Will recieve a $35 Gift card code to Four-Gaming

Other Information:
Please come prepared. It is helpful for both hosts and judges if all participants bring at least one Takara Tomy or Hasbro-manufactured Beyblade of their own and more than one launcher when possible. Additionally, parents of children under the age of 13 must be present for the duration of the event, as tournament end times can be difficult to estimate, and we would hate for someone to be left behind once it is over.

Be aware of your belongings. We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

All players must arrive on-time. The tournament will begin no later than 1:00 PM and is expected to run for about 3 hours, though if there is a large turnout it may take longer. Please plan accordingly. If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

Are these metal plated launcher grips legal for use?

It's B-109 and B-114. And it looks like they've been painted. I really wish people would stop painting them. From the Burst Standard rules,

Additional Equipment Regulations

"Foreign Substances & Modification: Beyblade and launcher parts cannot be painted, coated, or physically modified in any way that affects their performance except in the methods explicitly outlined in the green section below. Bladers who intentionally modify the performance illegally of their equipment will be disqualified and potentially banned from future WBO events."

From the green section below,

"Painting or Decorating Launchers/Grips/Accessories: Launchers, Grips, and Accessories may be painted or decorated for aesthetic purposes only. Any paint or decoration added must not affect the performance or originally intended functions or gimmicks of the part and should not obstruct your opponent’s ability to launch properly in any way. If a judge determines your launcher, grip, or accessory has been modified to the point of illegality due to such modifications, they may tell you to you switch to a new version of that same part."

If it involves the gears or the launcher spindle itself, not okay. Just painted handle/grip? Okay. Fake handle/grip? Not okay, but I suspect this one is real and just painted. Fake handles already addressed in

"Only official Beyblade Burst products produced by Hasbro and Takara-Tomy can be used."

These are official parts with some style. I was told last weekend I couldn’t use it because of the paint but I didn't find the need to debate it. I knew the rules but wanted to double check here to make sure I’m correct.

Appreciate it.

When the ruling was made to disallow the use of these grips.  Did the judge review the rulebook?  Just wondering if the rulebook is clear enough.   Did they check with the head judge or organizers?
The rulebook ISN'T clear enough, because it says "No, except see the green section" and then you have to go find the green section, where In Some Cases it says yes. The rulebook is written badly. I was in the process of writing a post that said "According to this, no" before finding the other bit where it says yes.

I don't remember if it was me who made that call or one of the other judges. I had my hands full at last week's tournament. And if it was me who made that bad call, at least it was for a minor issue. IF the two parts to it are indeed legit B-109 and B-114 parts that are just painted, it should be fine.

Ideally, people just don't paint the dang things and we don't have to worry about this question.

Understood.  I will take it to the OP team to see if changes should be made.
