Gundam Models

PRINCEcharming Wrote:Any good Tallgeese models about?

Honestly, the 1/144 Kit HG isn't bad, but try to find the 1/100 one if you can. My friend has that and it's pretty cool.

And Artie, what scale is it? 1/100 MG?

Post pics up whenever you finish Smile
I'm thinking of getting some Gundam FIX Figuration sooner or later. Is it worth it? They look really nice when built. I'm especially aiming for the Metal Composite ones.

I wanted one of those FIX Crossbones or that Sentinel Gundam ones, but yeah they're really expensive. They look really nice, but aren't they just as tall as the normal Gundam figures (4.5-5 inches?) with a bunch of accessories?
k im gonna bump this carp up.

Planning on getting these (not all at once haha):

Thoughts, remarks, don't-get-this-model statements?

Are weapons interchangeable from model to model, according to size? Such as a large cannon on a 1/100 model being able to be held on a different 1/100?

If not, it'll have to be modified, right?
I'm not sure of what to suggest for those, but I use this site for a reference for consultation: http://www.dalong.net/
You can use a translator to translate. I'd personally Lucas's Strike since it's pretty kick carp.

Most of them should be interchangeable, but it depends on the kit. But keep in mind there's a difference between a 1/100 and a 1/100 MG. BUt yeah, if they don't fit, things can be modded easily.
Artie Wrote:i carp hate these things

lol which kit did you get?
Chocked_2

I'm still working on my:
SD Strike SWS
SD Strike Freedom
SD Destiny
1/100 Astray Blue Frame Second L

I'll get pics up eventually.
Artie Wrote:i carp hate these things

i got pissed off at how i needed to sand the thing to make it look nice

then sand again

then again and again and again

only for it to still have those plastic nubs on the parts
For that, I usually use a nail clipper first. You won't need to sand as much then.
I love the way my nail clippers have little files on them. I found one with a file that works as well as sandpaper.
I only ever did a few of Bandai's domestic SD releases. I knew I never could have the patience to build those bigger ones, simply because I'm sure I would have broken them in a fit of rage while trying to build them.
The themed Gundams from Zeta were rad as carp

I like this feature on some nail clippers as well, but it is usually too small for me to use effectively. =/

Also asking this (c/p from mechatalk etc):

I was wondering how one would know when to panel, and what colors to panel. I have read that some use a grey color, while others use black. (grey is more subtle while black is more of a pop-up/emphasis look?)

What panel colors would you use on different colored parts? How do I make the paneling make the model look more realistic rather than anime-styled?
Well I haven't done paneling yet... I've tried on old kits, but I'll wait until I order a fine point Gundam marker. I hear to use Grey on white and black on the darker colors. That's the only advice I've heard on paneling. There's also some kind of an eraser you can use to clear out excess marker and make it look better, but I'm not sure what type does it. Maybe a crayon eraser?

I saw some Bandai Gunpla video on Youtube, and they didn't specify. It's probably a soft eraser you could get normally, but you can use a hobby knife or cotton swab as well.
