Hello everyone.
Some of you have probably met me at tournaments before, or maybe even your parents have met me and held a nice little conversation about Beyblades with yours truly. But those of you who do know me should know that I am a very competent blader. I know the rules, I can keep an event under control and am not going to vanish from here any time soon with money that is rightfully due to the WBO. I also know who I can trust to be a judge, and who is simply looking for that DJ face.
After surviving the apocalypse (caused by Lavos haha), all that is left of the world is a destroyed future with little hope for humanity. Warriors roaming the land find themselves drawn into clashes over food, water and any usable resources. Survival of the fittest reigns supreme. However, while those samurais are clashing with swords, NYC bladers will be clashing with with Samurai Changers, Ifraids and Pegasi at Samurai Showdown!
I will be cohosting with
Cyber Blader, who is also a well-established member in the NYC Beyblade community and is equally dependable.
Name: Samurai Showdown
Date: December 22nd, 2012
Venue: Hecksher Playground, Central Park, NY, NY
It is assuredly a very safe location to play in, and plus we have safety in numbers after all.
WARNING: There will be cold weather during this time. Temperatures are expected to be in the 40s, so dress
warm! There are snack carts nearby, but the prices might be slightly expensive, so it's best to bring food from home.
Rustled Jimmies Wrote:While Ga covered Stealing, do be mindful of who you're lending your items to. The best way to keep your items safe and in working condition is to not lend your items at all. That means launchers and parts; do not be easily trusting and always keep a sense of caution if lending your stuff. Hound on the people who you lent your stuff to, and if they claim that they haven't, do not hesitate to report them to Ga or Cyber. If you're leaving before the person you lent your stuff to, make sure to get it back before going. If you're borrowing someone's item, please be courteous and return them to the owner immediately before you leave, or to the tournament hosts (Ga or Cyber) if that person is gone. Also, and especially, please be respectful to the items you are borrowing. They're not yours, so don't treat it like yours. Meaning no chewing on launchers and no launching Beyblades into asphalt/concrete.
There are places around Central Park to get food. In the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle (across the fountain and the big globe), there's a Jamba Juice and a Whole Foods downstairs. Down 8th Ave are a Wendies, McDonalds, Chipotle, and other fastfood restaurants. Remember that hot dog vendors are horrendously expensive, so if you want to save money or get your money's worth, go to one of these places or bring your own food. Thank you.
Format: MFB, then Zero-G
I wish for a HMS or plastic tournament, but I know it's not going to happen and I don't have nearly enough older beys to lend out. This is subject to change however, if other circumstances arise.
Registration/Starting Time: 1 PM, Registration will occur in the half hour or more before that (aka at noon). If neither of the hosts are there immediately, sit tight and we'll definitely get there in time.
On another note,
STEALING OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. NYC has has a history of stolen parts and even unrelated objects like a 3DS, which is incredibly shameful. You and any family members present are responsible for your belongings due to being in a public place, but if either Cyber Blader or I find any note of stealing and can confirm that it was stolen, there will be consequences for the culprit.
Prize Pool: (1st place = 1st pick, etc.)
Red Galeon + Plastic Right-Spin Launcher
2 Tiger Defenser (green) + Smash Turtle (red)
Thunder Dragon (HMS) Light Blue Hasbro (no spark paper)
The prizes are old generation Beyblades, however they are sadly used. They are still in very manageable condition though, and are fully legal for play. They are also all competitive!
All sellers who have posted in this thread stating their merchandise will be listed under this spoiler.
