Very stupid if true. I mean, that would make Tengu-whatever decks un-friggin'-bearable. I'd hate that so, so much. Really if that's true, wouldn't that make Tengu-based decks, like, the new Tier Zero? Geez, that would suck. *shudders*

Edit: Can you Side Synchros, Fusions, and Xyz?
Synchros and Fusions yes, not sure about Xyz, probably though.
Turbo Pack 6 spoiler list is out.
Me gusta Ultra Sangan.
So Daegor have you gotten the new XYZ cards? And if you have how do they work? XD I have no clue, I wonder if they will be useful in competitive play?

Also glad to see the list on the new pack, I might get some.

Yea, I got the starter deck. It's not really complicated. Fufill the requirements on the Xyz monster, then stack the overlay units (Xyz materials) on top of each other and put the Xyz monster on top.

Like Synchros, some will be amazing, some will be terrible.
So they're kind of like fusion monsters? (with the XYZ materials) Cool, I think I should've gotten the starter deck today, but ehh, I'll buy it online eventually.
(Aug. 04, 2011  7:30 PM)Daegor42 Wrote: [ -> ]So Kevin Tewart stated in a drunken (?) Facebook post that Sangan and Tengu would work when detached from an Xyz.

That post has been taken down.

I really, really, really hope it's not true.

This has been confirmed as a real ruling.

Gorram it. I might quit this game now.
Damn it. Tengu NEEDS to go to 2/1, TCG exclusive or not. Also Daegor, don't quit forever, just quit untill Tengu gets hit. Also in TU06, I'm looking forward to Super C Disappear and Ulti DAD.
I like Stardust, RDA, and Armory Arm especially. Sangan and DAD are cool, but I already have them, so I don't need more. Although another Golem Dragon will be nice, too.

Tengu will reign. I'm sure of it. We need the thing to be Semi, at least. I, honestly, prefer Limited. But then again, limited basically kills its ability. So, Konami might leave it Unlimited?!? O.o
I got some of the Xyz monster cards and i have to admit there alot easier to summon then synchros, the only problem is is that you can only use their effects a certain amount of times based on how many materials it has, pretty decent in a duel though. I especiall like no. 34 i think it is, electronic computer beast terror-byte as it has a very neat defence and i think its effect is decent where you can take control of another opponent. I think its the best number monster currently because of this. the only drawback is the atk of 0.
Tengu is TCG exclusive though, which means it's unlikely to get hit by banlists no matter how deserving.
So that means the real question is "How do I get around Tengu?" I mean, it isn't always that difficult, but still, they can be hella annoying.

Tengu isn't the annoying one, really. I'm more annoyed by Sangan.

Tour Guide into Sangan. Xyz into Leviathan. Detach Sangan. Grab Lonefire. Next turn herd de derp. Or grab Veiler. Or Grab Debris. Whatever.

Me no likey Sangan not being slow.
I have a solution, TKRO backed up by D Prison or something.
Tengu isn't hard to get over. The smart play is NOT to waste your spell and trap monster removal cards on it. Instead, main or side monsters that can beat over it (Cyber Dragon, Thunder King, Doomcaliber Knight, etc. are all good picks). Or, if you wanted to be really pro, you could just side in a playset of your own Tengu and summon and crash it into your opponent's until they're all gone. Of course, most Tengu players also play Pot of Avarice (which, in my opinion, is a huge problem card and absolutely needs a limit), so that won't stop them forever, but it at least eliminates the opportunity for Tengu-synchro shenanigans for a turn or two.

Just wondering, why did we need to know that?

Also, if my Normal Summon is negated by Judgement or Warning or the like, can I summon again? I'm pretty sure no, but still, I wanted to check.

EDIT: I'm in the middle of a heated debate on DN. If I use Magic Cylinder to negate an attack and deal damage, does it count as targeting the monster?

You can't summon again.

Magic Cylinder targets.
Just got back from locals. Made top 4 with mah Saberrrzzzzz. Only won $11 in store credit but whatevs, that's two more free tournament entries, lol.

Lost 0-2 round one against Miracle Gemini (drew absolutely awful).

Won 2-0 against Macro Gadgets round two.

Won 2-1 against Plant Synchro round three.

Won 2-1 against Tengu Scraps round four.

Like a boss. Cool
2 for 6 with Morphtronics/Genex at a local card shop. There were WAY too many Blackwing decks. It's kinda pathetic, but I actually managed to lose to one of the worst Blackwing decks I've ever seen. I drew SO bad, it's not even funny. There were a pretty large amout of people for such a tiny tournament. Though it was unofficial, it was pretty fun. (Though I regret going with Morphtronics. Bad move)
Its because blackwing decks are pretty good.
Morphtronic cards are ones I hate the most, their effects ok, but they're not that powerful.
Boarden plus two Staplen equals a pretty big mess. Throw in a Camran, and you've got some trouble brewing. Regardless, I run them for Synchro with Genex, so it wasn't a big surprise to get hit by some pretty bad draws early. The two I did win was against one Six Sams that I won 2-1 and against X-Sabers, which I won 2-0. It didn't look like my opponent got a very good hand, though. Staplen ended up being the difference. My deck is pretty monster-heavy (22 monsters, not including Synchros), but that's to be expected. It does well as long as I can search out Machina Fortress or Morphtronic Celfon. Of course, Genex Ally Changer and Remote aren't too shabby either. Afterwards, I did spank some Lightsworn deck with Decisive Armor. (OTK'ed twice for a 2-0 win) Actually, you'd be surprised what you can do with a Gadget Hauler in a deck with a lot of draw cards. I hate using it, but occasionally I side Limiter Removal just for that occasion. Not today, though.
Though I agree. My TG/Meklord deck was the better choice here. Skeil would have been so helpful.
Ya, Meklords are ones that are pretty hard to beat.
Right now In WC 2011 I've been kinda stuck on Ghost. I've been using a dragon deck or sometimes I switch to me Destiny Hero deck.
Just got back from the sneak peek, pulled Tiras which I sold for £15 and something like Infected Mail I lost 4 games and then dropped out, Damn I want that mat.
At the sneak peak today I got a load of rubbish and a ghost rare Leviathan Dragon , won 2/5. No mat. Unhappy
