I think I might have a vague idea of who the shadow is, it's both Ranjiro AND Daina. Maybe Daina asked Ranjiro to send him to the Bombers Gym ( I somewhat forgot part of the preview ), and Ranjiro brought him in while also having no idea who Daina is.

It could be a new character but it would have to be a new side character who will serve a similar role to Wakiya who won’t battle. It’s definitely not a new blader since all the upcoming releases have been revealed to belong  to existing characters and there is no way a new release will appear months after its anime appearance right when the anime is about to end. It may be Daigo assuming the new Deathscyther is appearing in the anime.
