This is a Burst Standard format Tournament.

Host:
 Deceased Crab

Format: Burst Standard. Consult the rules at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mbjw-O...mLOgNQ-c9A I know it says "Old" in the title, but that's a joke on the product "Old Bay".

LocationThis event will be held indoors at the Baltimore Science Fiction Society building, which has a large library. http://www.bsfs.org/bsfsdrct.htm

Parking will be street parallel parking, there are no nearby lots or structures, but parking doesn't seem to be a problem on Saturdays.
Please tell your parents or whoever's driving that there are plenty of books to read and chairs to sit in.

Time: As the tournament will start promptly at 1:00pm, please plan to arrive around 12:00pm when registration will begin. Registration will close at 12:45am. Confirming your attendance on the WBO event page does not substitute for registration at the venue, make sure you register at the main desk once you arrive.
Do not arrive before 11:30am! The building will not be open before 11:30am, so please, don't. Go get some breakfast while you wait. Last time, some people showed up before 11:30am. That was incorrect to do!

Prizes: Sorry but no prizes this time! We don't have a prize budget right now and I've been paying out of pocket for them. Can't do it this time.

Other Information:
We have a 32 participant cap. There will be a waitlist at the venue on the tournament day if that fills up, but not before tournament day.

Even if you can't or don't want to participate, you may show up and enjoy free play with other bladers at the venue.

A WBO Account is required to participate. They're free. Go make one now, and then click "Join Tournament" if you want to participate. Do not just show up and assume everything will be okay; without an account, you will not participate in the tournament, and without registering in one of the 32 participant slots by joining the tournament, your participation is not guaranteed.
It is important that you know what your WBO account name is. Otherwise, how will you participate? We cannot look that information up for you. It would help if you were logged into the account on a smartphone when you get there.

All participants must check in at the Organizer's Desk when they arrive. If you don't check in, it doesn't matter if you register online; you won't be playing. We will make numerous announcements reminding you to check in. We will do a roll call before the tournament begins. We will give you every opportunity in the world to let us know you are present at the tournament.

Be aware of your surroundings. The BSFS organization has generously allowed us to hold a Beyblade tournament at a wonderful indoor venue. We are guests in this space, and we should be respectful. There are many books there! If you want to borrow one, use the card catalog box in the front room. Please do not use the board games on the shelf, you are more than welcome to come to BSFS at a later time to boardgame. Anyone interested in BSFS events should definitely go to http://www.bsfs.org/index.html and attend those. Anyone who's looking for some good books to read, well, you've come to the right Beyblade tournament.

Please come prepared. It is helpful for both hosts and judges if all participants bring at least one Takara Tomy or Hasbro-manufactured Beyblade of their own and more than one launcher when possible. Additionally, parents of children under the age of 13 must be present for the duration of the event, as tournament end times can be difficult to estimate, and we would hate for someone to be left behind once it is over.

Be aware of your belongings. We'd advise users to please, please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

All players must arrive on-time. The tournament will begin no later than 1:00 PM and is expected to run for about 3 hours or less. We will start without you if you're later than that. The tournament absolutely needs to finish by 5:00 PM. Please plan accordingly. If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events – Challonge – does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

Rise up bladers. We need to revenge the shake!
Lol the name of this tournament is just too hilarious!!
Savin my spot and I will most likely be able 2 come!
I nearly died when I read the title xD. Also I could help myself to do this

Episode:III The Revenge of Bladekid's Protien Shake

Long long ago, in a shrekaverse far far away, the return of bladekid's protien shake had just dawned.
The protein shake was secretly the Sith Shake Lord and was the father of bladekid. The rotten shake used it's fibre-saber to potassiumize bladekid's shrek ears. Bladekid now wants revenge for this evil act. Will bladekid get that FoRtNiTe ViCtOrY rOyAl! Or will he be utterly orgerhalled by the Sith Shake?

We meet bladekid on planet Womster, where the wise RED NINJA is teaching him the tecnique of gO sAlAmAnDeR! (Please don't take offence of this RED NINJA 0829, I just thought it would be a worthy meme to add. Apologies if it does) This is difficult for bladekid because he is always shreked in standard. Will bladekid pull through Burst Standard with his B3 00 Wall Dimension-S? Or will the powers of Lord on Xt+ Yard-Oooof him?

What do you think? Anything I should add?
I honestly prefer this plot over The Rise of Skywalker's any day
Find out next time, on Old Beyblade III!!!
Hi folks! Sorry to disrupt the memes, but I wanted to have a serious talk with you for the moment.

If you're not certain that you can make it to the tournament, please don't register. I always have way more people interested in attending than actually show up, and I'd like to give registration preference to people that actually show up or explain why they missed a tournament they registered for. Being completely honest here, "Signing up for an event with a participant cap and not un-registering if you can't make it/not showing up" is a warnable violation. It says for the first offense of this, I'm supposed to give you a 20% warning that lasts a year, that will temp-ban you for 24 hours, more if you already have warning percentage.

I have been told I am a total softie, unwilling to punish when I can educate, and that deciding to go easy on people makes them more likely to re-offend. But the truth is, I'm not at all forgiving. In fact, I've written down the account names of all the bladers who didn't show up at Old BeyBlade I and II, who took up a registration slot, and didn't contact me or post in the thread to explain why they couldn't make it. 18 people. I've been tracking the no-shows at MD tournaments. Because 25% of registrants didn't show up to I, and 33% didn't show up to II.

For a second violation where someone takes a slot at a capped tournament and doesn't show up? I'm definitely going to be issuing warnings for that.

Folks, these warning percentages last a year, and accumulating them leads to temporary bans. A day at 20 and 30 percent, a week at 40, month at 50, goes all the way up to a year at 100. Do not get yourself banned from posting and from tournaments over something silly like this.

If you can't reliably show up, don't register. If you register and something happens that makes you unable to show, post in the thread or PM me or message me on Discord.
There are inevitably no-shows for tournaments. Life happens. But if you no-show and no-explain, well, you get added to a list of no-shows we're keeping, and we're going to keep good records on this. And after this tournament, repeat no-show no-explain bladers are going to get some warning levels.

If you're already on my no-show no-explain list and you register for this tournament, expect me to send you a PM where I double-check if you're Reaaaally sure you're going to make it to this one, and ask why the heck you bailed on one of the previous tournaments without an explanation. And if you don't like that, well, then you have to show up for tournaments you sign up for!

And just so we're clear, if you've messaged me in the past and said "I can't make it, the person driving me is unwell" or even just "I can't make it", then don't worry, you're in the clear. You gave an explanation. And I hope to see you at the tournament!
?? ??, not the protein shake
Well... if you get people saying that this tournament stinks...
You can blame it on the protein shake... lol...

I wish I lived closer, cuz I would join in a heartbeat, but the location of the tournament is just a bit too far...
And by “too far”, I mean (2,443 mile drive) “too far”....

I wish we had more tournaments here in the “Bey area” CA...

I hope your tournament goes smoothly!

Don't know yet, waiting to see if

1. I'll even be able to take off from work that day

2. If I can possibly see if my mom will possibly go with me to the tournament
Can't fake that shake.

As wombat (I think) once said "My protein shakes bring all the boys to the Yard-S"
Last person to register can’t wait it will be amazing
Okay! So, if anyone needs to deregister, post in this thread or message me, and I can remove you.

If you don't deregister, and don't show up on Saturday, and don't explain why before the tournament, then I'll definitely be noting you down as a no-show no-explain.

Two of you, Ferg City and Chief247, registered for previous tournaments and did not show up or explain why. If either of you do it again, you'll accrue warning points which last a year, and with enough of them you'll be temporarily prevented from posting or registering for tournaments, and it will get worse each time you get more warning points! So be careful, and actually show up to tournaments you register for!
And here comes the inevitable deluge of "please make room for me in your tournament messages".

Folks, you had 11 days to register for this tournament before it filled up. If you missed that window, that's on you, there's nothing I can or will do about that. I'm not going to increase the tournament size, because 6 round swiss tournaments take much longer to run than 5. Don't ask.

If someone deregisters in the next couple of days, you can register then when/if a slot opens up.
Barring that your only choice is to show up at the event and get on the waitlist.
The waitlist is only started at the tournament on the day of the tournament for people who are actually there.
Usually there's a 25-33% rate of noshows, and so far everyone who's shown up early to waitlist at one of my tournaments has gotten to participate.
But participation is NOT guaranteed for waitlisted participants, only for registered participants who arrive before the tournament begins.
