And @[ThaKingTai], to clarify: were all of the combos listed there used to win a match in the first stage of the event? If any were used only in the Deck Finals (and won at least one round of a Deck Format match), they should be labeled as such.

Roktavor does extreme amounts of damage, it also appears to slide back in place after taking hits, I used it mainly to burst some Deathscyther I was up against in the finals. Gravity and Defense worked well to ground it and retain the level of grip on the stadium floor that Revolve wasn't providing.

It did this to a D2 in a practice fight.

Oh, so you never won any matches or Deck Format rounds with it at all? In that case, it should not be listed on Winning Combinations. Please confirm, thanks!

How tightly fitting is your Roktavor? My Valtryek is very tightly fitting in comparison to any other I've tried (including those of other members in the Toronto community), and that manufacturing variance contributes to its ability to be competitively viable compared to other Hasbro parts. And yeah, I can see it working like Valkyrie on Defense does.

I don't recall ever using it, it was just in my deck during the finals. It should be removed.

I do not own any Hasbro attack type Layers to compare the slide, but it seems tighter on certain Disk/Driver setups, Heavy Accel provide a tight fit, however, I believe it performs best when there is less friction between the Layer and Disk, on Gravity Defense it slides more easily but due to this I believe it allows the Layer to slide back into it's original state, I've seen it after it stops spinning with no degree of unlocking to the Layer even after taking several hits during a battle. While I haven't conducted any formal tests yet, during test battles at the last event it is noticeably aggressive at high speed (Sword Launcher was used), not only causing the breakage of the blue D2, but it ended up bursting D2 quite frequently as well.

I notice the same with Roktavor R2 and Roktavor. they can absorb easily hit and can return in its original position until the big tight zone at the end of the slide(slope).

actually I used in competition Roktavor Heavy Variable and Roktavor R2 Down Zephyr(this one CAN burst easily many D2 combinations) unfortunatly I haven't enough experience with those in tournament so I didn't get placed but really near. I hope next time I will get placed with them.

I'm a bit late with submitting these, haha.

Nothing out of the ordinary here really, a lot of safe combos were being used in the finals. Nice to see Lost Longinus popping up on the Winning Combinations more and more; it's potential on Hold is really something, though it gets blocked hard by Deathscyther combos. I personally managed quite a few wins in the event from using aggressive Needle combinations, with Valkyrie Knuckle Needle being one of my favourite go-to combos for this.

Ultra had some fantastic results in the Block Preliminaries, going entirely undefeated with his Deathscyther combinations. Unfortunately, the Deck Format seemed to screw with him there as Balance Blader managed to counter him. Balance Blader also went strong throughout the event (and even the finals), with the final round being a close 5-4 finish as I recall.

Poor Jay was subject to a 5-way tiebreaker for that fourth spot, in which two people dropped out from because of the weather. Still exhausted him for the finals though, which was a shame as he was going strong otherwise.

A great event all round though! :)

There's been some talk of L2 on Hold recently with many varying opinions on how good or bad it is, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts on L2HH. I see you mention that it gets blocked hard by Deathscyther combos, something we experienced in Toronto with DHD versus L2 on Hold at WELCOME TO A&C GAMES, but @[Wombat] has a differing set of experiences as he explained in the post I linked to above. Can you elaborate on that? What did you win against with L2HH in this tournament?

And all of the listed Beyblades in your post were used to win matches in the first stage of the tournament? If any were used only to win a round (or rounds) in the Deck Format finals, that should be indicated beside the combo.

It was D2 not D and the combo I used nearly the entire tourney was Odin not Deathscyther.

Aha, my bad there. I was sure that was Deathscyther in the picture I took, whoops. Wasn't it a Deathscyther combo that I lost to you against in our block?

The combinations listed are indeed from the Deck Finals, though a number of these combinations were also used in the preliminary rounds. @[Basedsamuraij] and @[Balance Blader] would have to vouch for what they used in the Block Round Robin as @[Syphon] managed their block.

L2HH was used against Jay's VKT in the finals, and once against Balance Blader's OGD in the finals, if I remember correctly. In the preliminaries, I leaned more towards use of L2SH and L2GH and won a few battles against Wyvern and Odin combos (specific parts, I can't recall), while also suffering a loss against Ultra with it.

gV was really difficult to burst, but its attack power didn't particularly impress me.

Also, The beardedimp said he just built his combo out of some random parts before the tournament, so it was crazy to watch him burst everything with it.

If that's the case, crazier that nobody caught on and countered him with an Attack type!

What exactly is "everything", though? Curious what it was able to defeat. In any case, seeing Alta do well with Roktavor recently and now this is making me want to test it again. I don't doubt at all that it can burst things, but just can't see how it could be such a huge force that someone could use it exclusively (and on Press, no less) to win an entire event.

He used Roktavor in every battle, but he did have other Beys in his deck lol

And I witnessed it against attack types and they just had bad luck with launching or something, I really can't figure it out myself.

They actually banned scynchrome upon agreement of all members (not really a ban but they decided not to use and all agreed) because to make it more challenging and fun and so people can make more creative combos (like Meteo. Which are otherwise not possible in STD). Even we are planning to keep it in Mumbai on 23rd April :)

There was total 3 (4?) Duos at event as far as I know. So CS + Duo works pretty well, due to it's low recoil it has good chaces against Left Spin too.

Another reason might be that DQ BD145CS used to dominate here in Mumbai and it's still kinda safe to use so I think many thought to use it thinking it will be good for 4D format (as it did good even against Scynchrome in Mumbai. though it now suffers Death [Pun Intended lol] from things like Balro, Flash, Dragoon BD145 and other things like E230/230MB/CS and even Duo 85CS)

Edit:- @[Ryan Uchila], Wing Virgo DF105R2F? Why not Flash haha (even Blitz would have worked)

God Valkyrie + Reboot is definitely interesting. It's a little inconsistent, but I found it quite nice to have more control and less aggression. I haven't fully compared Deathscyther 2 Cross and Deathscyther Gravity/Heavy, but both work fairly well.

As for Deathscyther and Dark Deathscyther's level presence, I think it's not really up for debate among members of the Toronto community that something needs to change. The lack of variety when it comes to Drivers here is a little bit disappointing too, but not the bigger issue at hand, in my mind.

Yeah, Reboot is surprisingly a pretty cool Driver! I've found some success with it in testing, although I do worry about its consistency like you do @[Mitsu].

I'll expand on LIVE ACTION REBOOT in my forthcoming tournament report, but I do think the above results are certainly representative of the situation we find ourselves in. Although, I do think this one in particular is skewed a bit more towards D and D2 than it has been in other recent tournaments (where there were more Attack types used in the Deck Format finals). Still, the situation is quite dire (more so for the first stage of events) the more I think about it.
