I cannot remember where we had concluded the discussion about this, but it is confirmed that there is an NFC chip inside the Layer, and you even see precisely where thanks to this picture with the arrow :

The text says something about the Bey's data, so knowing that TAKARA-TOMY's BeyCloud marketing ideas include a web application with a list of all Beyblade parts, among other things, the NFC chip in the Beyblade might just be used to scan it and know more about it ?

Because otherwise, recording match results with the BeyLogger really works by touching both opponents' BeyLoggers together; there is nothing after the battle involving the Beyblade, it seems.

Naming system is cool. Beylogger is cool. NFC-equipped Beyblades is really cool. But these are all "nice-to-haves" and none of them matter if the core gameplay is bad, as it appears to be.

This is actually really similar to what Sporkseller talked about a while back. Trying to mooch off of the success skylanders has had with NFC figurines. I think its safe to assume the NFC tie-in is for video game potential. Something along the lines of where continued use in the game makes the pieces of the blade more powerful in the game. On a side note, I actually had the idea for the in-game explosions a while back, only I came up with the name Shredder tops. I'm really excited about this as executed well this could drastically increase the excitement level of any given battle.

The NFC just being used for scanning "info" makes more sense. It's similar to what's being done with Transformers RID with both Takara and Hasbro. Each figure has a sticker (obviously not NFC but the same idea) that is scanned by the app and unlocks a character or item in the game. So I could see it taking a route more that along that way.

I could've sworn I read in a Japanese article that the NFC was also used for battle records. Guess we'll soon see.

The Beylogger's are being used to keep an online database of who has the most points, it's possible that the NFC chip could be to keep track of what Beyblade they're using to do so well. Think about it, we know which parts are best because we're a large community that's always testing them out. Japan doesn't really have anything like that, so of course it would be cool to see who's using what.

Edit: I didn't think about this before, but the NFC chip is only in the layer so it would have no way to know which Disk or Driver you're using. Forget I said anything

It will probably be only in Japanese. If Hasbro brings the Beylogger's to the west when the series gets localized we may get an English version of the app, but for now you should only expect Japanese. The series will get released in the rest of Asia much quicker than the west, though; so you should see a Chinese or Korean version somewhat quickly.

Some users here know Japanese, and Kai-V and myself know a little. I'm sure we'll get a guide going so that you can use it yourself.

From the way they rotate, I'm presuming that Defense drivers are more resistant and have a more tighter click, Stamina types can probably be twisted in a little more and click more than once, and attack types as far as I can see only click once and it fits, at least Valkyrie did.

This is only speculation so I do apologise but this is an idea that works.

If it works that way it would actually be pretty cool, I just hope it balances out part usage so not everyone is stuck using the same Layer because it has the highest resistance.

Like in every serie, or any game actually, there will be some overpowered parts. It's the only sure thing of the future of Beyblade.

This series may prevent that from being a huge deal the best. With the burst KO function even if your opponent has better parts you still have a chance of winning.

Rubber tips will come eventually, do not worry.

I don't know... Obviously we won't see how it would play out until it does, but I would imagine that the high speeds of a rubber tip would probably cause an instant burst, possibly on the bey that's using the rubber tip. Maybe we won't get any?

With the lighter weights, flat tips will probably flower pattern more easily.

Yeah that would likely work. Sometimes I felt even with the rubber seaborg(attack mode)base it was difficult to get a sliding shoot, just because it goes crazy fast. Hope that doesn't happen here too. Though it would be pretty cool.

While the Kerbeus (defense type) does not burst at all even it battled with the Valkyrie 4 times while the Ragnaruk bursts after a few collisions, summing the bolting mechanism of the promotional video it is very likely that the bolting mechanism is not very firmly attached, and when it is hit several times it loosens up eventually and cause the bey to explode from a fairly strong collison.
From this, we can deduce that a collision which is against the spinning direction would cause the bolt lock to loose. If there is no collison/ not strong enough the mechanism would not get un-bolted and will not burst as a result.
This is like, well, using a giant face bolt to bolt up a beyblade and collide them and see which one will loosen up first.

So I think the layers which are circular and smooth are the best in defence because there is no grip between the two beys

I wonder this too. Considering this series' initial similarity to HMS, though, I'd not be surprised if they later made customizable Disks like they did with HMS and its Customize Weight Disks.
