As per our own conversation with Hasbro Reps at the NYTF 2018 it seems the finalists will be using one type of bey and will most likely will be Hasbro, but it's not for sure right now. I'll keep the community posted as we have more news and details.

well thats a bummer IMO. they've been doing the 3on3 deck system ever since MFB, can't believe they're changing it. also... if the finalist is a Takara-Tomy player, it might be a huge disadvantage on him since his Bey would be replaced by a Hasbro variant, something he isn't used to.

This is why I hated the slopes in a way that these scenarios (championship wise) happen. It was all good in MFB since the name is basically the only thing they changed...

Seriously considering attending, but I'll wait for more details haha.

My biggest concern is definitely the whole TAKARA-TOMY vs. Hasbro situation. It really is impossible to make this championship truly fair because if it's mixed, it will be unfair. If it's only one brand for the whole event, it's unfair to the participants who don't usually play with that brand. I hope that if they choose to stick with one brand, they will send Beyblades and stadiums to all of the participants well in advance so that they can prepare properly.

8 to 13 years old?!!! I am shocked. Also most Beyblade Fans are between 12 and 20 years old so only a small portion of Bladers can participate. That's really sad news for the long time and experienced Beybladers and YouTube influencers. I've been praying to god that I can at least participate in the next Beyblade World Championship Qualification Rounds but my wish was not heared and I think I'm not the only one who thinks so. I've been waiting for 7 years! Why? Oh lord... why?! T--T They should at least make age groups like they do in Asia. For example one for juniors (8-13 years old) and one for BeyVeterans (14-20 years old).

I'm not shocked, but they really should be implementing a 13+ Division. It's clear to me from my travels in Japan and experience with the WBO over the past ten years that there is obviously a sizeable community of older players who are interested in playing Beyblade competitively.

I’m disappointed with the single league which they currently have for those between 8 and 13 years of age. Though, there is something kind of concerning about the France qualifier; the preliminaries.

The rules posted on the @BeybladeBurstFR Facebook page (the official Beyblade France account) reveals that the preliminaries will be single elimination, which will be a first to ONE point match. This is pretty crazy because one small error can absolutely destroy your chances of making it to the semi finals. At least it is a first to three point system, but with Burst Finishes being worth two points, it could be over quick.

And then there is the whole thing with the Beyblade Burst app.. grind hard and you could redo a single match in a part of the tournament. This is the simplified version of it, of course.

There is a code for an Elite Valtryek V3 which is used for this. The goal is to make it to level 4 or 5, which will earn your a silver or gold badge respectively. I assume you show it to somebody at the event (for France, at least, since we don’t know about other areas), and they give it to you. The silver badge is limited to preliminaries, while the gold badge can be used until the finals, I think. Or semi’s. It allows the player to redo a single match. This could be pretty important in qualifiers..

I'm not shocked, but they really should be implementing a 13+ Division. It's clear to me from my travels in Japan and experience with the WBO over the past ten years that there is obviously a sizeable community of older players who are interested in playing Beyblade competitively.

Oh yeah, after you qualify you have to pay for you own transport. That’s really unfortunate since some people live halfway around the world, they should find some money for those people, I live in the U.K. so it isn’t too hard to get to France rather cheap

I'm the guy that placed 4th and it's seperate from the world tournament.. here they only send kids below 12(there's a minimum age but i can't remember.

I want to let the highest level of organiser know that there's way more players 12 and above and also the ones spending most on their product.(I have most of gen 1 to 3 burst beys)

I doubt that's the case as the top 2 players here that qualified for the Japan tournament got their flight and accommodation covered I think.

Philippines also had finalists in the Senior Category of the ASIA Champ qualifiers. Everyone in Asia has a Senior Category (13yo above), well atleast in SEA regions. However only the winners of the Main category (8 to 12) from all SEA countries are the only ones who will be able to attend the actual ASIA Champs.

As I mentioned before, much like Kei's Japan experience... the G1 events of SEA countries that includes 13yo above players are only treated like a G4 event but with better prizes.

Pretty sure that it's also Takara-Tomy's decision since 8 to 13yo is also their target audience back in Japan despite the number of older players playing in both official and unofficial wbba. tournaments. They literally have the say to such decision since they're the boss, Hasbro only follows them. But it's a bummer that everyone MIGHT use Hasbro's designs instead, in which it should be TT's when they're the actual company who started it all.

ALSOOOO it's a bit of a discrimination that kids would be probably using stock combo hahaha. Well maybe some countries, but not all. Have y'all remembered the 2012 Champs?

This tournament will change everything for me. It is no secret that I want to win all my battles and become the top Blader in the world. And I hope that will happen. But any other beybladers out there who want to compete in the tournament, may the best beyblader win.

After I saw the announcement, I whipped up a meme to express my feelings about the upcoming tournament.

Still not sure what they were thinking, having it be in France... let alone not having different age groups, like Juniors/Seniors/etc

Yeah, make no mistake, their focus should absolutely be that division. That is certainly Beyblade's target audience.

It's just strange that they wouldn't do something like an open tournament for all-ages at the World Championship itself. No need to do qualifiers or anything as that would incur more costs for them flying people in, just let it be open to all-ages and anyone who wants to make the trip to Paris.

As a result, based on what we know so far they're making the entire event exclusive rather than inclusive. The main World Championship should be exclusive, but I think a more inclusive component to the event as a whole would be appropriate. And based on all of the comments I've been reading everywhere the championship has been posted about, it is desired by the community too.
