I had an awesome time today! Unfortunately, I only ended up with one pizza box, and nobody else brought cardboard, so Dark decided to can the experiment. We just played a regular tournament.

... Except for one thing. Nearly every match in the tournament, both players agreed not to use F230 (and may I just say, it was... kind of the most fun I've had at a Zero-G tournament in a long, long time. It was sweet). I only actually played against F230 once (in the final match), and, seeing as my opponent didn't agree not to use the Track, I went ahead and sprang for the mirror match and ended up winning 3/2 with Duo Cancer F230GCF vs. Killerken Dragooon F230GCF.

So yah, it was pretty much F230-free, which was super awesome and super fun. Some wacky stuff got used today. Stormscorpio1 pulled MSF Girago Dragooon E230MB on me at one point. TigeroftheWest (who did very well today) used Orojya Orojya 160CF IIRC.
I also used Duo Cancer SA165 WD. I used to much Duo.

I'm still not up for F230 being banned. Especially since there were barely any matches that contained F230. I would prefer if next tournament we "experimented" and saw how F230 would do in a competitive environment. No one has really used F230 in all matches and people not agreeing no F230 in who knows how long. I want to try it next tournament, especially since some locations aren't complaining about F230 but we are.
There was no F230 because we agreed not to use it, simply because of the fact that it was overpowered. That should be a testament to how overpowered it is.
Yo, suggestions were brought along ever since you guys started to boycott Zero-G and F230, so it really does not help that you just keep agreeing not to use it instead of trying those ideas out in the real competitive scene when you finally host a rare Zero-G event ... I even clearly posted in this topic and told people to use this tournament to really give it your all, at least for one last attempt. I had placed so much hope in this event to form a more final opinion for the F230 ban, but right now it does not help that the only Zero-G tournaments hosted at the moment essentially have no problem with F230, at least when someone actively uses TB combinations, etc. ... There is only so much that current tests can show versus previous Zero-G tournaments you played in can, as was clearly demonstrated by that whole Scythe craze ...

Anyway, obviously, congratulations for a successful tournament, and congratulations to those who placed; I just had other expectations that I thought I had shared with enough people ...

I agree with Kai-V, there's something off about this logic. No offense, I understand the point you're trying to make, but still.

I was kind of hoping you or someone else would spam F230GCF so we could actually see how overpowered it was, and maybe post a video too, but not this, where F230 was only used once, and then say "We didn't use it because it's overpowered, so therefore it's overpowered".
What we need to do is have a month where every region is encouraged to host a Zero G event and use F230 freely. I am confident that will bring to light the seriousness of this issue. The whole "agreeing not to use a part that hasn't been widely acknowledged as overpowered" thing isn't working and won't get it banned.

The only regions that don't use it freely (and seem to have the huge issue) is NC, VA, and MD(?), so it'd really only apply to the regions who ask people not to use it- everywhere else does use it freely already.

True. I don't think it's a huge issue in CT or Toronto, though I try to avoid spamming it myself.

Question: Does anyone in Toronto want F230 banned? Because that's really the only region that's completely opposed to it...
I up for doing another zero g event in September. Ill haventhe datenfirnit this afternoon. And f230nwill be innfull effect.
Well we are having a Zero G tournament later this month so you don't have to host one in September because IMO that's to much Zero G.

Not really, a lot us don't mind it because we all have been able to counter it with ease. F230 is not a problem for us, ask ~Midnight~, Mango, JesseObre, Pockyx3, Kei, and others as they have always been able to counter F230 in some way.

However, I'm not to sure on Kei's opinion on the F230 ban as he is a committee member and I guess he can't be biased? I have no idea though haha.
Could that have anything to do with the fact that Toronto usually uses all 3 Zero G stadiums? I've heard there isn't much variation between them, but the greater flat surface area on the balance & defense stadiums could give a wide flat tip like CF or GCF a disadvantage in terms of stamina, right?

At our last tournament we only used the Attack Stadium, but we still managed to counter F230. I believe Kei countered my Duo Cancer F230CF combo with his Duo ____ SA165TB.

Whether we use the Attack stadium or Balance or Defence, we're still able to counter F230. But I do agree with you, in those 2 specific stadiums it does give F230 a disadvantage.
Oh, okay. Just wanted to make sure that wasn't a factor that'd been overlooked in the discussion. It's definitely weird that the performance of F230 seems to vary by location...

We used the Attack and Balance stadiums in this tournament. Attack before the finals and Balance in the finals. We used a randomized to determine the stadiums but it keptmlanding balance in the finals.
Kai-V: Well, it was also largely due to the fact that we didn't have cardboard available that we decided to postpone the experiment.

Also, TBH, to someone who's experienced an F230-heavy event, the proposition of a tournament in which F230 was deliberately spammed is a very scary idea. I don't know that people are willing to put their beypoints on the line to try and stop something they don't think they'll be able to stop.

We'll try again on the 30th I guess (although it'll scare the carp out of me putting my points on the line for something like that with where I am in the rankings right now and where I'm trying to get to ATM). I know you're disappointed, and I'm sorry we didn't get around to it.

What I was trying to say, is that when competitive players deliberately avoid using a very competitive part based on past experiences with it, that's a good sign that it isn't something that makes the game a more pleasant experience.

Home results vs. tournament results is a debate for another day (especially if we're gonna rope the whole Scythe thing into it), but I have to get some sleep. I do want to talk about that, though, since it's been an important element of discussion throughout this issue that hasn't been largely acknowledged.
I did sacrifice my Beypoints to experiment with Hasbro's Scythe. As you see, I am progressively getting them back with some decent success. I placed the apparent good of the game (which was considered "broken" by Hasbro's Scythe) before my own battle profile statistics.

I was also told there would be more than enough cardboard beforehand, but OK ...
