Generally it is merely that they are more repressed and sheltered. What you see as "perversion" is more than likely just normal human behaviour that you've been sheltered from.

Personal and parental choice. Mainly because we (me and my family) think that entrusting your education to someone else is a bad idea, and that schools restrict, not only the speed at which you learn, but also what kinds of subjects you are able to pursue.

We have one of the highest education ratings in the whole world, and in terms of what subjects you are able to pursue, well, even at university for the first couple of years things are not all that specific, and I was well prepared for university at least in terms of theoretical knowledge by my education at a fairly average high school - and you won't be homeschooled for university, which is where you'll need to go for a lot of things. The friends I have in other forms of tertiary education all reported that they were very much prepared (if not over-prepared) by their secondary education.

Yes, an education system designed for preparing students for tertiary education to get the qualifications needed for what they want to do works quite well, surprisingly enough. Entrusting your education to that system doesn't strike me as a bad idea, especially as I've been through most of it and was overprepared for each change - from primary to secondary, and from secondary to tertiary.

I have an extremely frail immune system, among more than a dozen other things, and combined with frequent surgeries and the side-effects of treatment, I was missing far too much school(and being threatened physically by the literal proximity of children), so I was forced into homebound schooling, which eventually just became homeschooling.

At the time, and for many years, I thought I had made the best decision ever to graduate early and so forth. It took seven years for me to realize the mistake I had made, and what I lost, by choice or otherwise, did not become fully apparent until it was too late to rectify to any degree whatsoever.

I simply hope others realize what they're giving up before they get to where I am. Yes, life is harder in normal schools, but you will be all the better for sticking through it than for running away. Homeschooling, especially in America, is largely a device of shelter from society, and as such, is genuinely malicious toward a child's development.

Given your stance on the issue being discussed has no factual basis and therefore is likely based on the word of your parents, yes.

Some of the things you have said on this forum have indicated it quite strongly, as I said earlier.

No, he's saying that if you are, the usual case is that it's harmful for social development, he's not trying to be insulting. And that sucks

It's based on both my own and my brothers experience in both public and home education.

I've been to primary school, and my older brother has been to both primary and secondary and being homeschooled has worked out better for the both of us. I'm not trying to say being homeschooled is better than public or private schooling, for many people it may be worse. But I think it should allways be considered a viable option.

You're still too young to fully understand the ramifications of that decision/opinion, as Hazel has made very clear.

He just doesn't realize the big picture I suppose, I mean, ,y cousins were home schooled until high school, so they still had that development. They got a great education from it, but I have a few friends who were homeschooled and finished their 11th grade courses, with no friends with an exception of me, and 2 other people. I hate to pick a side but Hazel is right, I've never been home schooled but from what I've seen, and he's said...

I must say that most homeschooled kids, have horrible EQ (Living example)... But that's usually balanced by a decent IQ. So I agree with Hazel, as well as Techno, but homeschool is still a form of education that is either equal to, greater than, or lesser to public and/or private schools.

I'm writing a list of materials my dad has to buy for me while Im in school. This year I be makin' ma own costume! Ima be a Pokemon Trainer.

We had a power outage in school today, haha, they closed school early, and I don't have school tomorrow

So... Anybody knows what Pink Day is?
It's a really big day at school, and it's when everybody wears Pink (obviously) to support Breast Cancer Awareness. We have all these fundraisers, which are really awesome; the school sells all sorts of things, from pink day USB drives to giant pink penguins (). Haha also I get to miss ELA as a bonus. Take that, mean teacher!

And... We have an EPIC Pep Rally on that very same day haha. I signed up to do the tricycle race and the tug of war (teachers vs. students, heck yes). I hope I get picked!

As someone who has trouble seeking out social situations and someone who's never been homeschooled, I do appreciate public school. In a world where book smarts alone probably won't get you as far as you could be, I think I'd rather sacrifice a "good education" for better social skills. Now, I'm not saying education in public schools is poor, and actually, I find it okay. But, apparently it isn't up to par as home-schooling.

EQ goes further than IQ. That's a fact. Homeschool... It actually depends on the student. For me it works the best, cause I'm just, honestly anti-social, so are my parents (somewhat).

Our school advises us to wear pink all of October if we want. The only thing I have supporting breast cancer is a bracelet. Some people really go all out, it's really cool.

Lucky, I am in Cyber School so power outages isn't a problem because it's over a computer and we have laptops and there portable. It has a battery to so it last a couple of hours at the most.

Uhh, so, for everyone who was wondering why I was homeschooled, here's why. Well, one reason is, the area I live around isn't the greatest, and both of the two closest schools have been terrorized by a pedophile dressed up as Santa Claus. The nearest public school wouldn't accept me, a four year old kid (duck) ready for 1st grade. All of the "nearby" private schools would, but my dad had longer working hours back then, so he couldn't drive me, and my mom is terrified of the freeway. Plus, she absolutely loved teaching me. So, it was decided. I was to be homeschooled.

I really am not, or ever was, a sheltered child (duck). As a toddler (duckling), I attended Karate class and had a few friends there. They weren't that close, though. I now attened a nearby Church, and even though most of the teens are carp, I have my best friend Luna and several boys as friends. Also, I have you all.

I know this sound wierd but strange things starting to happen to me......I starting to forget small parts of my childhood and when I try to remember I see a vision thats blurry and I get a headack also I starting hearing voices that is out of.my free will meaning it come out of knowhere and pop up random times also my reflexes are improving as my friend try to throw a ball at me out of knowhere and I caught it withought noticing and my strength raises when im not noticing as I threw a guy bigger then me on the floor and when I was playingbbloody knuckles with a friend he was stronger then me and beat me in arm wrestling he hit my knuckles and his hand was bruise in the first hit which was unusual as im average in bloody knuckles...i know this sound like something fron the comics but its all true and im kinda creep out by it

Yeah, that doesn't make sense. He's obviously turning into superman...

Anyways, I passed out... Again. I thought it was a one time thing from getting up to quickly, but it happened again. This time, I was on the computer (on here to be exact) and when I got up, I was being cautious and as I walked down the hallway, I started seeing blue/black then I about fell face first to the ground, but I managed to catch my self.

I was sitting down a long time though and I didn't take things very slow. I guess I just need to slow down when getting up.
