Played my Yang Zing at locals and went 2-2 today. All praise Baxia and Yazi. Beat Fire Fist and Spellbook Shaddolls but loss to Qliphorts and Hieratics. Held my own against Qlis #MaskOfRestrictandSacredSealoftheForbiddenSpell but I got sacked in an otk my Hieratics..
Is it even worth playing IRL right now? Thinking of getting back into the swing of things but I haven't been keeping track of the scene for the past few months. Last I played Qliphs were even dominating online.
A lot of good stuff irl, late next month we get hero structure deck, not to mention some tier 2decks match well against dolls and burning abyss provided you side well. (Blackwings)

Some old banned cards like Chaos Emperor, ring of destruction, etc. are getting rewritten, which means we can now play them!

Oh yeah the new effects and reprints of old cards is an interesting concept. Despite the fact that Envoy will do less damage now since it only accounts for your opponents cards, still think it's a little to good. Although as long as there is a good Trap on the field you'll be fine.

I don't normally play Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I've been wanting to teach my girlfriend about Synchros and XYZ with some basic decks. I built her an okay, semi-competitive Constellar Deck for XYZ, but I don't know what to build for Synchros.
She is into Zombies and Spellcaster-type monsters, and she seems to be interested in Fabled because of the "fallen angel" theme. I want it to be easy for her so she can get the hang of it, so what archetype do you all recommend?
Or, if Fabled is fine, what are some staple cards to look out for?

I thought it was called "Prophecy"? and the spellcards in that deck are called "Spellbook"

Unfortunately, Spellbooks belong to the Prophecy archtype, of which is an XYZ-based deck, of which the Constellar deck I built already covers. Because it involves a little more use of Spells, and because I'm not as proficient to Yu-Gi-Oh (and WIXOSS) deck building as I am with Vanguard, building a Prophecy deck would be rather challenging. That's why I asked for Fables.
The biggest fabled staples include Obedience Schooled, Phoenix Wing Wind Blast and fabled monsters like cerburrel, nozoochee, chawa etc. best to run no. 64 ronin raccoon Sandayu and if you want, the set up for Shooting quasar dragon. Also Soul Charge is practically a must. A high monster count is often necessary with the discarding cards like dark world dealings.
Fabled Quasars can get like, 3 quasars on board right?
Zombies are also "new player friendly" when it comes to how complicated playing with it is. Zombies cost wise isn't all that bad either, since most of the main deck comes in common too. If I had a choice, I'd go with zombies because they aren't "as" combo heavy in my opinion, and they don't brick as hard if your main play gets stopped.

Blackwings are good for synchros, easy Rose Dragon and Armor Master are nice, also Blackwing Gale is unlimited now.

I find that Pilica's familiar has been released, but as a part of Ritual Beats, a sequel to the Gusto deck type.

Blackwings are my deck. I made my girlfriend a Fabled Quasar deck, but I didn't put a lot of Quasars. Maybe like 2. But I'm definitely making her a Harpie XYZ deck.
But thanks for telling me about Gale. I didn't know Gale was unlimited now, which will be pretty great to work with. I have, like, 2 Breeze, 2 Gale, 2 Blizzard, 1 Vayu, and 1 Steam (Effect Veiler doesn't count), so I can probably switch one Breeze for Gale. I don't like that Breeze is limited to Blackwing Synchros.
Built myself a tellarknight deck, but I don't think I have the hang of it. I have, like, 14 monsters and 26 non monsters, and little to no way of getting them to my hand and graveyard.
Two mins of starting Yugioh again, I already think Tellerknights and Burning Abyss should go far, far away....

When i went i pulled alot of stuff like Malacoda Netherlord of the Burning Abyss, Qliphorts,Infernoids and some super rares.
In the new pack that just came out yesterday i pulled some Nekroz cards, Vanity's Emptiness and some more good stuff.

I pulled 2 Clausolas 2 unicore and Decisive armor
I'm trying to build a Yang Zing deck with the new Pendulum Yang Zing/Zefra support, Fuxi and Qiuniu, but I am unsure of my deck build because I cannot make a proper Monster line-up as well as Spell and Trap support to get these cards back when I need it. Right now, I am like

But these don't look right, and I feel like I am overloading my deck. That is 26 monsters, more than 50% of a proper tournament-sized deck.
