The storm was pretty rough, and knocked down lots of trees and destroyed a few buildings' windows. I had absolutely no power until Sunday afternoon, and there are still other people that don't have power. Some may not be able to even get it until this upcoming weekend. Dang.

Let me tell you, it really sucks to have a power-outage for more than a few hours (which is usually what happens around here during storms). It got really hot those days, two. Around the high 90's, I believe? This whole experience makes me realize that humans are becoming more and more dependent on electronics, which I can totally vouch for myself, by the way xD.

I know that feel bro.

When I was doing my homework yesterday, the power just suddenly went out. I had a huge bunch of homework let to do but I couldn't see nuts. I was like "dammit, dammit, dammit, dammit" It was around 8PM or so, then I went to bed hoping that the power would come back if I woke up at 2AM. I woke up but the power still didn't come on. FFFFUUUUU I waited for half an hour and finally the power came back. I had to change my clothes after that though as I was sweating like crazy.

So true.

TV these days is just plain horrid. I don't even watch it anymore. I got tired of the commercial breaks as long as the program itself and the horde of poorly-written sitcoms flooding every channel.
I've never used my television to watch any shows for a long time now. I only use it to play games, aha. Eee

TV has gone so bad that Im forced to be on the internet all day >< AUGH I hate it! I can't win in any channel except the Hub I mean on disney you got teenie boppers, Disney XD is carp, Cartoon network is only good for some shows and toonami, Nick and nicktoons have fallen flat HECK even TVland is slipping FREAKING Tvland! I never watched MTV but when i did oh god I wanted to puke I saw A guy on the "real world" COOK a dead fish from the tank and Eat it. Oh and Don't get me started on "jersey shore" AUGH I miss andy i mean he was a good comedian a good man he was very humble and he showed us you don't got to be raunchy to be funny. Most people beg to differ to them I say "just wait in a couple of years you're gonna get fed up with these new guys"

This is just pathetic TV has become carp and so did Music....thank god for the doctor and kamen rider...
@TV Discussion: I don't have cable/satellite/blah so I don't face this problem much, honestly. For watching TV, I have Instant Netflix instead. But I totally agree with TV/entertainment dying.
Going with what Clonetos is saying:
The Hub: I have no idea what they show on The Hub other than like 5 shows, so I can't say much.
Disney: We hardly have hope for this channel now. Phineas and Ferb wasn't that bad of a kid's show last time I checked. Not sure if it's going downhill now, though.
Cartoon Network: Adventure Time, Regular Show, and MAD were decent. For Adult Swim, the only shows I've bothered watching are King of the Hill. I would've watched Futurama as well if they still showed it.
Nick/NickToons: Danny Phantom and Avatar were good. The "older" episodes of Spongebob and the Fairly OddParents were okay, too.
I don't watch as much TV as I used to, these days I'm just on the computer or playing video games most of the time. When I do watch TV, I usually only watch shows like Sherlock, Psych, or I'll find something good on Netflix. I like mystery.
I dont watch TV as much as before either these days. The min reason being the removal of Animax from all DTH services in India. Just when I was getting interested in some of the animes shown on Animax, the DTH services decided to stop airing it in India altogether. I was quite frustrated for almost a week but now I stick to watching animes online.
TV really is going downhill. One thing I really hate about TV these days is Syfy. I actually really started hating Syfy when they changed their name from SciFi to Syfy. That really irked me. All of their old movies were beast, but now their complete and utter bullcarp. Only shows like Warehouse 13, Alphas, and EUReKA are good.

If I really think about it, the TV is usually just on MTV Hits while I'm on my laptop xD
What's up with pie? There's strawberry pie, apple, pumpkin and so many others, but there is no grape pie! I know. I'm just as upset about this unfortunate lack of development in the pie division. Think about it. Grapes are used to make jelly, jam, juice and raisins. What makes them undesirable for pie? Would they dry into raisins? Couldn't you just stick some jelly in a piecrust and bake it? It just doesn't make any sense... Tired
It's already used in another pastry (donuts), where it's injected in afterwards. More than likely (and this could very well be wrong), because you have to bake the pies in 350° heat, the jelly would spoil, sour, and curdle. It would be disgusting.
On Tuesday, I'm getting a tonsillectomy, but I'm surprisingly not scared. The only thing that I'm worried about is having night terrors. My friend had them, and his mom told me they were severe, but I had nothing to worry about. Way to reassure!

Maybe I'm not as scared because I know I'll be able to eat lots of junky, fat, slurpee stuff.

God, I'm such a fatty...
I've an appointment for the orthopedic surgeon on July 24th, I'm a bit nervous about it for some reason.

...Night Terrors are not exactly anything to do with a tonsillectomy at all, you know.

Most people are nervous about surgery.

It's not until you've had ten or more that you start feeling calm during OR prep. Trust me.
A tonsillectomy, although it is a painless operation, hurts like nothing else during recovery. It may sound awesome, eating tons of ice cream and the like, but your throat will hurt so bad, you won't really care as long as it soothes.

Pain is subjective, but tonsillectomy recovery is actually one of the least painful major surgical recoveries there is, especially nowadays. Don't scare people with your nonsense.

It's most likely a check-up. I've never been before.
If you do not actually have surgery planned, you're not going in for a "checkup" so much as either a consult or to plan a surgery, if you're going to a surgeon specifically.

That's probably it, don't have the official letter yet, but my mam queried a while ago and found out.
: I didn't state that part correctly. His mom told me that he had night terrors AFTER the surgery. She also said he didn't recover very well.

I also hope that I'm not one of the 0.003% of people that bleed afterwards xD
Sounds very individualized. Night terrors are not really an indication of anything surrounding it.

My own tonsillectomy was butter smooth and rather painless, even for my rather young age at the time.
The doctor who did mine pulled some "extra gunk" (his words) out, too. So that might have been why mine hurt like the dickens.
Thinking about voice acting... My chorus teacher recommends me because of my enthusiasm and large range. She wants me to join drama club, but I'm no good at physical acting infront of an audience... What should I do?
Better to try than to regret not trying!
Take bit parts first. Those help you just get accustomed to being on stage in front of an audience. Practice in front of a mirror, you can watch your facial expression.
Who else here thinks they have a high metabolism? I mean, I'm 153 lbs (early growth spurt) and I'm actually pretty skinny. I can eat the entire fridge AND cabinet and not gain ANY weight...

Feels weird that I do that, but I guess it's because I also play a sport, too, that it goes up a lot for me...
