I kinda feel that the "chromosome" idea could be a bit tricky with some of the younger players. Like, it's easy for them to understand the land/sea thing and the time/space thing (sort of), but it could be harder to explain the genetics and stuff behind the X and Y chromosomes. It also could potentially raise some awkward questions, but I'll leave it at that.
In school a few days ago we watched a video about probability and it explains the Chromosomes, remember that I'm not even in Middle school yet. But, by the end of the video I was weirded out by it. But hey, if Pokemon wants to do something, Pokemon's gonna do it!

The basic premises of genetics are explained as early as third grade.

Furthermore, it will not likely be so convoluted as to actually require any understanding of the implications of the X and Y chromosomes whatsoever.
Oh really? My school must have been really behind then. The first time I had ever heard of the X and Y chromosomes in school was in 6th grade.
I like it how game freak is starting to make titles that pertain to the story. when before black they were just things that described the cover pokemon like red & blue. Or where something that the pokemon had like Diamond & pearl.
Um... for what I saw it's good, but the only starter I like is Chespin, because Fennekin and Froakie are just remakes of Vulpix and Seismitoad.
It's cool, but I wont be fully satisfied until you can battle Mr.Briney and Peeko in the PWT.
And Chespin doesn't look like Oshawott...?

Personally, I'm shooting for Froakie. Don't know why I like it so much, but I do.
First I've heard of this, and for the first time in a while, I'm happy for a pokemon game. The chromosome does kind of block out the idea of a 3rd game. Personally, going X and Froakie, because I like the legendary better in X, and sticking with the water tradition I've had.
I think Iam gonna get Y, I just like that legendary better. Then for my starter I might get Fennekin. But I am still not sure. I am gonna want to check the evolutions first to make sure they don't look dumb.
Oh !
I decided what starter.
I'm getting Chespin (Along with X of course) , 'Cuz Chespin just looks awesome, and more original (Less like oshawatt) the more I look at him. Personally, I dislike oshawott, but Chespin I love ! Smile
Im going with Fennekin for sure..always started with fire types except for Pearl when I picked Turtwig by accident Unhappy but it was all good though! Chespin doesn't look very original to me... looks like an offspring of Breloom. But opinoins are opinoins :>
Definitely Chespin here. I've never picked a grass starter before, but I don't really like the other two from what we've seen so far. Plus, it reminds me of Nuzleaf, which I love! :B
So, you can now pre-order folks !
*Takes out wallet xD*
How much is the pre-order?
Not sure, it was actually nationsbeyblade that told me about it.
Preorders are universally set by the individual retailers, but in almost all circumstances except for very expensive limited editions, a minimum of $5 is acceptable...
will pokemon ever die?
Um...how should we know? Anyway, is it known if every single pokemon (save, maybe mewtwo, celebei, etc.) from previous generations will be featured in this game? Cuz that would be kinda psychotic.

As long as there are people who love it and people who will play it I say no, How dare you bring that kind of attitude here, tis a time of celebration a time to welcome a new set of pokemon to the ever growing family! Besides the games look promising...

Not as of now, it is not confirmed.

But it's basically a given, considering every Pokemon game in the past has done so, paired with the increased size of 3DS cartridges, it is highly unlikely.

I have no idea what you mean by he brought "that kind of attitude" into the discussion, he was just asking a question.

As long as the games sell and they earn a profit, no. Pokemon is still pretty big and popular.

I honestly don't think the pokemon franchise will ever die. It'll just faint until you take it to a pokemon center XD
Guys, that really simple question has been thoroughly addressed, and none of you are clever.

Real discussion or real silence.
All 3 look fine to me. I'll probably use fennekin being it doesn't look that strong and I love challenge.
