I just subscribed to CoroCoro, so I should be able to provide scans for the comic and hobby pages (Digital imaging is kind of hand-in-hand with my major, so I know how to make good scans) I wonder if they'll release any cool Beyblade omake for this series...

I wish we could see how the bottoms of these Beys looked more, aside from the flat one on Valkyrie.

Spriggans are normally depicted as fairy like creatures, normally with a more dark personality or mischievous, so that. Valkyries are warrior women normally shown to have wings in norse mythology. According to wikipedia they chose warriors who died to go to Valhalla. Effectively they are Norse angels. Due to ragnarok being a thing, i think these beys are representing how the legends worked rather than the legend themselves.

Very interesting. Bakuten Shoot was based on the Chinese... Something to do with the stars, I can't think of the word. And MFB was based on the western constellations. Given the names we have already been given for Burst, and your post, I think it is easy to guess that Norse mythology as a whole is probably the theme this time around.

Something that I don't think a lot of you are realizing: The Beyblades that were being shown in those videos are not the final product, they were mad specifically for that show. This is most likely the reason why only one of the Beyblades kept "bursting" over and over, because it was intended. Companies like Takara Tomy produce event and photography specific products all the time, what you purchase in July will be much different.
Being disappointed about a 3-layer system is weird. Pretty much every Beyblade series has debuted with a 3-layer system (disregarding Bits/Faces, of course, which I think is fair). They need to leave room for the series to grow.
Exactly, I'd hope it's obvious to people that the 3 layers is just a starting point.

I guess that makes sense; I got here in like 2013, though, so I'm used to 5-layer tops. 3 layers just seems kind of... I don't know, restrictive. That's probably just me, though.

Aside from that, the fixed height just kind of bothers me, since after the release of the Maximum series height differentiation became kind of a fundamental element of customization in MFB, and that's really the only stuff I've ever worked with.

I obviously have never tried these, though, and I'm just speculating based on the video and the pictures - I'll probably get a couple of these and try them out when they're released (or in a few months when the price goes down, haha).
I honestly like it's simplicity, I would like to see how they advance customization but it seems fresh and easy, I'm quite comfortable with it for now.

EDIT: However, I would love to see some advanced parts to make battles more wild and with powerful parts.

A few pages ago someone mentioned that Burst reminded them of HMS, and I think this is a really good comparison for the fixed height "issue" (In quotes because I don't see it as an issue). Back in plastics and HMS days the height was always fixed for whatever base you chose. Plastics were kind of a mixed lot, but for HMS most of your customization was pretty much just the wheel and tip choice; height was predetermined by your tip. When MFB came out there was only one wheel so the focus of customization was the height and tip, and it wasn't until later that you could customize both the height and wheel in that aspect.

Perhaps later we could see the base split up into multiple pieces, but for now I'm pretty content with it being solid.
One thing that has me extremely excited is that they are bringing back the aesthetic of plastics and HMS underneath the translucent plastic shell, if you look really closely at the designs, especially in the four rectangles beneath the new title (like in Wizard's signature right now), you can see head designs that are very close to the angular style of the original series and the faces that they always had around the attack rings. This is one of the things that makes me most happy about the new series, I've always loved that aesthetic and I was hoping they would bring it back, and I honestly could not be more pleased.
Also, does anyone know about how the stickers are applied? they look like they are underneath the clear plastic piece, and I noticed screws underneath the Layer, so I'm curious if one would actually separate the Layer into two pieces and then apply stickers.
Personally that is one of the best ideas they could have, because that means your stickers will never get damaged, and that is great news, since stickers would only look so nice until you battled with them on.

Thought that myself, and while cerberus seems to disprove that by being of greek and roman mythology, wikipedia says there seems to be a similarity between it and another dog of norse mythology, just minus the 3 heads. I'm willing to go with the norse legends, but I'm assuming they are going to go with mythical creatures as a whole.

There is actually some coloured plastic underneath, from what I have seen. Look at this picture :
Knowing this, I believe that we have either not seen Beyblades with stickers yet, or there are simply none and all the colours are painted into the parts.

As for mythology, I really think they will not remain only within the Norse mythology; they will have to go outside it, as usual.
I find the burst gimmick very interesting, but I need to see the actual release top before hand. The 3 part top I feel is a very simple design and I feel that Takara should add some more to make a better metagame. I think they will eventually add more parts just as they did to MFB, but I also hope that they don't make ones with more parts too overpowered or these ones will get blown out immediately. Nevetheless I think it's all better than nothing and I think this will be a popular series.

That's exactly what I mean, it looks like you can separate the Layer into the clear plastic part, and the colored plastic part, and then hypothetically apply the stickers on the colored plastic part and screw the halves back together. In a lot of the pictures they have designs on them, most notably the orange wing shapes on Valkyrie, and it's hard to tell if the designs are above or below the clear plastic. There is a chance that they are tampographed on, though I'd prefer that stickers are applied by the user. Upon closer inspection, it seems like they do not have the designs applied when they are in the boxes, so potentially they are stickers, but it's hard to tell.

I see what you mean, but it doesn't look like you're supposed to be able to split the layer in half. It's only intended to be one piece, not two, so doing so would be illegal.
Wow, this is a lot to take in! Can't stay long, but what great news, and announced on my birthday no less. Eee

Really anticipating this new series, thanks for all the info and pics, Kai-V (and you too, ~Mana~).

Paint rather than stickers? I can totally dig this.
Thank you.

And oh, what is up with that banner ... ?!
Personally, I was really getting bored and sick of the Samurai Pegasis ...

Right? I'm hoping it is, but it better be painted inside if it is.

Oh hey the prototype Valkyrie is on the banner now. It's kid of bothering me though, I think you guys should color the yellow bits. Please. If not I may attempt to do so and I'll send it to you, it's really bothering me. Mind sending me the PSD?
We will not colour it ourselves; we will wait until better pictures are available. For now, the blue theme is really refreshing to me, Samurai Pegasis seemed cheap after a while.

Once we get a good render with the stickers on it we might replace it, but personally I prefer Valkyrie without them. I don't think it would be a good idea to try and draw them on ourselves.
I actually liked that Samurai Pegasis. Unhappy

But yeah, it looks real nice!
Eh, nice logo, I love the slickness and nice way it blends. I'll miss Samurai Pegasis though, but why wasn't it Ifraid?

Because (the original) Pegasis is the basis for our logo.
[Nevermind, please delete this]
Wow, after seeing the whole thread properly, I forgot completely to say thank you, so thank you Kai-V!

Also, if we do have tournaments for these, I'll be the best in Toronto at it, I guarantee Cool This one is for you, Kei.

ALSO OMG THAT NEW BANNER IS BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE IT.
