I finished this last week and I can understand why it's the second highest rated anime. I still ache from the pain Okabe goes through. Although it is comparable to Homura's situation in Puella Magi Madoka Magica ...

At times the awkwardness was so much that I had to cringe. But all in all, if you power through the first couple of slow-moving episodes, it defintely picks up speed and becomes enjoyable. But as always, towards the end of the series, everything goes to hell and you wonder how you got from the characters laughing over poorly made puns and microwaving bananas to seeing them go through unmeasurable amounts of distress. Good times.
I am currently watching Naruto Shippuden, One Piece, and Ghibli films (including the ones before Studio Ghibli was founded)

All dubbed by the way.

I encourage anyone to watch Ghibli films.
They are simply too beautiful to miss out on.
While I've been on my break, I started watching Magi and One Piece! Both awesome.
Right now, I'm on episode 23 of Ouran High School Host Club; unfortunately there are only three more episodes to watch, though. It's arguably the best anime I've watched so far! Smile
Im considering finishing season 2 of Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon once i finish familiar of zero. Know any good mecha series i should watch?
Finishing up Gunslinger Girl after a million years, and then I'll be starting Rose of Versailles and Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, which may take another year to complete at the rate I'm going. I haven't seen enough 70s-90s anime, so that will be my focus for now.
Ok, so this might kind of sound like a strange question. I've never really been that interested in anime (other than Beyblade of course). I watched Pokemon and DBZ when I was younger but that was about it. Going to AN has definitely made me more interested, the only problem is I don't really have any idea which shows are good or bad, and the recommendations from the few people at school that I have asked seem really different. What do yall suggest I should start watching as someone just trying to get into anime?

You can really go one of two ways—either start off with the mainstream anime that (almost) everyone knows and loves (Death Note, Code Geass, Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, etc) or ease into it with a subject matter you know (ex: if you're into basketball, give Kuroko no Basket a shot (no pun intended); if you play in an orchestra, try Nodame Cantabile or the more recent Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso).

Without getting into too much detail, I started seriously watching anime at a time when I was mostly interested in shows like South of Nowhere and The L Word, if you catch my drift. Naturally, I gravitated towards the genre I was most familiar with (yuri) and watched enough of that until I felt comfortable branching out into other genres, going off of what I'd seen in the anime I had watched, like mecha, psychological, and girls with guns. Truthfully, had I started off with something like Naruto or Bleach instead of taking this approach, I may not be as interested in anime as I am today or, at the very least, wouldn't have strayed far from the comfortable path of the mainstream.

I guess the problem is that I don't really know which genres I like, haha. Some of the shows people at my school recommended were Attack on Titan, Your Lie in April, Akame ga Kill, Death Note, Fist of the North Star, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's kind of a weird selection so I'm not sure where to start, so I guess I'll watch Death Note and Attack on Titan first since those are the popular ones. Thanks for your help!
Im watching Heavens Lost Property and I'm re-watching Magi and Date A Live. I forgot how awesome Date A Live is!
Watching Food Wars! Probably one of the better animes I've seen in a while!
I've been recently watching Rurouni Kenshin, but took a break shortly after Shishio died to rerun thru thev Beyblade MFsaga. I also rerun thru Samurai Champloo regularly.
I am currently re-watching RWBY. It's considered to fall under anime (according to Netflix and Fanfiction.net, it even got a commercial in Crunchyroll), but that can be debatable. It's an anime made in america by RT(Rooster Teeth), and it uses a 3D animation program (something called poser). The girls in the show DO look anime-ish.
Cory in the House is getting really dramatic..
Oh no, not you too.

Question, do you have a problem with people watching anime? Like, is this comment really necessary?

To remain on topic though: I started Clannad quite some time ago and just recently started Barakamon. Interesting anime, interesting plot.
