Unlike in regular Launchers, where just one gear attached directly to the launcher prongs' shaft meshes with the winder, the Sword Launcher looks like it has a gear train system consisting of three gears that appear to become progressively smaller moving away from the largest gear that meshes with the Sword Winder, ending at the smallest gear that surrounds the launcher prongs' shaft.
If this is actually the case, then this design should increase the mechanical advantage of the whole launcher system, resulting in stronger launches, despite a seemingly shorter winder lengthwise. Teeth-to-gear ratio is the biggest factor here. (yea, more science
