Going to address a couple of your points below:

OG:
-Naoki: Wasted potential. Again, I don’t hate his character. In fact, I find his character really cool and unique for his time. The problem I have with him is his wasted potential. He could have easily been a major antagonist, but instead was wasted (No disrespect to Lui. Lui is awesome). Overall, I feel like he has potential, but it was wasted in the end.
I actually couldn't recall he was a character from burst
because his story reminded me so much of Kite from Zero G
I mean, even
look at them

it's uncanny
Quote:Cho-Z:
Aiga(Episodes 1-37): Oh boy... Aiga... in the first three quarters of the season, this kid is almost as bad as Joshua. He abuses plot armor 24/7, and is simply a brat. He beats Lui in like a month when it took Valt... oh wait... VALT NEVER BEAT LUI. And then he goes on to DESTROY WINNING VALKYRIE?! Wtf. The corruption arc was rushed for Aiga’s development, and I don’t believe it was handled well(Tho we got Hartz from this arc, who is one of my favorite characters. F for Hades). After Z Achilles was destroyed, he mellowed out, and became a far more likable character, but his early episodes still leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm not going to cover Aiger
as I already have multiple times in this thread but I don't think he's given a fair shake and his story of being a savant that fell to stopgaps and then realized that it wasn't the correct path is a cool angle, and people attribute a lot of his writing to be plot armor unjustly
especially compared to Valt.
Quote:GT:
Arthur: Um... why? The dude’s only purpose was to beat Aiga and then break two beys(Rip Ace and Erase). Otherwise, he was irrelevant. And he got beaten by AMANE. Lmao. Wasted.
Found Arthurs desperation to stay on top, fear of losing all he had built up, and willingness to partner with the
clearly mentally unstable Gwyn to keep his image and empire
waay, waay more interesting than having some infallible tough guy like a Ryuga or Rago who's character depth stops at
competitive with the progressing protagonists and then stealth-nerfed. So he beats Aiger because Dark Turbo because it can
mechanically could shut off Gold Turbo, then when that becomes less of a factor after Gold Turbo is explored more, along with things like his Eternal Lock got figured out over time, he started to look weaker
incrementally, which I think
so much stronger writing than suddenly nerfing characters out of the blue.
Yea, I dunno, gonna disagree, I think as the audience for Burst gets older, hopefully they'll look at Arthurs character more fondly as a deconstruction of the anime tough guy, slowly be whittled and usurped gradually to the point that he just becomes a desperate shell of himself.
Quote:That’s all. Lemme know what you think.
Characters I do like:
Free: The dude is a complete badass in the later episodes of God. He was wasted in Cho-Z as fodder to Phi, but overall he’s a good character.
Free probably could have been utilized a little better in Cho-Z/Turbo for sure, but I do think he was the perfect first opponent for Dread Phoenix, as both of them were
gimmick bladers and the question of
would Dread Phoenix be beaten by Drain Spin, or would Dread Canon Crush win out? would have been a topic for power scaling discussions for years to come if they didn't give us the fight in the anime =p
Quote:Phi: I really found him as a good antagonist. He came off as sorta an antihero at first, but then began to show his true colors. The way he utterly obliterated Laban and Leopard was hilarious, and showed that he was not someone to be messed with. He also gave Aiga a massive reality check in episode 37, which was hilarious. They overdid it a bit with the “God of Destruction” act, and his backstory with Hartz was kinda stupid(But child Phi is so adorable!) but overall, I found him a menacing villain and a good antagonist for the season.
We
are talking about the same show where Russians vied for world domination in season 1 of OG, then followed up by a robotic Pinocchio vying for humanity through the power of kaiju spirits, followed up further by a guy who was able to naynay an army like it was nothing cause he was the loneliest boi in the world, so he's certainly not the most
eccentric villain Beyblades ever had. Also
shameless plug time I made a thread post exploring more of his character and
specifically referenced why their childhood scene is
actually relevant to the plot...albeit in a really subtle, easily dismissable way.
Agree on a lot of your likes though, burst really came through with a lot of solid writing and characters that are easy to fall in love with, by
far imo the strongest writing the series has had to date.
