Yeah it is unfortunate, he does make a good point regarding power creep and stuff but then it leaves powerful switchstrike layers as a problem.

I said it in the YT Premiere but it's my only guess to why there's no metal on the beys. It seems from what I can tell all Turbo beyblades are made to work with the Stadium and their own meta moving on. Unless they do the Hyperblades route and give 100% accurate parts it seems we're gonna get this line of Turbo beyblades.

Yeah, I know. I'm just saying it would be a good guess for the reason to if Hasbro did do that. I personally think it was to emphasize with the Turbo gimmick by making it faster, which I think you mentioned in the video also.

I'll probably buy these honestly, it'll give us something new to the table at the very least. Who knows these might be fun.

I hope they do the Hyperblades thing, called something like the HyperDrive series, which would work well with the "Turbo" theme they've got going. At that point, I hope SlingShock becomes more of a side series of Beys.

Basically, to sum up the situation in a few words, it's #MetalFury2.0

HUGE OOF by Hasbro. While I'll still be buying and testing Turbo Beys, the hope I once had for it has definitely dwindled, I'll tell you that. While this is something I'll be testing down the line, the only way I can actually see Turbo Beys being useful in the current meta is if you put them on Bearing, weak launch them, and hope for the best I guess, but of course, even with that, a victory is definitely not guaranteed and because of what you're using, you're already at a disadvantage. But once I get my hands on some Turbo stuff and test them, we'll see what happens.

Despite many questionable and bad choices they've made, I do have some legitimately positive things to say about these.

1. They offer something new, whether it's the change of layers weights or the driver gimmicks, it gives a whole new reason to buy these. Although I suppose experimenting with their own slopes already did that.

2. They MIGHT balance the meta due to their lightness, which would make aH and rP far less useful. Although they would have Sr to deal with still.

3. The lightness could make these really fast and fun, like a dual layer essentially.

But one things for certain is that if Luinor L4 is plastic, doesn't this kind of make it a downgrade to both it's predecessors? Even L2.

That really sucks. Explains why some of the parts that were red on wV were not red on Wonder Valtryek. The only thing they got rid of honestly was the metal, unlike Metal Fury where they un-gimmickify the metal wheels and gave some of them a different track and tip. Still not great on their part, though. I bet they're gonna go through hell from all the complaints that they're gonna get.

People are really furious with omission of metal, aren’t they? Honestly, I see a lot of benefits to the idea. Sure, Turbo Beys will not be able to compete with TT Cho-Z, but those metas were never really compatible and this just further solidified that.

While the choice seemed odd, at first, I like the idea, honestly. The inclusion of metal made every other Beyblade prior to Cho-Z (except sR) bad. I feel this will balance the meta more and still allow recent releases and the God Series, to compete. Although seeing “Winning Valkyrie” lose to a Gen 1 is pretty hilarious.

Additionally, the gimmick seems fun and different. Aesthetically, they’re just as nice, with some interesting changes made, thanks to the omission of metal. It’s still so early for us to assume it’s all bad and pointless and until we see the rest, I say we wait on a verdict. Additionally, Metal Level chips could be a thing that make these Beys upgrade. Who knows?

Of course, this is coming from someone who has all the TT beys — not sure how I’d feel if I was waiting for my own metal releases and it never happened. I like that they’re doing very different things, as someone who collects both.

TBH, the change doesn't bother me that much. Yeah, it's going to turn off so many fans and is kind of a downgrade from the Switchstrike series but at least we won't be getting ridiculously heavy beys that make everything beforehand obsolete. Plus, maybe the metal Layers can potentially damage their stadiums or break other beys so they removed it.

I'd honestly just put a little bit of metal but not as much metal to make everything more balanced. Besides that, I may get my hands on them.

I can understand if those who can't purchase imports of TT beys would be disappointed though.

See, I can understand why you wouldn't be angry, that last paragraph sums it up perfectly. Back then this exact situation happened to me and I felt so left out and super disappointed by the announcement of light unchangable 4D wheels.

If you have access to imports of the actual thing there's less reasons to be angry besides inaccuracies which Hasbro hasn't been doing that well of anyway. I'd imagine Hasbro only bladers who want a beyblade that either feels like an authentic Cho Z or wanted a beyblade comparable to TT's line would be upset.

Yeah, I've bought Hasbro up to Evolution, but I wasn't too interested in the slingshock drivers and now I'm definitely not buying them. I've always liked Takara more and will continue to buy their releases.

Hurts me right in the feels that I got attracted to Beyblade Burst by the so called Awakening tip included in the Variable Driver. I’ve been okay with Hasbro’s performance of the beyblades for so long but now. Hasbro’s really got me in the feels. They absolutely suck at making good stuff. First the horrible plastic on their launchers, their incapability to create a good Sword Launcher, now they think making a metal bey from now on is a total bad idea. They literally screwed up this time. But it’s not over yet. They still have yet to prove that they can create a Slingshock gimmick that Tomy has never thought about.

Beyblade Burst Turbo is splitting up this thread between the people who hate it and people who think it is a good concept.

I can see both sides.
From a negative standpoint:

Turbo is going to be too light to be compared to Cho-Z. Now Hasbro will be unable to compete with TT. Hasbro cheaping out isn’t optimizing customer value.

And yet, the negatives provide very little evidence, other than the fact that the Beyblades lack Metal. Hasbro is finally going a unique route and creating original Beyblades, and then everyone starts hating.

I completely understand this perspective, honestly. I'm fortunate to have access to both and don't have that previous experience with Hasbro because this is my first collection in a long time (I skipped the entire metal series).

I'd say Hasbro has made a lot of strong choices over the course of Switchstrike, concluding with the amazing Tournament Collection, which is likely better than any set TT has produced for Burst (bold statement, I know). This is the beginning of a new line, let's see where it goes and be optimistic, for the most part. This is coming from someone who has been hugely critical of Hasbro in the past. I do feel they have a plan with this new line and must've known there would be a negative reaction to omitting metal.

and if I'm wrong, which I likely could be, I'll eat my words. I just don't want people writing off an entire line because it's vastly different than what they anticipated.
