Qc' as Lightning
Silver Spring, MD Burst Classic Format Ranked
Tournament Results
12:00pm on 09/08/2019
Host: The Supreme One
Location: This event will be held outdoors at MLK Jr. Park.
Time: As the tournament will start promptly at 12:00pm, please plan to arrive around 11:00am when registration will begin. Registration will close at 11:45am. If the participant cap has not been met at this time, waitlisted players will be offered a spot. Confirming your attendance on the WBO event page does not substitute for registration at the venue.
Prizes: Due to WBO funds currently being put on hold, prizes will not be offered at this event (fortunately this also means no entry fees!)
Other Information:
Please come prepared. It is helpful for both hosts and judges if all participants bring at least one Takara Tomy or Hasbro-manufactured Beyblade of their own and more than one launcher when possible. Additionally, parents of children under the age of 13 must be present for the duration of the event, as tournament end times can be difficult to estimate, and we would hate for someone to be left behind once it is over.
Be aware of your belongings. We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!
All players must arrive on-time. The tournament will begin no later than 1:00 PM and is expected to run for about 3 hours, though if there is a large turnout it may take longer. Please plan accordingly. If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.
If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.
Spread the Word!
Are you as excited about the festivities as we are?! If so, be sure to tell your friends about it! And if you haven't already, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook!

Come to both! As a reminder, Qc'er than Lightning will be unranked, so if you can only make it to one, I'd suggest our Classic tournament.

I asked him if he could post it - it's just a side event and Classic is supposed to be the big one. We usually do that but with Metal Fight after Burst.

True I guess..... At least I'm buying 2 parts to help me out from D.C.
Also Does anyone before the tournament begins want to battle me in standard format? Deck Format? Or we can do it when I'm not officially battling someone. Just saying and I also want to know I anyone will be selling the Gt triple booster set for $49 or under? If needed I can just purchase Spriggan and Bahmoot (I might have spelled Bahmoot wrong again!) for like $46 and under. just saying! :)
Guess what y'all, IMMA BE COMING, BOO YA
Looking forward to tomorrow! I should be arriving at the park around 10:30, 10:45am and registration will start at 11am (note that this is an hour earlier than our typical start time). If anyone has tarps, feel free to bring them so we have a softer surface to play on. See you all soon!

That's awesome Xeno, I'm bring my Cross collision beystadium
Just want to let y'all know, please let registration know that I'm 17 minutes from here,
Just passed 216 east Laurel
I had a fun time at today's tournaments! I got to see a bunch of familiar faces, including some newer folks from Delaware's emerging Beyblade tournament scene.
Thanks to everyone who helped run and organize this tournament, and all the bladers who participated! And thanks to the generous parent who provided trophies! Don't forget to thank the people who drove you there!
And I think I got horribly sunburned again? Dang. I was hoping I was past all the terrible sunburns, but I guess not.
I made it to second place, putting some of Wombat and bladekid's spicy combos to good use. I went an entire Classic tournament without using Orpheus O2 for once.
Yami managed to destroy me completely in the final with Deathscyther Armed Bullet. I can't think of a better way to be defeated than that, honestly.
A couple of notes on the various hiccups along the way:
A lot of bladers still had trouble understanding the Burst Classic format. It's a lot of rules, that's true, but they do need to be followed. Would those of you who had trouble please tell us what we can do on this site and in the tournament threads to make it simpler for you to understand next time? Because it feels like we've tried everything. We have Burst Classic rules (detailed, but too detailed), a permitted parts spreadsheet (but unreadable if you don't know what to look for), and several reminders about the format restrictions. But without fail, at least half to three quarters of participants show up having no idea what is and isn't legal to use in the format. Help us help you; just tell us what you need. Do you need videos?
WBO rules continue to be a stumbling block for Most of the participants. Showing up to matches with parts not permitted in the format, combining Hasbro Tips and TT Layers, and unshielded 12s (in the case of Qc'er than Lightning) kept happening. And what's worse is that sometimes the same bladers kept making the same errors in later matches, and then repeating the mistake that was corrected last time. I'm starting to think the WBO rules in general are just too taxing for most participants. There's a lot to understand, and many of them aren't able to understand. I am wondering if we need to label Burst Classic as some form of "advanced format" and then require participants to demonstrate a basic understanding of the format before registering. That seems unfair and exclusionary, so we need some other ideas for this. We managed to get Qc' as Lightning done in about 3 hours, but it feels like about 1 of those hours was spent dealing with rule hiccups and fakes.
We had a surprisingly large amount of fake parts being used by players today. Most of them were obvious with phillips head screws, but some were subtle like fake launchers. We found fake launchers twice, and fake layers in the collections of more than 3 bladers. Judges especially need to be checking the launchers of bladers; a fake launcher might seem like it doesn't have unusual numbers of rotations or strength, but it's still not permissible during WBO tournaments. It's a bad sign when a blader, not a judge, discovers a fake launcher being used in round 5 of a tournament. The fake situation is getting way out of control! We need to make it clear to bladers that they need to not bring fake parts to WBO tournaments, it wastes so much time. And we need to make a resource for parents to understand how to spot and avoid fakes. It's demoralizing to a blader to discover that the bey they like can't be used because it's fake.
