Sorry for DP, but this is my 103rd post today! I reached the triple digits!
That isn't always a good thing ...

I did some helpful posts today though...
From #1135 to #389. Boo-Yah!
I report spam bots almost everyday.
It's getting stupid.
Getting rid of them is more of a pain. It's nearly impossible I think to keep them away completely unfortunately. Even the site update recently didn't do what we hoped and rid of them almost completely :\.

There needs to be a Bot detector.

I think we have all the plugins we can get to block them before they can post, but the fact that bots are so intelligent now that they can go activate their account in the email addresses which were originally fake brings this whole problem to another level.
Can we get any members to ban the bots rather than report? Its ridiculous already, I've seen about more than 30 in the past few days, and that was in the daytime, which is the peak time for the worse spambots to come in. (Worse meaning the ones creating around 10-30 threads)

I know right...
I'm in favor.
That would also allow members to ban and delete other members, which would be a really bad idea.
I think that would lead to problems as Du@l said. Why not wait until the mod comes on. It's not like they are a major threat or anything. If it does get out of hand and they can't find the time to delete them... I'm sure we'd be seeing at least one new mod then.

Just sick back an enjoy the WBO.

There needs to be a mod that can be on actively, and multiples in different time zones.
I got an idea: We could be regular members, but to use our spambot powers, we get a password from a Mod to ban the spambot, and the password changes every time along with your mod session timed out. Good idea?
They are plenty though. I believe you guy's time zones have been covered. We need a UK mod, hah.

: When they log on to give you a password, why couldn't they do it them self then? Plus I believe that would be to much work.

Well, I saw an ad up for about an hour so..

Lets make a hypothetical here: Say there is about 70 spambot threads, and 3 mods maximum. Those 3 mods will take more than 20 minutes to get them out. With my idea, the mods could take out the spambots with the added advantage of possibly 10 or more veterans to the site to wipe out the spambot. This kinda implies that my idea should only be used in rare scenarios like what I mentioned above.

That is rather good considering I work all day ...

I am also certain that there is unfortunately no way we could give anyone a password to an account with the option to use the Goodbye Spammer feature, because it would require that account to have all the other moderator powers. If we can actually trust someone to be a moderator, we will probably promote them, quite simply.
I see. Well thanks for saying that without an attitude that someone else would have given me. (I'm not pointing towards anyone, by the way)
I just changed may beypoints avatar. I don't mean to boast but I find it really funny.
So it is not the same guy who keeps on selling "hand skimmed dumps" (sounds disgusting) right?
Beypoints avatar? Is there something I don't know about?
Look at my profile, then press view battle profile.
Huh, I never knew you could give your battle profile a different picture.

The more you know, eh?
