Toys R Us Tournaments

So here's an update on what happened in the tournament. There were a lot of little kids there (duh.) and they gave us some new beyblades to use, only from Metal Masters, no Metal Fury. I used SonoKong Beyblades there since it wasn't actually a real tournament. Everybody got huge facebolt stickers, a wristband, and a "collectors card". The lady running the "tournament" said, "WHAT? I'm going to buy some of these for my kids!" When she saw the Final Drive on my Big Bang Pegasis, and how it worked, hah. So yeah, there was no prize or anything, just the thigs mentioned above. Oh, and the stadiums were all from way back... Metal Fusion.

You really cannot claim that I had not warned you enough, hah. This is one of the reasons this organisation still exists, besides the age limits, stadiums, real competitiveness, etc.

Anyways, I'm entered for the grand prize draw. Grin I won a Beyblade Metal Masters Destroyer Dome, Black Sun Galaxy Pegasus, 9 codes, Variares, Beat Lynx, Spiral Lyre, Spiral Fox, Beyblade Official Handbook, Flame Saggitario Keychain, 4 launchers, a Beyblade bag, and a Beyblade T-Shirt. It was EPIC. I used Scythe Kronos and Beat Lynx :3

Aha, awesome!

JesseObre and I went to the tournament at Sherway Gardens. They reached the maximum of 32 Bladers as well. We distributed a handful of WBO Promo Cards ... so hopefully at least a few new people show up at our tournament tomorrow! Here are a few pictures I shot with my (crappy) cell phone camera:

A few notes:
- The tournament was surprisingly well organized. Then again, it isn't that hard to manage a 32-Player Single Elimination tournament lol.
- I'm not entirely sure, but it seemed as if some players were using their own grips during the tournament. Is this normally allowed?
- I noticed after the tournament that one kid was using what seemed to be a red version of the original TAKARA-TOMY MFB Winders. I assumed it was fake, since I can't recall them ever producing that winder in any colour but black.
At my Toys R Us there was 16 people there. We had to use stock beys. I lost in the semifinals because I ended up getting stuck with Vulcan Horuseus against Spiral Herculeo S130 WD.My friend won and all he got was a code lol.
just got back and i can say it wasnt that bad
there was only 8 kids though but hey im not complainin got a free custumized bey i made
Mines wasn't organized i got to ply LOL but i didn't use top Class gear wouldn't be Fare to the other little kids
How would they know if you're over the age limit? Would they actually do identification at something as low key as a 32 person Toys R Us tournament?
I went to Toys "R" Us with Grimlock and we were the only ones there. The employees were being disorganized, and we got tired of battling ourselves in Hasbro Stadiums, so we left after 10-15 minutes. Once again, my local TRU lies about having a "tournament" and just has free play battles in Hasderp Stadiums and optional Hasderp Beys.

I don't get how the website said they had an age limit because they couldn't care less about my age. Plus, there was NO "tournament". At least not at Atlanta TRU's.
Ha. I should have gone anyway. Thought it was only in Canada, so I didn't even look into it. I could use a few free beys right now...
So today there was one from 12-2pm and I got there and it was just a beyblade demo! No battles nothing, worst part is I saw about 7 people there launchers in hard and beys ready to play but nope.
Wow, that was terrible. My nephew and I were the only ones who showed up. The employee manning the "tournament" table had no idea what the beys were called, let alone how to launch them. He had like four Forbidden Strikers and four L-Drago somethings from metal fury two-packs. It was essentially a product demo.
Edit: oh yeah, and he gave my nephew a huge sharpie marker for "winning." Wat.
At mine my friend got 3 beyblades and a stadium, I got 2 beyblades. It was fun, we creamed, and we helped little kids learn about beyblades. And we told bladders about the WBO. It was fun and we got lots of free stuff! ( I love free stuff, especially free beyblades.)
I got back from a long day plus the TRU thing. It was a huge disapointment.. Truley.

That's the same thing I got. Which one did you go to?
at least you guys got a tourney. The last time that I went to one, I think was maybe last year, there was no one there to organize it and people there didn't even know what beyblade was it was bad.
So I Finished The Tourney.Turns Out it was Cancelled. But We Still Played Beyblade. We Also Got Wristbands Grin
Well..this bites.. bigtime. Im ashamed and kind of embarrassed of being the only one who showed up. XD

You got all that for free or was that the grand prize?
Mine was kinda disappointing. Hardly anyone showed up and it was over in about an hour. Not only that, but the only prize was a wristband and we couldn't use our own beys!
Must admit, regarding those bands, the red ones they had last year are MUCH more appealing. Oh well ...
