WBO Random Thoughts

th!nk still likes to check in, guys.

I understand you and th!nk aren't on good terms.

That's why I kept it short and unbiased and just said exactly what happened. I'd rather not drag up th!nk because I don't feel it serves any purpose. He'll come back if he wants.
Yeah definitely, I believe it's becoming a big problem and it's a reason that many people are leaving/want to leave.

I really hope this changes though Smile

I don't think it's a huge issue, it's mainly in certain topics, really.

I think some of the issue is that since there are really a group of "core" members that are active with playing and posting and when someone new or inexperienced attempts to get into that "group", some members tend to disapprove.
Do not hesitate to report posts if you think anyone is 'ganging up' on a person or if they are acting very elitist, guys. It is definitely no time to be bitter or anything : we live strong if we can build strong ties with as many people as possible.
Well we still have Kai-V, if we lost her then it wouldn't go well now would it?

Not to sound like a suck-up or anything, unlike Gingas fanboys in the anime.
From my personal opinion, I think some of these new advanced members think there the top of the game. They used to be nice before, but now they turned advanced, they kinda change there tone.

They always think there right, they just ignore other people's opinions ect. Sorry if this comes off as rude, but I've experienced this in some threads.
Sending us a private message to explain your point of view can also ensure we pay more attention to this or that person, by the way.

I do sort of agree, talking in a way which makes them seem bigger, it could be for a good reason but I think we would prefer them as a guider we could all follow, there was a time where someone called recoil good(or was it fun?) and got scolded, I have experienced being scolded in my FIRST time might I add but I wont give names or else I would be scolded for that too, but it's not always that bad, some can still be nice, IMO Kai-V has gotten really kind from what she was before though I shouldn't jinx that, if they are strict, it's not without a point but I do agree it should be toned down a bit, I mean it's just a spinning top game...

EDIT: Oh wait I forgot it wasn't about people like Kai-V, my apologies.
The advanced members seem the same they used to were to me. Wombat seems slightly different, but he was always kind lf like that, I guess. TheBlackDragon is still his know-it-all self, hah. No offense. Stars and Geetster never post. Cake doesn't post as regularly since then. Time is gone. So, not sure what you mean Ryûzaki.

But yeah, sometimes I change my tone, when posting towards newer members. Sometimes it's slightly stricter, sometimes it's polite.

Confused

May I ask if I happen to be one of these people? I haven't deliberately changed the way I reply to anything since the promotion (in fact I usually forget I'm advanced until someone reminds me, haha).

I'm really sorry if I've come across as a jerk or anything like that.

I suppose it's by perspective, and by experiencing it by doing something wrong, people have a limit to how much stinginess they can take and people can make more mistakes than others and some are more delusional(No offense to anyone that is).

Couldn't have said it better, dude.

I personally do feel like there are times where I come off sounding rude, though I'd never try to cause any harm, nor hurt anyones feelings.

On the topic of advanced members' attitudes changing, I haven't seen much of a difference since the new couple were promoted. In fact, there are members like TʜᴇBʟᴀᴄᴋDʀᴀɢᴏɴ and Cake who still seem pretty nice, although this is only my opinion.
No need to indirectly (or directly) throw punches at the advanced members, guys. I'll admit that there has been a change in attitude from popular members lately, both advanced and not, but I don't believe it's serious in any way. This is just what happens when you get a bunch of people together, all of whom know a lot about something yet disagree.

The important thing is for everyone to acknowledge that what they're posting is their opinion only and not necessarily a proven fact.

Know it all? Confused

I didn't know I came across like that. I'm sorry if I made any of you guys feel bad; I didn't mean to sound arrogant or anything.

Well, that's encouraging. Smile

I shall hitherforth and forevermore attempt to sound less... um, know-it-all-ish, I guess (seems like the best word to describe it). I didn't know I sounded any different.

Don't wanna be one of those guys who acts like everyone is below him (unless I already have, in which case I really am sorry guys - I'll do my best to change the way I post if it's a problem).

Nah, your not snobby or anything and by this comment I can tell your one of the more aware and nicer members, even if you were mean, I could think of much much worse.

This is why being advanced isn't what its cracked up to be. I try to stay humble even though im advanced.
You, TBD and others are okay. It's just two certain guys who get on my nerves from time to time I'm not going to point out as I don't want to cause hate issues.

Kai-U is the best advanced member imo lol. He's awesome to talk too.

He's even better at tournaments Cool

We should all learn from this though, it's been pointed out that a lot of us have changed (advanced members included) and so we should change our bad habits. Let's just make the WBO a more kind and gentle place, haha.
Nobody knows this but KAi-U and Blader DJ actually run the WBO. Not Kai-V
We know, but Kai v is more present currently, and seems to do most of the work if not all of it, though maybe I'm just dumb *shrug*.

I said I might be dumb. . .
It's extremely unhealthy for a community that is not near as active as it used to be to have strict and basically unfriendly, almighty, above all users. It doesn't set a good atmosphere for new members and makes them feel like in order to fit in, they must act some way by being rude and indecent which doesn't help in the futures when they try helping others. It keeps spreading until everyone is a know-it-all and there is no fun in discussion anymore, a large part of why I'm done. The egos have raised, and it's to the point that I can not have fun anymore posting. With everyone having the same tone, it has gotten dull and boring.

Get well soon guys. I'll be online, but that's it.
Tri I've seen you before on my old account ( no one heckle me on my old account it's a long story involving fire) and you seemed like you were having fun, and I really haven't noticed a change (other than tiger becoming echizen) in the members. Anytime you have statuses like advanced normal and guest, there will always be ego inflation. Back when I was a yugioh judge for my school tourneys, I was very "hostile to noobs" but after I quit I realized that it isn't helping to be a d-bag and so I started lending cards and building top tier decks so everyone could have fun. But statuses can be good, as the advanced discussion usually proves, by having much more expert level content. So I think that ranks are both good and bad, but the bad is only due to natural human powerlust. And here I go again rambling. . .
