Chespin breaks the "reptilian aspect" of the grass unless it is based off of some lizard/mammal hybrid.

As for Froakie hes the only one going in line of tradition in terms of "something based on living in the water". My two sense,
Reptilian aspect...? Give me a few examples, Snivy is the only reptilian grass starter I've seen...

As for the Froakie thing, well obviously any Water type is going to try to be based off of living in water Speechless That's why it is a Water type...lol
What are you talking about?
Bulbasaur's evolution line is based off of dinosaurs, which are reptiles. "Saur" is even included in the names.
Chikorita's evolution line is based off of dinosaurs, specifically sauropods yet again.
Treecko's evolution line are obviously lizards.
Turtwig's evolution line are turtles and tortoises, which contrary to popular belief, are reptiles and not amphibians.

I agree with Clonetos' opinion. Chespin resembles more of a rodent, which is a mammal by the way, then any of the other reptilian Grass starters.

EDIT: Quadruple-ninja'd. I am REALLY getting too old for this...

Actually turtwig is based on a prehistoric turtle and some dinosuar mixed together so I was told because of its grass nature.
It's funny. I posted that picture to prove that bj3rdd's was fake...

The photo I posted is not real in any way. It is fake. I simply posted it to shut down a rumor before any ideas picked up.
Finally a 3D pokemon game on the go but the name needs some work

What do you mean? It's perfectly fine, we're going into depths now with the XYZ formation. it's a part of their plan. Right now they're probably like "its all according to plan Eee ". Just wait till we get more info Wink Its not about the name, its about how good this game'll be . :>
The graphics look downright amazing, I was hoping heavily for RSE remakes but eh, this will do xD

Thing I like most is the fact that the male character is ROLLERSKATING! - How freaking cool is that? I wonder what it will replace, maybe the bike because the dude was seen running at some point in the trailer.

I hope that mirror scene at the very beginning is a hint that this time, we actually get to customize characters. Because like most people have pointed out, two different female characters are seen running in the trailer. One with the shades and the spunky hat, and the other that reminds me a lot of the Triathlete Trainer Class.

Plus, the male character does have his shades off in one instance, in the scene where he is about to jump with the rope.

One more thing to add - THE GYM/ELITEFOUR/WTFIDC ROOM WITH THE FIRE LOOKED FREAKING EPIC AS HELL!!
There's a huge possibility that the female characters are the rivals this time.
Not ignoring the fact that customizations options will be left out,it would've been cool to see it.
(imagine roaming around the routes with a mohawk and a jacket!)
The rooms seem well designed.
It's basically useless arguing which generation was better.
as long as you love pokemon games, you shouldn't have any problem Smile
Then it should be just fine. I'm glad the game's coming out in October at least. Gives some people time to save up to get a 3DS should they not already have it.

I seriously hope they do include the customization. That would be one of the best features to add in a Pokemon game.

They can't do the same things with a DS as they can with a 3DS. Just because they are trying to bring a new way to view Pokemon entirely, it shouldn't be misinterpreted as "THEY ONLY WANT MOAR MONEE". You could turn pretty much any perspective of change into "for the money". The WBO wants us to donate money to make our experience better, CUZ THEY WANT MOAR MONEY.

Tired

Once again, I never said they "only want more money". I only said that what they were doing was sly, regardless, it was a very expected move. And I am fully aware of the fact that the 3DS is capable of doing more than the DS. My only point is that in making Pokémon X and Y 3D, Nintendo just forced all loyal Pokémon fans to spend extra money and buy a 3DS, unless (like me) they already own one. That is all. I am not trying to say that their move was unexpected, unnecessary, or silly at all, just that it was cunning.

And how does the WBO have anything to do with this? They're asking you for a donation. They're not forcing you to pay for your membership. That's pretty much what Nintendo's doing. They're forcing you to pay way extra before you can even pay for the game, unless you already paid the extra.

I'll let To answer this one for you.

Every generation did this (except V's main games) from Game Boy to 3DS, so complaining won't change the the transition to newer hardware.

I fully understand why you posted what you posted; my post was to curb any further nonsense because:

Number of people who read posts before posting: Low.
Number of people who get overly excited at seeing an image and spread it: High.
Combination of factors: Terrible.
It's not about their needs for money.
their sale of the 3DS has already been too good
they're improving your thinking about pokemon
they want you to think how far they've come-
from the black and white,sprite-less and 2D to this vivid,3D experience

At the first bold, they didn't have a choice. Making games on the DS forever, which is an obsolete console, would be pointless. People have been using the same standard DS format (excluding DSi, DSiXL, ect.) for around 9 years now. It's high time they upgrade.

At the second bold, actually, in a way they are. To participate in tournaments you need to pay $5 a tournament, or $10 for a year membership to the Bladers Passport usergroup.

If you want to be honest, they aren't asking for much. Hell, they won't be getting much out of it, because apparently $169.99 MSRP is waaaaaayyyyyyyy toooooo muuuccchhhhh to save over 9 months to what seems to be about half of the fan base.
Let's take a look at the cold hard facts.

To buy a brand spankin new 3DS at $169.99 MSRP (say, from Gamestop?) if you set away $10 a week, hell you'll have $370. If you can even set away a measly $5 a week, you'll have $185. If you don't want to get a brand new one, and be a cheapskate (and not support Nintendo) then you can get one at Gamestop for $10 less MSRP, and not support the company, or buy a used one from an off the chain store for less than that.
What people are having to do is save money, and they don't like it. You don't support Nintendo as much if you're an old user of a regular DS, and buy used games, even buying brand new games barely helps. They won't be making games for the DS anymore, because as I said before, it's obsolete.

So please, don't say that they're forcing anything upon you. They are only wanting you to upgrade to get better content. (see Pokemon X and Y, and other 3DS games)
yeah or you could wait till a birthday or christmas (yeah you could wait a bit longer to get it) and i have a question for all the people on here what starter are you going to pick
(Jan. 09, 2013  10:11 PM)Zancrow Wrote: [ -> ]That seems like a genius way to decide which game to buy.
Or you could actually wait to see what exclusives each game has and what differs between the two other than just the Legendary? Cuz you know, they do that.
Yeah I know but different is always better IMO XD

October is a rather long time from now and this game has likely had its own dedicated work team during BW2's development/release/meta.

1: Oopsie. Must've been me reading somewhere that the order for starters powers go ; 1. Fire 2. Water 3. Grass.
Must've been incorrect information that i have been given Uncertain
2: Figures. my brain just momentarily short-wired I guess :L
Woah, lotta people here like Pokemon, eh? I'm planning on shooting for Y right now, liking the legendary a lot more than the one in X.

One other thing, I know we aren't supposed to really continue on with the "gen war" bullcrab, but I'm going to apologize for that post I made here because I honestly think that's what started up all the arguing. So, sorry about that guys. Unhappy
I'm in a couple of Facebook groups that have to do with Pokemon, Kid Icarus, etc., so you can imagine that there was a lot of hype for these game, haha.

I would have preferred R/S remakes, but these games look exceptional so far. Full 3D battles are something we've been wanting for a very long time, and they've finally delivered. Not to mention the starters; all of them look very nice in their own way (though Chespin has to be my favorite of the three), and hopefully I'll be able to try all of them out. Smile

I'm also glad they're moving on to the 3DS after being on the DS for so long. 9 main series games were released for that system alone, compared to the 12 released on the GameBoy, GB Color, and GB Advance altogether...

Can't help but think how mad I would be if I hadn't gotten a 3DS for Christmas, haha. Tongue_out
I wonder what other new Pokemon will there be, I mean they have already used like every thing in the world for a Pokemon so...

I
Yveltal and Xerneas huh. Definitely getting Y. I find it strange that Xerneas' horns form a "Y" shape...
i can feel a Pokemon z coming out anyways am definitely getting x cause i love that xeneas and i love X's tho i hate how it does not really represent an x they could have at-least made some of the antlers facing downwards so that could have made an x by noooo they dident
I think it's smart for now to focus on X and Y only, and not potential sequels like the so-called 'Z'.

As for the naming system, I do have an idea:

Clearly the DNA thing will happen (X and Y are chromosomes), not the dimensions idea. You can easily see a strand of rainbow-colored DNA in logos. I hope that would allow for more Pokémon to be combined and take off from the original idea of the DNA Splicers in B2W2.

This also might prevent any speculation about a supposed 'Z' (when we really should be focusing on X and Y haha) because obviously no such renown chromosome going under the 'Z' banner exists as far as I know.

So yeah, biology instead of algebra. Perhaps they will update the breeding mechanisms in this game due to its relation to heredity and other similar areas, I'm looking forward to the possibility of mixing common Pokémon as well. Maybe not even starters and legendaries, but perhaps certain version-exclusive counterparts and such. Kinda like Synchrom for MFB Zero-G haha.
MY friend actually made a Facebook page shortly after he heard. It's about Trainer X, if anyone was interested in see.

The way the game looks reminds me a lot of the Harvest Moon series. Just due to the graphics.

Haha, I actually already hinted this in an earlier post XD
And also pointed out the rainbow colored DNA in the logos , although they were pretty obvious Tongue_out

What would be interesting is if 'X and Y''s legendary pokemon are spliced DNA wise, taking the 'X' And the 'Y' part and making it into an 'Z'...
Or something like that.
Just 'X' and 'Y' merging would be tooo similar to pokemon B/W 2 IMO.
Here are some leaked images from Coro Coro. Nothing new, it's only pictures of Xerneas and Yveltal. There Type and Ability are currently unknown (stated as: ???).

Yveltal definitely looks better, but I have no clue why I have such a sudden interest in Xerneas ...
