------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all you UK bladers It's mine and LeeDraciel's turn to bring you another official tournament!

Specific info:

When: 26th of February 11.30am until it finishes. (Tournament will start by 12.30 - 13:00pm) If you do turn up after 12.30 there is a chance you won't be able to take part!

Where: At the bandstand
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=re...4&t=h&z=19
ControL_'s Guide

Directions to the bandstand:

OK heads up guys, you want to be taking the following buses that pass by (or are close): 13, 46, 82, 113, 187. The 13 and 46 are one stop away so walk around the edge of St Johns Wood high street. From here on, you wil lwant to enter the park via the entrance by the mosque. The Mosque is labelled on the linked map added on the OP.

Now train wise, you guys want to get the Jubilee line somewhat and get off at Bakers street (Jubilee, metropolitain, bakerloo and some more?). From bakers street station you want to walk down the road on the right of the entrance/exit for 50 metres, cross the small road and enter through the main of the parks entrances, you can't miss it! At this stage you will be at a duck/swan feeding area and on your immediate right is a big bridge. You want to go cross that bridge and when your across the 30 metre long bridge, you want to turn left and walk up that path. For about 100 metres walking straight following the path, you will reach the bandstand - easy! For this route you should use this map. (Bandstand at top middle, bridge is at the direct bottom : Route A

The other route, to get here you can get off at St Johns Wood station, get the bus 113/82/13 outside and take it for 2 stops to the mosque (then walk down hangover road to entrance). Enter through the hangover road entrance. From the entance you will see a largish playground, a pond; there are many kids yellow paddling boats here in this small pond, and across this pond is the boathouse cafe, a cafe. Route B map Looking at the map, you can see the pond. Walk down the outlined path hugging the lake. You should aim to walk all the way down that path till you reach the bridge as described in route A. Again walk up 100metres up the straight path and your there. - The bandstand is the small white circle in the bottom right of the link. Hangover road entrance is in the top right, to the right of that is the playground and the pond.

These are two easiest ways to get there via public transport and walking!

The main reason I suggested seeding was because many of the lower ranking players talked about not even getting a look-in at wins let alone finals.
yeah i agree with you bladestorm, but we all forgot about the point lee brought up about the judges.
mabye we can make a compromise of the group winner and runner up go through to a round robin final.
unless we do what we do when we do group matches like get all the matches out the way and then all the judges have there own group and they blade if you catch my drift.
it is a bit of a tricky sitch... hhmmmmm, we need 2 rethink this whilst maintaining the thaught of ease of tournament running for the judges and organisers but at the same time making it fun
tbh i think we should just all battle each other i fink its just the high rankers dont want to get beaten by a person who has never been to a tournemant at all ( i no alot of you will dissagree ) and its so much funny trying to beat a high ranker aka 'lee' because it is almost like a honour to battle some one like that .

Do you even speak English ?
I think the tourneys are really good as they are. 1 a month is really good and much better than some other places get and we should be very greatful that the senior UK members like Blitz and Lee run them since no one else can. Also yes I agree that the noobish players will probably feel unhappy about not doing well or getting to the final but you have to practise to get good. Another reason they win consistently is because the senior members apart from being skilled have always got the best and newest equipment. So if you have the newer and/or better performing parts and blades that will help your chances.
Lol, and taz, read my post, if you n00bs get better than you can be honoured and play the top dogs all the time, we are trying to make tourneys fun and fair for everyone as a whole not just you.
^^ Dont get me wrong tourneys are awsome!

Even just the free battles!

But its putting down to come to a tourney and just lose...
Get better then is your only option. I never win any large amounts of battles but I still like going.
Can i suggest we find a new/better venue?
The bandstand was wet and muddy...
I'm not asking for a hotel suite or something lol, but perhaps a similar venue to the bandstand but... bigger?

Even though we had about40 attendees the bandstand was crowded to the point of not being able to launch properly for the fear of elbowing a 5 year old in the face lol.

Well, not going to rant anymore - just a suggestion on changing venues. Smile

I've tried searching for indoor venues with not much success. I think the main needs are Shelter, Toilet facilities and Food/Drinks and of course space as ZE120 said.
it then becomes too expencive for tourneys to be run unless we can book like a room (like there meeting halls)in a hotel every month we can sort out a deal with them like yugioh tourneys as they have on average 30-50 people and i go to one in euston and cockfosters and they are all rented places but with the xepence of a £6 entry fee, mabye an option
Tbh I think we should just deal with the fact that it's bad in the winter and much nicer in the summer cause we can go on the grass. Also the fact that it rained did not help.
lol My dad always asks why there are never tourneys inside and was complaining that he got mud all over his clothes but tbh the amount of adrenaline I get during the tournaments and even the free battles makes me un-aware to anything around me not even the temperature or who I am battling XD
i know its been a while since the tourney but due to my damn build of assignments and revision for netwokring exams i have not had a chance to post in the thread....

Sorry i was not able to attend the tourney that day i have had to save my money for when i am going to be meeting with some friends from college this saturday...but anyways congrats to you Matt on getting your well earned victory =] you deserved it dude =]

i should hopefully be at the next tourney and shall look forward to seeing everyone again whenever the one is planned >_>" lmao
Just asking, does anyone have any video footage from this tournament? If anyone has any put in this thread or something please Smile
