Arc Breakdown Part 1: To Reach Infinity...Conquer Doubt.

Obstacles are often likened to mountains for a number of reasons; the problems in front of us seem impossible to scale or extraordinarily difficult to get to the other side of, just as it's hard to pass through a mountain with no opening, or scale over one that dwarfs even skyscrapers. Both obstacles are external, but one of the most challenging obstacles to overcome lies not just without but also within. For Valt, that obstacle was self doubt. It was the conquest of this mountain, among other major hurdles, that led him to become the blader that now sits atop the Blading World.



Valt's character theme is potential, the ability to become all manner of things in the future. In order to reach infinity. The only way forward to fulfill his seemingly limitless potential, was to scale his doubt. 



On his journey to the top of the Blading world, Valt often found himself measured as less than capable by his competition. They underestimated him. Sadly this external output caused an internal struggle, and this is something Valt deals with across his two seasons as the MC in a variety of scenarios.



Time after time he kept running into this obstacle and time after time it really took hold of him and impeded his progress. He faced this from one of his earlier competitors, Wakiya who callously stated his opinion that Valt didn't have what it took to become a great blader. Words that Valt took to heart. It blinded his vision and halted his progress.

"Sad but true not everybody is cut out to be a great blader."



This had a real world effect on his ability to blade. His self doubt, triggered by this external source caused a problem within that shifted things without. 



During the team battle arc he again began to question his ability and worth. This was further compounded by Lui, Japan's No. 1 Blader, when he made clear his belief that Valt was a terrible blader.



We see this in S2 during the shake up at BC Sol and their mounting losses.



You're a terrible blader, you're not cut out for this, you're out of your league. All that constant noise left Valt deaf to what was actually important, his goals, his ambitions, his relationship with Valtreyk and blind to his own value and abilities.



By the time he reached the end of the International Bladers Cup, All the noise has fallen away, and the only thing he hears is Valtreyk. That ringing in his ear that he was out of place had been silenced as he stood before Shu at the finals, one step away from his goal. 



Even as Shu tells him to give in, that it's already decided, Valt stands resolute, no longer a victim of doubt, but standing on real confidence that he acquired over the course of his journey. He wasn't the same boy who crumbled, lost himself when people fanned the flames of doubt in his head or when others watered the seeds of misgivings growing in his mind. 



To think, that this boy, who had been crippled by self doubt would become a legit Legend in the Blading world, the Legend of Legends. He worked hard for each milestone, earned every single victory on his way to becoming the strongest blader in the world.

Nice character breakdown! Valt is such an iconic character. Even though Valt did let people bring him down, he rose out of it. I think it would be cool if we had a Beyblade protagonist who straight up ignores people who ridicules or doubt him from the very beginning.

A perfect breakdown for Valt. Thats what I like about him, he was a blader who would never give up and would constantly push forward to achieve his goals. And through those efforts Valt now stands at the top of the blading world as the “Legend of Legends”and strongest in the world.

Note: also in the corocoro they do give Valt an alternative title being “the King of legends”. Which fits perfectly especially when Valt sits at the top of the legend rankings and was sitting on a throne in the manga.

Iconic is the perfect word. He truly is. I love how that's treated in the Blading World. He's not only the strongest blader on the planet, but he's also the most admired and respected, and none of it would have happened had he not conquered his doubt and decided for himself who he was going to be.

Let's talk about something positive; So would anyone like to share their favorite Beyblade memory or moment? For me personally(even tho it's kinda morbid)Ryuga death is still one of my top 5 or 3 Beyblade moments. And Yu beating Gingka, Yu was one of if not my favorite Metal characters so it was nice to see him beat Gingka.

Valt's victory over Shu at the international bladers cup. It was the culmination of everything the show had been building to since S1 E1. Valt became the strongest blader in the world by conquering his greatest rival. Such an awesome moment.

The brothers vs Lain and Shu is a goated battle, Drum vs Gywn is top notch, Aiga vs Phi(and his battle with Hyde), Valt vs Red Eye.

The brothers vs Lain and Shu is a goated battle, Drum vs Gywn is top notch, Aiga vs Phi(and his battle with Hyde), Valt vs Red Eye.

Honorable mentions:

Hikaru & Rantaro vs Lui and Drum
Lain vs Hikaru and Hyuga
Bell vs Rashad(this battle was still kinda "meh" overall)

Bell vs Rashad did feel a bit more tame and short when compared to the other burst final battles but it was still good.

I would Say....Valt Vs Shu in the Finals of Burst God. It was an amazing battle between two of the best characters in the series. Like this battle was set up all the way back in season 1. So seeing the rivalry between Valt and Shu have an epic conclusion was amazing. Especially since this was the last challenge for Valt to become the best Blader in the world and having it be against Shu made it even better.

Another one is Valt/Rantaro VS Shu/Lane, this battle was another great one. This battle gives the same/similar vibes from the finals in Burst God. Plus it was so good to see Valt beat lane and show everyone why he's the "Legend of legends".

This isn't my absolute favorite beyblade battle.. or moment even, but I do remember it vividly because I watched the battle when the episode aired; Ken vs Lui in episode 45 of Burst. Ken fought his heart out in that one and it was admirable as heck. I knew he wasn't gonna win but you gotta respect his determination and spirit in that fight. Sometimes it's the smaller more overlooked battles that shine the brightest and I feel like this is definitely one of them.

Yea,it was so good to finally see lane getting taken down especially by Valt. Also when Rantaro called for Valt, the look on lane's face, he knew he was done for.

That’s a wrap.

Though not my absolute favorite battle, Dante vs Arthur's rematch is one of the best battles in Beyblade. The directing, the animation, and the stakes. All great. Really underrated.

I know this definitely won’t happen but imagine after Quadstrike out of nowhere Hasbro reveals a season 8 of burst lol

To me it would depend on the story and beys. If it were a complete new system and not just the Qs system again and the beys actually looked good plus the story is good then I wouldn’t mind
