Host: The Supreme One

LocationThis event will be held outdoors at MLK Jr. Park.

Time: As the tournament will start promptly at 12:00pm, please plan to arrive around 11:00am when registration will begin. Registration will close at 11:45am. If the participant cap has not been met at this time, waitlisted players will be offered a spot. Confirming your attendance on the WBO event page does not substitute for registration at the venue.

Prizes: Due to WBO funds currently being put on hold, prizes will not be offered at this event (fortunately this also means no entry fees!)

Other Information:
Please come prepared. It is helpful for both hosts and judges if all participants bring at least one Takara Tomy or Hasbro-manufactured Beyblade of their own and more than one launcher when possible. Additionally, parents of children under the age of 13 must be present for the duration of the event, as tournament end times can be difficult to estimate, and we would hate for someone to be left behind once it is over.

Be aware of your belongings. We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

All players must arrive on-time. The tournament will begin no later than 1:00 PM and is expected to run for about 3 hours, though if there is a large turnout it may take longer. Please plan accordingly. If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

Apologies for the delayed reply - it was a whirlwind of a weekend! Sunday's tournaments were the most fun I've had in a while. Great to see so many familiar faces and some very enthusiastic newcomers :) Our MVP of the day was Blckman02 who donated 3 stunning trophies for our winners - they even had the name of the tournament engraved! We had a total of 28 participants (worth noting that this was 11 fewer than had RSVP'd) and our placers were as follows:

1st - Yami
2nd - DeceasedCrab
3rd - Left Burst
4th - JBlade11

As DeceasedCrab mentioned, we encountered an unprecedented number of fakes yesterday - primarily Made in China launchers and launcher grips, but also several fake beyblades in Classic, and a few players using 12 without a frame in our Pick 3 Choose 1 trial event after. I agree with DeceasedCrab that there appears to be a need for more information (pictures!) regarding fakes, especially as they pertain to accessories, which inexperienced bladers hardly ever recognize as unofficial. Kudos to the parents who read the rules and arrived early to clear their parts with the judges!

Although we've simplified our ruleset since the introduction of Classic, it appears there's still some confusion as to what is and isn't legal. With DeceasedCrab's permission, I believe that including his list of which parts specifically are and are not legal in the official Classic guide would help remedy this issue. Let's make sure that our rulebook continues to be a working document as new parts are released! Gaia Dragoon, for example, is a single layer but based on most interpretations of the rules shouldn't be legal in Classic (it contains metal), yet it hasn't yet been added to the list of banned parts. Since this isn't the thread for Qc'er than Lightning, I'll save my thoughts on P3C1 for later; that being said, I think the common theme of this weekend was that as we continue to introduce and iterate on new formats and concepts, it's incredibly important that we keep our members (organizers and otherwise) in the loop. Things like our proposal for a Pick 3 Choose 1 format should be available for public commentary prior to experimental trialing. Likewise, as updates get made to our official format rulebooks, it's important that we keep the players in the know - none of us judges should be assuming that a part is banned if an announcement hasn't been made. A big thank you to everyone who judged and helped out on Sunday, and I look forward to seeing you all again in 2 weeks!

LeftBurst seems understandably intent on hiding his face.
Joke's on us, Left Burst was covering his own face with a logo banner I think!

Nope, but fortunately I bought another!
This tournament will be up for processing shortly as well, but the account "Gabe234" is missing. Kei or ~Mana~ can one of you please create it? Thanks.
Wombat "Gabe234" is created.

Stop digging up months passed tournaments! Yes, I get it, you want to play Classic. Patience is a virtue you need to cultivate.
