Who is ready for PA's first Burst Classic tournament? Because the format is still in its trial stages, this event will not be ranked, but still come out to try the new format, especially if you're itching to play with Beyblades that actually burst again. Most of the standard rules for Burst Format apply, but there are a few additional rules that I strongly encourage you to read up on before attending.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A BURST CLASSIC FORMAT TOURNAMENT. THAT MEANS SOME PARTS ARE BANNED. Check out the banlist, as well as additional rules about the format, in the first post of this thread.

Location: FDR Park, near the baseball diamonds and across the street from the skate park.

Side Notes
Please be aware of your belongings: We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

All players must arrive on-time: Registration will begin at 11:00 AM. The tournament will begin promptly at 12:00 PM and is expected to run for about 4 hours, though if there is a large turnout it may take longer. Please plan accordingly. If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

All questions about this tournament may be asked in this thread.

Need-to-Know Information

1. During Registration, Open Your Account Page

Open your account page on your mobile device (if possible) during registration to help us keep things quick.

2. Arrive On Time

You must arrive by the tournament start time to enter. We cannot add new players to an event once it begins. If you're running late, contact the host.

3. Stay Aware of Your Belongings

We do everything possible to ensure a safe environment, but can't be held responsible for lost or stolen goods. Keep your gear close by!

4. The Tournament Will Last At Least a Few Hours

This event is likely to last at least a few hours. If you can't commit to the entire tournament, you're welcome to come watch and play for fun instead!

5. Listen For Your Username To Be Called

Your name will be called when it's time for your next battle. If you need to leave early or take a break, tell a judge. Missing a match could mean disqualification!

6. Players Must Meet Regional Product Age Restrictions

All players in this event must meet the age restrictions on Beyblade products in their region. TAKARA-TOMY recommends Beyblade for ages 6+. Hasbro recommends Beyblade for ages 8+. Players under these ages may only participate with the permission of their parent/guardian.

7. Players Under 18 Must Be Accompanied by a Parent/Guardian

If you are under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must accompany you and be present for the duration of the event.

That was dopeeee
That was a very fun tournament! I made it to the finals, barely, with 4-2, using nothing but Orpheus O2/Spread/Eternal-S. The most common effective combo seen at the tournament was Wolborg/Heavy|Yell/Eternal. I shouldn't be surprised, given that Eternal Bearing and Atomic are the three top used tips in standard and 2 of those are banned in Classic.

Wombat came in 1st place, and his Guardian Kerbeus and Neptune builds were actually very solid against the ceaseless Wolborg attacks.

Also it was very windy and cold and I'm cold.
Thanks again for hosting this tournament @[Wombat]! I got oofed, but I had a great time and it was cool meeting other Bladers from the surrounding areas as well as seeing various combos in action (like Baldur Polish Zephyr and Trans, wow). I can't wait to host my first Burst Classic tournament!
This was super fun! I got shrekt by wolborg but hey, it was more fun than Br VS Br split second finishes. I felt like I lost because I didnt know how good WB and some of the other beys were, but I'm not mad, I had an absolute blast!
Love burst classic now! I saw some very interesting combos there, from DeceasedCrab using O2 S Et-S to the constant Wolborg Heavy/Yell/Spread Eternal mirror matches by many players. I used gK Revolve throughout the first stage and went 6-0 against variations of Wolborg Eternal a few other combos that escape my memory at the moment. Very few attack types on Xtreme’ which easily would have bursted my gK, but attack types in general have a very hard time beating Wolborg Eternal, I guess because it’s pretty smooth on the exterior. Overall, very enjoyable event and I can’t wait for the next one!
Sorry this is a few days late, wanted to get the spreadsheet done before making this post.

Thank you to everyone who came out, especially to those who helped judge or traveled from out of state! We had a 36 player turnout, so we ended up doing Swiss format for the first stage.  More details to come soon in the tournament report.
Wombat could you host another tournament in Philadelphia cuz they are so much fun
