Well, keep in mind that MFB started with "Metal System", despite every Beyblade in MFB being metal. I mean, you could argue that it means ALL metal, but I think much like Metal System, Burst System is just the best name to both describe the system's functionality while also clearly delineating it from previous Beyblade systems.

Information that surely nobody cares about - but this video shows more than just Beyblades. At the end of the clip are two guys posing with a couple of blades and launchers for a press conference. The guy on the right is Harold Meij, the Chief Operating Officer at Takara-Tomy. He basically determines how the company represents itself. So it makes sense that he'd be there for the release announcement. The guy on the left is Kenji Horikoshi - Beyblade designer from the Maximum Series, 4D and ZeroG.

I have written extensively about Horikoshi's favoured "power-creep" design-model and now it's obvious he's designing the Burst blades, we can pretty much assume there'll be some massive power-creep happening here too. Conclusion? It's only a matter of time before those "clear" wheels become "metal" wheels again.

Well I for one can say that I very much appreciate you sharing this information, it's pretty interesting.
I also can't wait to see if you cover any more interesting subjects when the new system comes out, I really admire your work on Formula Bei, and I would be highly interested to see you go over Beyblade Burst someday, if you have any reason to.
Knowing it's that guy makes me even less interested. Definitely hate his design style.
This is a terrible idea.
I was like "awesome" when I finally logged in again and saw the banner.
Then the disappointment sunk in.
Defeats the fun part of breaking Beyblades into their parts, like in Plastic Gen.

Breaking plastics? Well, at least you have something to let of your frustrations with, just launch a plastic into one of these and feel powerful haha!
I have around 120-150 plastics ...
They suck now, bored with them.. I think the new system will get me into Beyblade again
I bet the power creep introduced in this series will involve the Burst effect and newer Beyblades will be designed to be less prone to Bursts, and the ones after that even less prone, until we end up with Beyblades that don't Burst at all.

I also don't think stamina types will go away. Beyblades designed to "spin real long" are always going to be a thing. I just wonder about defense types, since they are designed to resist KOs with grip and/or weight, but in this series they can just explode on impact. We'll just have to see how exactly the burst mechanism works.
I think they'll just change the dynamic of bursts in the sense that they have a more interesting effect...
All interesting ideas on the type dynamics, but they will have to way downgrade attack types, because the force WILL burst enemies no matter the type. Force is key for this type of design, just look at battling ultomate balance mode nemesis, which type would you use, attack. The force will change the mode in 3-5 hits

Actually, I Diablo Nemesis, and it doesn't change in less when using attack. For me, it's actually defense that makes it switch faster for some odd reason...

I feel like if they made it so it wouldn't burst on the future, it would ruin the series. Of they lessened the bursts, I think that will make us all happy : ]

If defense would have a lessened chance of bursting/more resistance, that would be great!

I feel like in the future they will make the attack rings metal; it will become the new HMS.

Well, they is my random thoughts.
SO glad we didn't have to wait so long for a new gen. Beyspirit reignited Eee !!! Norse mythology is a great direction and the beylogger will really bring the true drive and competitiveness of the game into real life. Not looking forward to the long wait for North American release though. Please let us know of any websites that will be selling them as soon as they release!
I am already saving up for this.Eee

Also, I really do hope that the "layer" will become metal. I want to see big attacks before explosions, not two mostly plastic tops grind against eachother until one of them falls over and loses its toupee.
The idea is cool though, but I could probably remake it by using one of the face bolts my little brother broke.

While this makes sense also do not forget the possibility of changes in how the burst system works or if there are unique methods at all. If another part gets added which I'm certain could broaden the gimmick.

What in the holy carp am I doing I'm getting too hyped and now I'm spewing guesses. Sorry mods

OR the different types could have varying degrees of "burstability" (BOOM just coined a new term for this series)? For example, attack types could burst the most easily of them all, so Attack vs Attack = a very short battle, stamina could have more resistance than attack types but still be vulnerable to bursting, and defense types could be the hardest to burst... That would balance this series for sure. But again, that is just speculation, like most of the other thoughts posted on this thread, so we will just have to wait and see what happens.
This is just a guess.

But I think the Bey might have a sweetspot of some kind, when hit with enough force it unlocks the bey and the pieces fly everywhere.

Or Perhaps the "Wing", "Spread", "Heavy", "Central" decide what force is needed to burst the bey, as that seems to be the 'core'.

I wonder how far customization can go with just 3 parts...
On the one hand, yay new Beyblades!

On the other, I kinda like the higher level of customization from MF and the exploding gimmick seems like a bit of a nuisance

I think I like the first hand better tho owo
im happy that beyblades are back but the exploding gimmick cmon takara tomy whats the point of customizing beys if they just explode there really no skill in this imaging the sensitivity of the beys 3-2-1 explode

As has been stated a few times already: remember that this is the first system/series in Beyblade Burst. Like Plastics and MFB, the system and customization will become deeper as time goes on.
Is the launch in July only in Japan or worldwide?

Japan only. It will be a LONG time till we get these beys in the west. So best to import them.

I wouldn't say a long time, but at least a year after the anime begins airing. They have to have time to dub it, of course, but it doesn't look like we will be getting the Beyblade Burst anime for another year since it's still in the early stages of development. If you want my guess, I'd say Beyblade Burst will hit the west in 2017.

2017 corresponds with what Zankye's Beyblade source says as well.

So it's a pretty good estimate.
