Nali: I sometimes use Stocks as BG, as it can make an instant scene, but What I do normally is a Black BG, and throw in some effects and such to make it more "Nicer than having a Blank BG"

It still a bit messy. Colors wont blend, try making it. Your first one looks out with the colors, and the other one? seems dead and text just makes it more terrible
