The WBO is proud to announce that we will be partnering with ANIME NORTH 2014–for the seventh consecutive year–to host GRAND BATTLE TOURNAMENT 2: WBO North American Championship 2014! With Bladers from across the continent will be battling it out for the title of WBO North American Champion, the competition will surely be intense.

Want to participate?
GRAND BATTLE TOURNAMENT 2 will be open to the public, but if you live in North America, and aren't able to afford the trip up to Toronto? Don't worry! We've got you covered; win one of our qualifier tournaments and you'll win paid travel expenses up to Toronto! Here's the list of qualifiers currently planned:

This list is likely not final, so please stay tuned for updates about more qualifiers in the coming days/weeks!

View the full announcement here for details!

Entry: You need an AN Pass!
A Blader Passport is not required for this tournament, as AN does not allow event organizers to charge entry fees for events within the convention. However, if you want to support the WBO so we can host even better tournaments with even better prizes in the future, and participate in the BeyPoints ranking System in future tournaments, then you will need one! So, if you wish to purchase one at the tournament, that is still possible.

To participate in the tournament, you currently have a few options to gain entrance: a) a weekend pass or b) a day pass for Saturday at AN. Click here for information about online registration for ANIME NORTH 2014. Please note that children (ages 6-13) are admitted for half price.

This year will mark the tenth AN tournament since the original GRAND BATTLE TOURNAMENT at Anime North 2005. The fact that we’re all here to recognize this anniversary of sorts can only be a testament to the collective passion we all share for this game, and more importantly, to the longevity and resolution of this community to move forward in the face of uncertainty. Additionally, the new Limited Format is the best recent examples of this, and that’s why it has been chosen as the format for the championship this year. It’s something we alone created as a community, and it’s something we will watch and help grow as time passes, all as a result of our own will and determination.

Many people have come and gone since that day at Anime North 2005 almost ten years ago, but what hasn’t changed, and what won’t change–unless we let it–is the tradition. Regardless of who attends each year and who doesn’t, the experience of meeting Bladers from across North America–and the world–each year is absolutely unforgettable, inspiring, and special. As an organization who’s very existence is so deeply rooted in the idea of competitive play and interacting with others, I have always found it hard to think of anything else which embodies what the WBO is about more than the AN weekend every year. Wherever you are, if you have the chance to attend, take it. And with that said …

If you think you'll be able to make it out to GRAND BATTLE TOURNAMENT 2, please post here and I will start building an attendance list!

I'll try to be there for free play, again, if you spot someone in a Gingka cosplay, it's me. Tongue_out

Can't wait to meet everyone I didn't see at the Prelude, haha.

Good luck to all today.

Exciting morning you've got there, haha.

I'm really excited to meet you, Leone.

Does anyone plan on being a little early? I should be at Sheraton at around 10:30, or so.

See you all soon! (:
Morning everyone. Time for some breakfast and to get our beyblade on.

I couldn't of said it better, Dark. See you soon! (:

Same place as yesterday. So yes the Sheraton.
Good luck to everyone today! Lets hope Team GT can go for a third in a row.
Take 'em down Dark!!!

Oh yah, and good luck to everybody else too.

I can't wait to see who wins it! This is so exciting.
I'm placing my bet on Dark and Kei! Wink
Good luck to everyone in the tournament.
Can't wait the see the video footage to see what beys everyone used! Pinching_eyes
Time for the MD takeover to continue. Prediction: geetster, Arupaeo, Kei
I'm for Dark or geetster99. Either way GT takes it again. Give some updates to us! We have so much suspense!

Man the results are pretty good! Geetser's and Dark are both 2-0!
geetster doesn't count as GT. Serious

Well let's hope MD prevails, because if GT does win then I will... I can't think of anything cool to do.

Final 5:
JesseObre 5-0
Dark_Mousy 4-1
YukoRay14 4-1
Geetster99 4-1
Sniper 4-1

Tie breaker between Sniper, YukoRay, and Dark! Geetser's moves forward to final battle and Jesse falls out sadly...
How do you know this?

I'll PM you.

Anyways it's two Maryland Bladers in the Final Battle. Geetster99 VS Sniper! Who will win? Who will end the GT Streak? #BattleforKingOfMD.

Also Dark_Mousy VS YukoRay13 for a 3rd Place battle. Will YukoRay go third again or will he fall to the Beyblade Crusade 2 Champion Dark?!
Great time today. Met awesome members. I had a final score of 3-2, one win away from making the finals. I believe this tied me with LMAO for sixth place.

If it means anything, I believe this got CT the "fourth best", seeing two placers were from MD.

Who won?
1st : Geetster99
2nd : Sniper
3rd : Dark_Mousy
4th : Yuko_Ray14
5th : JesseObre

Also, not a damn Scythe in sight, seriously. I was the only one to use it, the good moulds, and I lost to Earth combinations. I only won once with it, but it was against a Cyber Attack customization. Not even one Omega as far as I know either.

If anything, Libra and Earth dominated most of the battles.
Congratulations to everyone! Hope to see the videos on BeyChannel and see everyone at Anime North 2015!
TAKE OVERRRR! GOOD JOB EVERYONE!

##MarylandProject:AnimeNorthTakeOverComplete
Congrats everyone. Good job Dark, even though you didn't win you did amazing getting 3rd. Well I guess NC atleast places 3 years in a row. Congrats geetster99, I'm coming for you over the summer (hopefully). Can't wait to see pictures.
Oh, by the way, Stars and Time, your medals are coming with Arupaeo, so expect to get them probably at the next tournament.

It was very cool that the finalists were all the qualifiers, except that Dark_Mousy replaced Leone19.
Anime north pass also? I would like one thank you.
