www.serebii.net

That's Serebii, not "The" website.

Anyway, there are over 490 now I believe.
...Yeah, those look like regular silver and regular gold, to me.

The PokeWalker seems like a nice feature, though.
That's actually the gimmick of the game...

It certainly will attract some people into buying them (in japan)

Dude the game isn't even out yet in Japan.
sorry, my mistake, will*

I don't think a pedometer would be the main selling point of a videogame... :\
I wonder if there will be a leveling restriction on those, or a really slow level up process. I just want to see the results after a 6 mile run XD

It takes more experience to level up each time in the actual game, so I'm pretty sure it would. I'm guessing it's going to be one EXP point for each step or something.

Take a closer look... It seems like new things will be added. Possibly to be up to date with all the games.

I don't think its juz a pedometer

Here's what Serebii says about the PokeWalker:

Heart Gold & Soul Silver is also packaged with a new peripheral; PokéWalker, which will allow you to transfer a Pokémon to it to train it up as you walk around your normal life.

And yes, if the exp rate is the same through out the training, I might as well as go to a straight, one way path, and cycle back and forth 1000 times and use that pokemon to own everyone in the rpg

EVs however come to mind. Best idea is to max out those EVs, THEN put it on the pokewalker.

It isn't even the main selling point, you're all forgetting, Gold and Silver was un-compatible with Diamond and Pearl while the rest of the generation games were (R/S/E, FR/LG)
Gold and Silver is also the best Pokemon game out there and is also the most requested for a remake. Why not buy it? The older ones had a save battery issue rendering them only playable for a certain amount of time. It irritates me when new Pokemon players who don't even know Gold and Silver existed say "Oh, what's so great about it? It's just got an extra thing." Seriously, no idea what they missed out on. Uncertain
Yes, it was uncompatible, but the PokeWalker can replace Pokemon Day Care Center (although you can't replace for breeding) and you're right, I need to max EVs first if I were to do that.

More importantly, if the feature can be used anytime, it'll be a hit.

And I'm hoping the Elite-Four's pokemon's level will be higher

You can fix the battery easily, friend of mine made a tutorial for it. Nintendo is obliged to repair the cartridges for free provided you send them to them iirc because their disclaimer didn't cover the internal battery.

I feel the same way, some kids laughed at me when I said Silver was a real Pokémon game once when I was playing it. Granted they were only about nine but they just laughed at the graphics and said it was a fake. ._.

Kids these days... =P
I have cousins who claim to be "hardcore" Pokemon game fans. They're 13 and have never even played Gold and Silver, nor do they know what it is.
Do them a favor smack them across the head, tell them they are not true pokemon fans. Sit them down with a Game Boy Color and make them play the game. At least till their head implodes from the sheer awesomeness of it in comparison to the newer games.

Yeah.. XD
Thank goodness I made my sister buy Gold before getting any other Pokemon games.

I know exactly what it is. I just couldn't be bothered explaining what it was so the first word that came into my mind was 'pedometer'.

I am 100% sure people won't buy the game just for the PokeWalker, unless they're a parent who needs to motivate their overweight child to excersice with videogames.

Can you please not act like you know everything? It's kind of annoying. You can't be certain on anything until it actually happens, so don't try making false assumptions.
ok...ok...

But the point is making more Johto pokemon to be active in the ds right?

Uhh.. what?
I am saying that some Johto pokemon can't be found in Sinnoh (without AR codes)

So the game can let you catch them...

Gotta catch em' all

It makes it easier, but I think you can officially catch all of the Johto pokemon by using the GCN, GBA, and the NDS games combined, but no one wants to do that. Tongue_out

I can't wait for this.

You can. You have to go as far back as Colosseum to obtain them all though, which is dumb.
(Jul. 06, 2009  1:15 PM)FelGrand Wrote: [ -> ]Gotta catch em' all

They abandoned the gotta catch 'em all slogan after the release of ruby and sapphire. iirc Nintendo decided it was dumb to try to use that slogan when Ash and the anime characters only had such a tiny percentage of the total Pokémon, and when there were so many it would be very VERY hard to get them all in the video games.
I think I'm gonna import Soul Silver and buy Heart Gold domestically. I don't feel like waiting forever for them like all of the other games

Proof of this reason?

The games have nothing to do with the anime.
