Thanks to everyone for coming out, and I sincerely hope to see you all next time!
X MARKS THE SPOT! - 07/29/23
Toronto, ON, Canada - X Format - Unranked 1on1 Experimental

This event was a start-to-finish 1on1 Match Type tournament and our first full-fledged X event in Toronto! 14 players for Swiss compared to guidelines' 16, making this a kind of experimental event.

With that in mind.. given how fast X is already, I would recommend going sticking to guidelines unless you have many new players and want to be afforded Swiss' larger pool of finalists in order to give a more "complete" tournament experience. In that case close-to-guidelines turnout like this weekend's event is nice.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES REDUX - 07/29/23
Toronto, ON, Canada - MFL Format - Unranked WBO RR Club (Shin TA)

As is custom with Metal Fight here recently, low turnout but a disproportionate amount of fun. We got together roughly 20 combos for people to use in our round robin Deck Format.
We also decided to do a weird 5G double elimination "Finals" with everyone playing all over again right after. One tip repeat was allowed. This went super well, but keeping track of what decks won was very difficult. Sorry about that.

There was a lot of Firefuse 230 and Rock, I can say that. Very, very fun event. Big thanks to Hato for getting baited. Congratulations to "sweepcake" for making their crazy appearance in 5G.

3rd: cheesecxke (5G)!

As usual, a ton of fun. People are really missing out when they don't attend the sleeper MFB stuff. Weather was awesome at this point in the afternoon.
Brother, I ran Hellscythe 4-80 B in the 3rd place match that I lost to Henwooja1 just in case you wanted to know.

It was an amazing event though!! I can't wait for the next one!

We also ask that organizers share the winning combinations of their event’s top 3 Bladers in the Winning Combinations Topic.

Combinations should only be listed if they were used to win a match in the First Stage, or won at least one battle within a match that the user won during the Final Stage. The latter must be indicated with “(Finals Only)” beside the combination name when posted.

Actually the only expectation is to not flood the list with combos. Perhaps the wording should be changed here to make it mandatory for first stage combos. This section is not well written and could be interpreted differently depending on who reads it. Orgs have been doing more and/or less than this for years with no issue.
Thanks KIO🙏

To me the implication that both stages are to be posted is clear - "used to win a match in the first stage, or". It's also how most organisers have been doing it for a long time now. I guess with some effort I can see where you're coming from, but it's not correct.

Either way, my post was intended to cover clarification going forward - having the data has always been the intent, and I'd held off saying much till now for various reasons but with a new series dawning it's best to make sure we're getting the data necessary to start building community knowledge early. I'll take your feedback re clarity on board though and see if it can be reworded somewhat, and appreciate the insight you've provided.

For what it's worth - I don't expect you or anyone to go back and do detective work on past events btw (though I appreciate Mr Memes doing so), just a heads up for the future 😊

I appreciate your opinion but wont be changing how i do winning combos until an organized play staff member says its a problem. Dont you do advertising? I would love to hear from staff or orgs who host events regularly.
