Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST

Yikes, he probably wasn't happy with it, this is way worse than my trip in Manchester, where I was pretty much pestered by an old catholic man who threatened to banish me to hell if I didn't listen to his TWENTY minute story of Jesus, wasting my time.

You should be able to decide, you're mature enough aren't you?

Nothing will change in that time. I told him the legal emancipation age was 13 (I basically threatened to stay at my moms 100% if he doesn't respect my choices) and he is still being very narrow minded and I can't deal with people like that.

I told him straight up I do not have any "faith".

He's still forcing me to go to church.

If you don't have a faith, you don't have a faith. Simple:

I don't know what else you can say if you don't have a faith..

Honestly, this isn't like buying a house or moving away, this is something about you and can only be about you. You are the only one who can make the decision if you belong to a religion or not, and you have made that choice pretty clearly, so I don't see why he is holding you back; that will do nothing to change who you are and your choice about religion.

Now, not to be that guy, but if he isn't going to accept one of the biggest choices for people, then you should probably stay with your mother.

I really hope it's due to his concern for you in his own mind, but if he really forces you, then I guess staying with your mother is a good idea, actually, just wondering, is she a Christian as well?
Yes, she is a christian. She completely respects my choices I have made.

Well, good, now I can say this. I think your mother is a good example on how your father acts to your decision, she's respectful.

I would back you up but:
1. He probably won't be convinced by me, an idiot.
2. I don't know where you live.

^Lots of really good advice. Read 'em and we can end the discussion on this board? Tongue_out
Religion discussion? I may want to stay out of this...
Just stick it out. I know it feels like it is, but a year isn't a very long time at all. I was forced to attend a Christian Fundamentalist church until I was 18; if I could sit through that kind of extremism and maintain my beliefs I think you could get through whatever kind of assembly it is that you're being forced to attend. Best of luck.
Did you remember that religious discussions are prohibited by the WBO Community Rules ?

Its not like he's talking about beliefs or anything, he's just asking for advice on how to make his father accept who he is. Besides, even Kai-V chimed in.

Yes, I even mentioned it might be against the rules, but like Wizard said I was just wanting some advice.

Thanks for the help everyone.
I'm a bit late, but as far as you dad, I understand where he's coming from. It's sometimes hard for parents when their kids believe different things then they do. For example, my dad made me play hockey for awhile, and I didn't enjoy it at all. He really loved that I played it though, and kept making me play. Finally, I started taking piano lessons and hockey interfered with that too much, so I stopped. But parents have these preconceived notions, that their kid will believe this, or they'll want to play that. It's hard when these don't work out. But I believe your dad will realise that it's your life, and your choices, and he will come to terms with them.

His house, his rules. I'm turning 19 this year and still attend weekly church services with my family, despite having been a vocal non-believer since the age of 13 (I will also be graduating from a Christian High School in the coming month). When you're living on your own, your family won't have any say over your life choices, but since they're supporting you, it doesn't hurt to comply for one more year.
Wow, this is really weird.

so today was a pretty good day weather wise, clear skies and stuff til sunset. Itlooked like it was gonna storm which isn't really unusual, but then my families smartphones started to go crazy woth tornado warning (Not the usual possibility of a minor tornado. it said to find shelter immediately and monitor local media.). Then came the electrical storm (this has happened one other time i remember and it wasn't this severe). if you don't know what this is, its when the sky lights up in short bursts with lightning. it got worse and soon it was raining too. so i go out to see the lighting (its awesome to watch) and it literally sounds like a freoght train is coming straight towards my house. i assume this was a tornado (definitely not normal wind). but it faded and the whole thing is over now.

Wow, crazy. We had a tornado near the area a few days ago, reasonably far away, so it was nothing to worry about. Luckily I've never had a close encounter with a tornado. I guess you could count the time I went camping (camping and bad weather are synonymous for me) and I could literally see four tornadoes around us. Granted, they were quite far away, but still.
So, delightful random story...

Tennis match today. Playing fine. Fibromyalgia kicks in in my back. I lunge, miss, and go to the ground. Stretchered off, injected in the back, wheelchaired out 5 hours later.

Wonderful.

If you have to ask members of a Beyblade forum, then the answer is probably neither.

Hmm, i kinda agree. Personal story here, i almost got with a girl, but i backed out. Thank God i did, turns out that same girl got another guy framed for a crime. Meaning, if i were dumb enough to be with this girl, i could've been arrested. Enjoy your single life while you can, like me.

We used to have a thread for relationship junk back when I was in high school and on the prowl. Good times...

Hey, i'd like to create a waifu thread just for lulz. Doubt that would be allowed, right?
I love how relationship advice overshadowed my almost crippling hospital trip. Glad we have priorities in check. Oh well...

Yeah, I was thinking just the same... I actually hope that the others just overlooked your post.

Yeah, Im fine now. Back spasms. An injection and several ice water-dipped rags later, I am fine. I actually went on to compete in the conference tournament yesterday. Won the first doubles match and lost the 2nd. No biggie.
