Yeah, after the events of the weekend I think I can safely say gravity is way too hard to get around in Limited. Even I managed on KOing a Flame 230 with it and quite strongly at that, and I've generally had terrible luck in that matchup before (because it really should be a bad matchup for all intents and purposes, let's be honest). It's generally a bad idea to use any other aggressive wheel in its place, and that's the big problem with Gravity right now in the format. You're simply worse off using anything else, and by a long shot.

Yeah, Limited would be better off without it. It could be argued that having such a versatile wheel being available makes creative deckbuilding more viable, but that only goes so far. Especially so in limited, which has a plethora of versatile combos already.

There is such a thing as being too versatile at that. D is the wrong kind of versatility for instance, as no modes are good, but when you mix in one of the best wheels aggressively with high Defense, moderately high Stamina, and the ability to spin left then you start to look like you're just doing everything too well to consider something slightly better at one thing at the cost of losing all these other traits. It seriously pushes out other aggressive wheels way too hard because of it.

This event was an unranked experimental event to see how balanced combos were without the driver that cancels out the entire meta Bearing Drift. I took things a step further by banning Drift as well because it was a problem before hand. Overall (besides some new players using hasbro) there were quite a bit of variations compared to the norm of things. Mobius saw more use, I saw an awakened rise once, bearing was obviously at play, and Blader  Isaisdario took a literal stock Guilty Longinus to almost 5th place in the tournament! So from this event I do think banning Bearing Drift does clear things up but there is also the fact that some wouldn’t like this, hence the thread about the 2 different rule sets with banned parts. Drift in itself though I think isn’t a huge problem.

(Any of the top 3 bladers please pm me if I forgot any combos)

SINK OR SPIN - 04/22/23

Toronto, ON, Canada - Burst Standard - Unranked 5G (Rebound Experimental)

This was a bit of a 'surprise' event and brief hello to Kei, who managed to stop by... (Click to View)

*Missing LivioC (3rd)

We ran 5G pretty close to how WBBA tends to do things (or at least did things), including the experimental KO rule. We had 45 first stage matches to 5 points with under 10 rebounds total. Obviously I think this number goes up in other Match Types where Attack makes up more than 1/5 of combos, but still, the event went well. All had a good time. Only issue is that I would definitely recommend keeping First Stage to 3 points regardless of Match Type, with first-to-5 reserved for Final Stage.

Huge credit to Beybat for making top 4 with mostly stock and 2/5 Attack combos.
