Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST

Though I might as well bring this up here. A page or two back, I brought up me presenting a speech for my class. The results are in and, Me and one other girl in my class are representing our class in the speech competition, for the school! Third year in a row baby! xd

We have $5 Tuesdays at the local theater by the school. It's great for being in high school and dating, hah. I'm actually going next week with this one girl to see Frozen, since apparently it's so good.
All I know is that there is something about snowmen in it.
Funny story, the last day of exams (last Tuesday), we were supposed to go see Frozen at the theater as a celebration kind of thing but it snowed heavily that day and then exams were pushed forward a day. Now, instead of it being the 8$ Tuesday deal, it was the regular 12$ ticket and I guess a lot of us just sorta gave up on going xD

I guess you could say...you were Frozen out! (Okay, that was bad. I apologize for existing, now.)

Anyway, I have not seen Frozen. Read as: The girl I intended on taking kinda...bailed. I have very little luck with women as it is, so... (Compounded with a "maybe" upon asking her to prom... FML, I guess. Wasn't meant to be, I would presume.)
On a brighter note, Frozen is a really good/fun movie with a great soundtrack :3
Elsa is better than Anna. #thetruthhurts

I say let 'em burn! Argh!

Not gonna lie, I really like the soundtrack.
There, I said it.
Eh, I honestly don't know how you guys can like Frozen, haha. I watched it ('cause my little brother wanted to see it) I was board all the way through. I didn't find the soundtrack good at all. Well I guess that's 'cause I like weird themes like these:

Well you get the idea. Haha.

Though, the only thing I liked was the way they did the GFX. I'm not gonna lie, they're preetty awesome.

You have crushed the hearts of children around the world, and mine. I shall steal your SGMS and replace it with a Driger MS one for that.

Hey, you guys ever hear of Second City? My dad is taking me for some comedy classes(not this nerd comedy on the WBO, yeh, come at me Dual). Wish me luck! Grin
Elsa has become my second/third favorite Disney Princess :3

Fix'd for proper punishment.

Anyway, good luck with Second City!

I dont get the hype over Frozen either...
Intelligent humour is the most effective, its only downside being it cannot be fully embraced by idiots (now who is coming at whom?).
I kid, I kid.

Anyway, I have recently become very interested in social psychology, and am planning to major in it, with a minor in music composition. That'll make for some interesting music...
"I got a phd in psychology,
You think you're good well come at me,
I understand social hints and cues
In a battle of minds I win and you lose."

I put no thought into that, don't use it to judge my lyrical skills.

"I AM A PSYCHOLOGY STUDENT!" That was too easy.

Seriously. That reminded me of the old WBO comic a few years back. (Or was it really that long ago?) Anyway, any idea on what school at which you want to study? (No ending sentences with prepositions.)
I'm looking at Northwestern (ranked 14th for psychology) and University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (9th) right off the bat, but I still have lots of research to do, plus I'm a sophomore, so I still have a bit of time.
Hah, I never did finish that Psych degree though. I'm actually thinking of going back, but I'm still struggling with really severe procrastination etc - might be a solution round the bend as it is likely a medical issue in my case rather than a psychological/organizational one, so if that can be sorted back I probably will finish my degree (though I'll always find time for the WBO).

Psychology is a really interesting subject though and at least over here a lot of the lectures especially for the first year are pretty mindblowing (just realizing what your brain does and how powerful it is etc is pretty awesome) so obviously I'd heartily recommend it, but then I'm a bit of a psychology buff so ye.

Do make sure you do it somewhere that focuses on it as a science subject rather than an arts subject though - the latter is becoming less and less relevant as the field advances so you'll be doing yourself a disservice by approaching it from that direction IMO (but then I've always been very science-biased soooo...)

Glad to see I'm not the only one that remembers this.

But seriously, Psychology is pretty cool. I'm taking it this year, and I'm really enjoying it. Today we talked about psychopaths, and we watched an interview of Ted Bundy before he was executed.
I wouldn't worry too much about Freudian Psychology. A lot of it is outdated, but it's still important to know the roots.

That comic was freaking amazing.

Trade schools with me. I swear, the electives I have STINK. We have one advance placement class, and nobody's really good at it. (I think we had two legitimate As. Everyone else that got a C or higher never did work and was just handed a grade. Which kinda pisses me off, given the effort I put in on all those essays, while people got perfect 100s to my 92-94s without doing ANY work.)

I might take a college course on psychology for the credits before I go off and enroll at a university (Probably Kansas. Maybe Kansas State. Very remote chance of Texas-Dallas, for debate purposes.)
I really like my electives, so I think I will pass that offer up.

Every other day I get to have a chance of using a $20,000 laser machine, $20,000 3D printer, and some other cool gadgets.
The other week the teacher gave my friend and I five iPod touches and an iPad and had us laser etch things onto the back for the school district. He didn't even give us the settings that we needed, and pretty much said "if you mess up, not my fault".
It was really stressful, but we got the job done within two class periods. Pretty great feeling!
I had the best elective class ever last year; my C++ class was full of people who already knew how to program, so we would finish assignments in about a day that were supposed to take a week. This meant that the rest of the week was "play Minecraft and make crappy jokes" time Tongue_out

Also, I am really envious that you have a 3D printer. We do have laser engravers/cutters/whatever, but I don't really know how to use them; there is a class for them but I don't have enough free space with the other courses I'm taking.

And, this year, the fourth quarter of my Robotics class will be an independent study, so I'm going to get a chance to do whatever screwy project my teacher can slap a rubric on. I've been planning on building a Segway :3

Around twenty or so. I didn't get to the top two placers who move on but trust me, the people who did win, really deserved it! But anyways, third is an accomplishment, to me atleast. Smile

On the subject of electives, I'm pretty grumpy about the fact that I don't have any space for the super cool elective courses that they offer at my school Unhappy

I kinda want to do some of my mandatory courses in summer school to try and free-up some space in my school year schedule buuuuuut that means sitting in a classroom in the grueling heat trying to learn the same subject for eight hours a day, four days a week for a month and I'm not about that life XD
Best elective I ever took was in college. "Foods of the World." It was a 2 hour class where we would talk about a culture's food for an hour, then eat said food for the next hour Smile
