NECRO TIME AGAIN!!
I've found an interesting use for E230- I was going to put up a thread for it, but I figure I'll post it here first.
At the last tournament I went to, I used an experimental custom I was using, Revizer Killerken E230 (upper) CS. Now, while Revizer Killerken is an excellent Defense custom, that wasn't my intent with this custom. Rather, I have found that E230 is very good at destabilizing certain combos, and I wanted to make a custom that could make good use of that ability.
Parts choices-
Revizer-
I chose Revizer due to its excellent Stamina when paired with Killerken, its smooth surface (to minimize Stamina loss when grinding with other customs), and its relatively high weight, relative to Phantom and Duo, the dominant Stamina wheels currently. (Don't whine about Genbull, I'll get to that later.)
Killerken-
Killerken is on top of this custom to give Revizer a significant Stamina boost, and also to add a lot of weight.
E230-
E230 is the most important part of this custom; the up-and-down motion of E230 and plastic-on-metal grinding destabilize and sap the Stamina of any Beyblade that happens to come near. It also has the convenient side effect of giving this custom a considerable amount of defensive power. E230's lower mode is actually much better at destabilizing, but has much worse Defense and can get in the way of a wobbling opponent.
CS-
I use CS because, in order to get the proper contact on the opponent, E230 needs to be a bit taller than is achievable on generic Stamina tips. It also gives the custom top-tier Defense.
How it works-
This idea came to me as I was fiddling with E230 one day, and I noticed that, rather than sliding smoothly up and down, it tends to only push up on one side slightly, then jam at an angle until pressure is released. Consequently, as the Beyblade turns, the disk of E230 wobbles in a wave-type motion when hit from below. This motion, I realized, could be used to destabilize opponents by pushing them downwards or upwards. At first, the effect is nearly imperceptible, but as the battle progresses, E230's opponent becomes more and more destabilized, at an increasing speed. If your opponent happens to be on a low track, or on BD145 with something other than RDF, it will scrape and lose. If it is on any D-series tip (probably TB too, but I don't have it to test
) then the destabilization will force your opponent to ride on the tip's edge, making them lose Stamina very quickly.
Results (not formal testing sorry)-
E230 destabilizes anything on 145 tracks but Synchroms, which it has a little trouble with (since they are much thicker than regular MFB) and occasionally low hanging wheels like Duo and Scythe on 160 and SA165. It also has some trouble with extremely low combos, but when Killerken wobbles, it can sometimes crush the short opponent and win that way. This combo is supposed to OS Stamina and Defense types by either grinding them down with E230 and its momentum (from its extremely heavy weight) or destabilizing them and forcing WD or RDF to precess, or making BD145 scrape. It also beats Attack types, due to its extremely good Defensive parts. However, the combo can easily be OSed by tall-track Stamina customs, and, due to its ineffectiveness against SA165, it doesn't fare so well against a significant portion of Dragoon customs.
