Reaper DeathScyther D4 - 3D Printable Layer

It's here!

After a month of work (I had to take a break for the holidays), I have completed Reaper Deathscyther! If you weren't aware, I recently held a beyblade layer design competition and promised the winner the creation of their layer in 3D form. The winner of the competition was Jinbee of the WBO with his incredible design!

Now I am incredibly happy to present the finished product!

Not only does this layer have two heavy metal blades and four high recoild contact points, but it also has very strong teeth and a slot for a level chip. This bey also comes with the Crown driver, which is assembled using parts from a disassembled driver as per these instructions.

The rubber tip is surrounded by a free spinning claw which slides up and down, akin to Guard. After extensive use, the rubber will wear down and the claw will make contact, increasing speed. Until then, it only makes contact on the tornado ridge.

How To Print:
  1. Follow THIS link to the folder of all of the parts. Download them all.
  2. Go to Shapeways.com and select the box in the top left corner, then select the upload button.
  3. Upload all of the files individually.
  4. Choose the material you wish to print each part in. I recommend printing the Reaper and Base out of Versatile Plastic, and the Teeth out of professional plastic. Professional plastic is much more expensive but is necessary for teeth that won't wear down.
  5. If you want extra strength for the entire bey, select the BaseWithTeeth and print it out of Professional plastic.
  6. Finally, print the blades out of the metal and color of your choice. The blades are connected by a thin metal rod which can be snapped to separate them.'
  7. If you have an extra driver you can disassemble, you can order the Crown Driver out of Versatile plastic. All of the pieces are connected and can be separated with light force. The large mold is to be filled using a hot glue gun or other molten rubber to form a rubber tip, however a plastic tip is also included.
  8. When you recieve the parts, you MUST assemble it using epoxy to ensure strong structural integrity. Without epoxy, the metal blades are liable to fly off, the purple claws are liable to break more easily, and the teeth will not stay on the bey.
These are the prices of all of the separate parts in their recommended materials and colors.

I sincerely hope you all enjoy this gift. I worked hard on making this as true to the original as possible, and I feel that I have made a worthwhile layer. I have not tested this layer and the high recoil design of the pointed tips means that it is expected to wear down over time. Regardless, I hope that you all enjoy this layer and driver!
Thank you for your hard work on this layer and driver! I appreciate the time and effort you've spent on this. I think it's turned out amazingly and I hope everyone else enjoys it too!

The post has instructions on how to print it yourself. It's free for anyone and everyone to print!
Do you have a picture of how it looks after you printed it?

Can either you or someone else showcase photos or and/or videos when you have it?

Yeah, but colors probably won't be right unless I buy the right colors of filament. The scythes will probably be plastic, since my printer doesn't support metal.
Will you ever do another contest like this again? If so, I gotta up my drawing skills and make a design!

If you order it from Shapeways, metal parts are an option. 🙂
