This really had to happen. Just for the sake of it, i think that even if nintendo didn't want to do this, they had to becouse the internal batteries of Gold and silver are running dry. Its very rare to find a running one these days. My copy of crystal doesn't save.
EDIT: Not to say that this game is a bad thing! Its uber!

It might run dry soon. By 2015, they should all be dry unless in mint condintion. At least i think so.
The real question is wheither or not I'll be able to glitch a bazillion rare candies.

That question is so good that it may be up to par with "Why does round pizza go in a square box" and "Why do you drive on a Parkway and park on a driveway?".
On topic: I doubt it. Debuging has gotten better since G1 and G2. G3 was all like "You will never cheat again without a 20 buck peice of plastic that will break on spot!". G4 wasn't much better, with awesome Debugging.
A bazillion rare candies would be nice, though.
