Host: The Supreme One

Format: This tournament will be unranked and in accordance with the Burst Classic experimental ruleset. This means that most God and Cho-Z layers are banned! Please refer to the first post in the Burst Classic Format thread with any questions about part legality.

LocationThis event will be held indoors at Sage Mantis Game Haven. Please note that although WBO tournament entry fees are waived, there will be a $5 venue fee charged by Sage Mantis for all players, including passport owners.

Time: As the tournament will start promptly at 12:30pm, please plan to arrive around 12:00pm when registration will begin. Registration will close five minutes before 12:30pm, at which point players who have not registered will be unable to play. Confirming your attendance on the WBO event page does not substitute for registration at the venue.

Prizes:
Driger S and Dragoon Fighter Dual Pack
Surtr S2 and Odax O2 Dual Pack
Roktavor Single Pack

Other Information:
Please come prepared. It is helpful for both hosts and judges if all participants bring at least one Takara Tomy or Hasbro-manufactured Beyblade of their own and more than one launcher when possible. Additionally, please note that space at the venue is very limited! Non-competing guests are encouraged to keep a safe distance away from the tournament area so we can allow as many bladers to participate as possible.

Be aware of your belongings. We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

All players must arrive on-time. The tournament will begin no later than 12:30 PM and is expected to run for about 3 hours, though if there is a large turnout it may take longer. Please plan accordingly. If you do not arrive at the scheduled start time, you risk being excluded from the tournament. The software we use to run our events–Challonge–does not allow us to add in extra participants once the tournament has started.

If you know in advance that you will be late, please post in this thread or contact someone at the event and depending on the circumstances we can perhaps still include you if we know you will arrive soon.

From what I've heard, there are a LOT of combos that can be viable! The format is also meant to be more well-rounded than standard burst, so expect to see attack combos doing their job Wink This format is as new for me as it is for all of you, so no clue what to expect right now haha

I have a gently used Hasbro Black/Purple Atomic, and a fresh Atomic Blue/Blue Atomic. If you have a used TT Jolt, and are able to make it to the tournament, I'd be up for trading.

Keep in mind both Atomic and Bearing are banned in Classic though.

Also, I don't really have a critical need for the attack tip anymore, I ended up ordering an Obelisk Odin for an Xtreme tip. And, well, an O2.
EDIT: But after doing more testing on Xtreme tips, I've realized I have really bad control for them and need something a little less chaotic, like Jolt. :)

I may not come to the tournament,so yeah. Also somehow with with an LR string launcher I won against rP with Et with my stock bL..So I am having thoughts on the trade.
I understand. I got my TT Xtreme in the mail, as well. You're more than welcome to pursue the trade again at the tournament if you attend and if you wish.

Hi Epickblader, someone already answered your question - Twin Nemesis is not legal in Classic.

As for spectating, as DeceasedCrab mentioned space is very limited so only competitors will be allowed in the stadium area. Depending on the number of players we will hopefully have a separate space for free play and they are more than welcome to join in Smile

Understood.  My son is 5 and we don't have any classic beys.  We'll wait for a future tournament hopefully.  Thanks a lot for organizing this!

Bummer! Hope to see you next month though Smile
Ok, Count us among the people who are confused, as my 8 year old isn't familiar with any of the terminology for this format. We are bringing all of his beys and crossing our fingers that someone can help us find something for him to play with! He has some older beys from ebay so I'm hoping we can put something together.
I made a Google Sheet to indicate which tips/discs/layers are banned or not. It's several sheets long, with scrolling. If you're confused, check that. I posted it in the Burst Classic thread but most people didn't make it that far.

I am SO excited to host this event (especially since I helped create the format) Smile  Please PLEASE read the tournament description because this event will be very different than our last! The tournament will be unranked and although WBO fees are waived for the month, a $5 venue fee will be charged for all players by Sage Mantis Game Haven. If you have any questions about the format, please refer to the link in the description. We will be running Burst Classic Experimental Format, meaning that most God layers and all Cho-Z layers are banned.
Be there at noon. Yano, I need some parts!

Can’t find this place. My gps is not helpkg.
@[The Supreme One] can you post the Challonge page? I can’t find the page
Wow! Today was pretty wild. We had a much higher than anticipated turnout with 39 players versus the 22 who RSVP'd right before the event but everything ran smoothly and thanks to the help of @[Clfjmpr], @[Yami], @[SoulBurner], and @[Angry Face], we got through the first stage in just about 3 hours. We had several parents play (one of them even won the tournament!) and saw many new faces. I'll have a tournament report up soon, where I'll discuss what I saw and certain parts that proved to be problematic (Spoiler: Guardian Kerbeus and Takara Tomy Driger won big time today). Looking forward to seeing everyone next month for a standard Burst tournament!

Placers:
1st - NartyDNA
2nd- @[Tangy blader]
3rd - @[Jaydog311]
4th - @[LeftBurst]

@[Bladercliff] @[Bladervan] Since bladercliff's dad played for him this time, if you could create his account and let me know what the username is so I can update the spreadsheet, that would be great!

@[The Supreme One] he created an account. Blader dad Smile
A big thanks to @[The Supreme One] and all of the judges for putting this together and making it happen!
A big thanks to Sage Mantis games for providing a good space for a tournament. I'd come to the Friday at 6EST weekly Beyblade events... if I didn't live 2 hours away. I might show up some Friday anyway.

It was good to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones! I'm looking forward to more tournaments in both Burst Standard and Classic formats.
Results have been sent in! Feel free to take a look here
@[Tangy blader] please send me your winning combos when you have a chance!

Although the tournament was unranked, bits will be awarded to the placers Smile
