Did you get the rare event pokes from traders there (I guess so) or a magical machine that I missed that distributes every event poke? I think that surfing Pikachu can be obtained from Pokemon Battle Revolution, at least that's where I got mine. CAN'T WAIT FOR HG/SS NOW!! ONLY.....10 days...

Ugh, every store was sold out of SoulSilver.
EBGames had about 20 copies of Gold, 0 of Silver (It had already sold out after the pre-orders were picked up)
Wal-Mart didn't even have any copies on shelf.
I wanted Silver, but I guess Gold will do.

Apparently there was a machine error, if you'd stuck around then people were shouting out what was being distributed.

The machine was there for the day, that was it.
It seemed to last between about 12:00 and 2:30 PM, either way this isn't the place for it.
They were demoing Heart Gold and Soul Silver at the event, I'm pretty sure they must have been US copies of the game.

For me whose first actual English Pokemon game was Platinum, had to make do with 5 spaces.
Yay! Got my SoulSilver from Gamestop today. Also got the figurine, Stat guide(It only covers Johto) and I asked for the promotional big box game case and they gave it to me!

You can also breed a Smeargle that learnt Surf (through Sketch) and a Pikachu to get a Surfing Pikachu.

That won't work. The father has to be Smeargle for surf, but the pokemon that hatches will be a Smeargle. There is no way for Pikachu to learn Surf/Fly other than events.

Just Got The Game Yesterday! Up to Training For 2nd Sliver Fight and 2nd Gym! Picked Totodile!
As of yesterday, I'm two steps away from the first Suodowoodo. I picked Cindaquil, which is now a Quilava at level 23. I haven't played since yesterday about 5 PM, but I was on the Pokewalker pretty much until 10.

I'd consider that an event. And that Pikachu has a jank nature. At least with the Forrest Pikachu you can get a surfing pika with Modest.
Going down to game with about 10 friends to get it on friday. Should be awesome.

Screw that person who said their favourite Pokemon was Miltank. Witney's Miltank was giving me problems, didn't help that she was spamming the infatuation move, along with Super Potions.
I bought HeartGold; had no trouble getting it on Sunday, got to TRU shortly after they opened.

Is anybody else not enjoying the UI in this game so far? I mean, it isn't horrible by any means, but it just doesn't feel right in so many places; particularly the "Start" menu being on the bottom screen. Maybe this is just because I am left-handed; if I was right-handed they would make a bit more sense since I would be able to move with my left hand, and control everything else with my right. Either way though, they are just needlessly separating things onto separate screens. The D/P menus were OK, but even then, there were inferior to the GBA iterations of Pokemon.
