Heheh, Spirit Reaper at two is going to be rather interesting, but I'm displeased with the limiting of BOM. Icarus Attack getting hit was obvious, so it's not a total shocker, but I'm still somewhat upset; my BW's aren't going to pose that much of a threat now. T^T

I kinda feel happy not buying a Goyo. I was going to, but there's no point now. xD That's one less thing I have to buy, which makes my wallet happy. I think the majority of us are quite displeased with the list, well, the ones playing Meta-Decks anyway.

Calm down guys, Blackwings aren't dead by any means.
They've been hit on literally EVERY banlist since their release and they're still around. This format isn't going to be any different. Kalut at 1 hurts, but it's not that big of a deal. I'm personally going to be replacing the 2 missing Kalut with a Sirocco and a Zephyros once that releases. The only thing losing Kalut really hurts is that Black Whirlwind is a little less useful now. Honestly though I rarely ever searched Kalut from Whirlwind anyway, I almost always went for Blizzard instead.
Icarus going down to two is troublesome, but not really that big of a deal either, especially given that Pot of Duality is still at three and still run in literally every Blackwing deck. You guys can puss out on Blackwings if you want, but I still think they're going to be just as playable as before and I'm going to keep playing them.
This upcoming format is going to be VERY trap heavy now that Book of Moon is down to one, so I expect to see a lot of meta decks playing some combination of Jinzo/Trap Stun/Royal Decree/Seven Tools.

I feel better reading this. I was working on a Blackwing-based deck to run with EB Aslla Piscu (my favorite EB, and one of the better ones IMO), keeping a Winged Beast Theme. Having Kalut at 1 doesn't make it too much of a problem, but trying to keep monsters in my field and such, it'll be a bit harder.
Though, there SHOULD be a way to keep recycling graveyard-ed Blackwings or monsters in general to a certain extent, right?
There's no point in it, Blackwings don't play that way so trying to force a graveyard recycling/manipulation mechanic into the deck is counter productive.
Blackwings haven't focused on the graveyard since a few formats ago when Vayu Turbo was THE deck to beat.
Really? Shoot. I mostly generated the idea of Blackwings for swarming just to get Aslla piscu out, then try to pull an OTK as quick as possible using cards like Nightmare Archfiends, Black Garden, and Bamboo...something. Let me check...Bamboo Scrap.
I don't understand where everyone got this impression that Blackwings are great for swarming... 99% of the time if you swarm in Blackwings (Summon Sirocco, Special Summon 1-3 Bora, Special Summon Gale), you're overcommitting and you're going to lose as a result of it.
Blackwings are not the deck to be playing if you're trying to find a reliable way to summon the Earthbound Immortals.
I can't count how many times a Blackwing user tried to swarm me and fed my back row, then I pulled off my chance move of using Abundance, using Pegasus to get the remaining Beasts I need, then getting out Rainbow Dragon (and maybe Hamon too) for a total wipeout.
Really?....Shoot, back to the drawing board, then. I always thought, reading some effects, that it's easier to get Blackwings out because....well, their effects. I thought, "Easy special summons and such, have more than enough for a 2-Tribute summon, etc."
I guess I run better with Synchros then...

not 99% it depends if u should swarm or not, if u wanna grab the quick win u can. cos i can guarantee u ive been in a situation where i couldve otked someone but i didnt, but the truth was the guy had no defense. many times.
