It doesn't necessarily mean that he's underestimating Valt, as he could just not like the idea of Valt winning ig.
Imo, I feel like Drum and Lui have a better chance, but we shall see.

I mean, they obviously aren’t going to make Rantaro and Ranjiro weak. They will probably buff them up to the level of the other legends to make the tournament interesting. Same thing with Silas and Drum.
Its not that I dont want Valt to win I do. But what strategy would he have of beating Lui. Lets not forget Lui and Drum have insane attack power just like Valt. But I dont know how it will work out

He's made several mentiona of this idea that Lui would crush Valt or something akin to that. That's sounds like underestimation to me.

Sure, I don’t think he’s actually meant to be weak this season. Both times he lost the tag battle were because of plot if you think about it. He was also doing pretty decent in the battles as well. Valt and Free had to win despite the fact that Rantaro and Silas were crushing them. Same deal with Hikaru having to lose since they couldn’t have him in the semis.

Rantaro gets crushed easy. He bursted to Dragon even with Hikaru with him, after Dragon suffered a big blow to Luinor.
