The issue is less with "omg ebola is unstoppable it's the apocalypse" and more with "we aren't sending enough supplies to the people who need them." The rest of the article describes an acute shortage of equipment in the affected countries, which is the main reason for the dire prediction; with little to no response an epidemic will get completely out of control, but if it can be capped off early it's actually pretty easy to handle.
At the moment, I just don't see the world powers working together to make sure enough resources are readily available. I'm not saying it can't happen, I'm just saying that America has it's nose too far into the business of other countries (Like Ukraine) to focus on Ebola right now. Actually, Ebola probably wouldn't even be a problem if America had it's focus in the right places.

BASIC AND SIMPLE. THAT IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN, EVEN IF THIS EBOLA BREAKS OUT OR NOT.
The UN has no pre-existing functions to enact such a thing, it has no reason to do so, it has very little actual power to attack its own member countries, since a great deal of its strength comes through cooperation, and it would be committing suicide if it tried to attack a good chunk of itself.
To be fair, many countries (Including the United States) don't consider Taiwan to be it's own country yet it operates as one everyday with no impact upon the lives of it's citizens. It basically is one, it doesn't matter whether other countries consider it to be or not ;3;

Hey man, there was only one Martin Luther, and look at how he changed history! There was only one Galileo, and look at how he changed science! It only takes one person to change things, man! Fight the power! XD

There are plenty of diseases that are far scarier than Ebola. Ebola is just such a hot topic right now because it's getting a little out of control.

Yeah.
I have heard that Swine flu was a lie from TV networks to get you to watch the news, and that it didn't last too long, I'm not sure if it's true but I have seen rumors.
I was in middle school when the Swine Flu was going around (Eighth Grade if I remember correctly.) Someone in my area got it, and then I was given the vaccination in school. I can confirm that it was real.
