Chapter 1: A great change
Iakou grimaced as he looked down at his badly damaged dragoon, this supposed “new bey†had been hammering it for awhile know. His bey spun out. “Hah, that’s the power of flame leone†he said, then ran off laughing with his friends. “I shouldn’t have took that challenge†he thought. His dragoon had been destroyed by the impacts with the metal bey. “I’m sorry dragoon†he remembered only weeks ago, he was the best blader around, his custom dragoon undefeatable. Now this newb, who’d never seen a plastic bey before, had just destroyed his dragoon. Iakou put it in his pocket and walked to the local store. “Hey, I need some replacement parts for my dragoon here.†the owner laughed. “We don’t sell plastic parts here, why don’t you try this new metal bey†he showed him a storm Pegasus. Iakou swiped away the bey. “I’ll fix it myself†he walked off to his house, he made it into his own personal bey garage. He examined his bey and sighed “It’s unfixable, I’m sorry dragoon.†He flopped down on the cot he made in his garage, with dragoon in his hand, and fell asleep. When he awoke, dragoon was gone, and in it’s place was one of the new metal beys. “What, where did dragoon go.†He began searching franticly, but then he examined the face bolt. It was a white dragon, and it said “Draco†across the bottom. “Dragoon, is that you†he asked. The bey seemed to spin a little in response. Iakou put the bey in his pocket and ran to the shop to show the owner. “Well that’s definitely a storm wheel and a 100 f, but I have no idea about the energy ring, though it sorta reminds me of this Pegasus wheel I saw once.†He said looking at the energy ring, it was white and looked like to dragons flying, with wings outstretched. Iakou smiled and thought “One last gift from dragoon.†The owner interrupted his thoughts. “Hey, you want to test that out against my personal bey.†Iakou looked down to storm draco. It seemed to glow with excitement. “Lets go.†They walked over to his attack type stadium, and began the count. “3..2..1, let it rip.†They shot there beys in. Draco flew around the arena, while the other bey stood perfectly still in the center. “Go in and attack draco†iakou yelled. It flew in and hit the other bey, but was rebounded off. “What†iakou said. The owner laughed. “My beys a defensive type, you don’t have a chance.†Iakou was shocked, “defensive types couldn’t repel attacks like that, I guess this games a little different.†The owner laughed and replied “This isn’t your grandpas beyblade.†Iakou gritted his teeth. “We won’t lose, draco, like we used to, gather speed, and then attack†draco began speeding around the arena, and then moved in for the strike. It knocked the defensive bey out of the arena. The owner smiled. “Your better than I thought for someone stuck in the past, for beating me, you get any one item for beating me.†Iakou saw a launcher grip, like how he used to have, but this one for the new launchers. “I’ll take that†he said. He grabbed it and walked out, only to run into the same kid he had fought yesterday. He smiled. “Let’s go, time for round two.†The kid smiled and replied “Your on.†“3..2..1, let it rip†The two beys went flying. Draco dove in and quickly knocked the flame leone out. Iakou smiled at the kid. “Don’t mess with me and my dragoon†he said, and walked off. He was stopped by a cloaked figure. “I saw how you use that bey, and your different, your interesting.†he lifted a bey. “Time to face my shadow pantherâ€

A Blader's Spirit
Chapter 1 A Great Change
Hemo Ratigan and his balance bey, Burn Aquario ED145 JB, were in the final of the Dester Town Tournament. It was Hemo vs Ferthity, and with her attack bey, Cyber Unicorno 100 R2F. “ 3... 2... 1... Go Shoot!†yelled the crowd. Hemo and Ferthity launched their beys into the stadium. “ I'll finish in one go!†said Ferthity getting very cocky. “ Special move, Unicorno Thunder Charge!†she screamed. Hemo didn't react to this at all, all he did was yell back at her. “ You will not win, go go go Aquario!â€. All of a sudden as Unicorno started to gain speed and was charging to Aquario, Aquario moved with the speed of light. “ What! Unicorno missed!†Ferthity yelled in desperation. She tried again and again but couldn't keep up Burn Aquario's speed. She tried one more time and this time nicked the metal wheel. This knocked Burn Aquario of balance and it started to lose stamina. “ Time to pull out the big guns.†said Hemo loud enough so everyone could hear it. “ Here we go Special move, Burning Title Wave!â€. At this moment a large tidal wave of fire appeared and took out Cyber. “ Whoa, whoa, whoa†said Ferthity as she lost her balance, she was still standing, but it was like gale force wind was pushing her back, then her bey hit her in chest and that's when she lost balance and fell to ground. The only sound that could be heard was Unicorno hitting the concrete. “ What an intense match!†yelled the announcer. “ I lost?†Ferthity kept asking herself. “The Winner is Hemo Ratigan!†the Announcer said through the blaring microphone. “ For winning this tournament Hemo, you win..... New bey parts, and 3000 points!â€. The crowd screamed in excitement. “ You can choose the Face, the Clear Wheel, the Metal Wheel, the Spin track and the Tip.†Hemo started to talk. “ Wow, I didn't expect to win, but I'm not the writer of my life. So I choose..... A Metal Face Heavy, Lacerta, Poison, Three Heights 170 and Coated Spike.†The crowd went wild again. Ferthity said nothing and walked off. Hemo saw her walking away, got his prizes and ran off after her. “ Hey wait!†Hemo called to her. She turned around straight away. “ What?†Ferthity asked trying to sound politely. “ Good job, one day you could be good as me.†Hemo said gloating. “ You have a new rival†she said and started to walk, but people blocked the way. “ Who are you?†Ferthity asked. “ We are the Bey-Crushers, and we are going to take all of your points and those new parts you got. The leader, Hemo presumed, was tall and thin, he looked about 16 years old and had black dreadlocks. “ Hand them over, now!†he said holding his hand out. His little posy pointed their launchers at them. “ Let it Rip!†the gang yelled. Ferthity had hardly anytime to pull out her launcher, so she launched weakly. Hemo hadn't launched yet, he was doing something that Ferthity could not see. “ What are you doing†Ferthity rasped. “ Customizing my bey, what does it look like?†he replied still hunched over. “ It's hard to see when your taking on five Bey-Crushers here!†she shot back. Finally he stood up with his new bey, MF-H Burn Lacerta ED145 CS. “Let it Rip!†he cried. As soon as he launched he took out two Bey-Crushers. “Orso!†one cried. “ Bull!†yelped the other one. “ You guys are losers†rasped their leader. “b..b..but Myomie†they whimpered. “ Get out of my face!†he screamed through gritted teeth. Off they ran into the distance. “ Now to finish off you guys.†he said reaching for something. Hemo gulped, Ferthity shuddered but kept battling. Myomie pulled out his bey and showed it to them. “ This here is Hell Pegasus BD145 S, and it's is your worst nightmare†he laughed insanely. “ Let it Rip!â€. “ OK you've had your fun but now it's my turn. Special move, Hell Pegasus Sniping Shot!â€. “ Eeek†squealed Hemo. Ferthity again said nothing and just kept trying to doge Pegasus's moves. Hell Pegasus was shooting at them both at the speed of light. “ I've had it!†screamed Ferthity. “ Ahhhhh! Special Move Unicorno Lightning Strike!â€. Then Cyber Unicorno smashed Pegasus into the air and kept striking at it in a lightning bolt shape, and then with one final strike and sent Pegasus down the road. “ Wait for me Pegasus†Myomie cried running after it. “ Hey way to go†said Hemo putting his hand on Ferthity's shoulder. “ Don't touch me!†Ferthity said in a low, dark voice. “ I feel great power, power I've never felt beforeâ€. “It's like when Ryuuga had his L-Drago, he couldn't stopâ€. “ This is my great change†.“ This how my father died, Unicorno has some kind of poison.... and it feels great!â€. “ Dark move, Unicorno Horn Injection!†Hemo was sent flying down the road, when he stopped tumbling people gathered around and saw him, still gripping onto Burn Lacerta.

Stone Still
The statue appeared to smile. A marble gargoyle, one with cracks that lined up along its’ wings, it watched over the children that ventured passed it. The seven hundred year old gargoyle couldn’t possibly… I reminded myself the impossibility for a statue to shift solid facial features. The bright lighting must have been playing with my senses.
As I looked around the museum, nothing of pleasure came in sight. Similar to a surveillance camera, I mimicked its’ movements, as my head scanned across the gloomy passageway until a small squadron became visible for a split second in the corner of my left eye. Since the school uniform bore such bright gold highlights, it was an instant reaction for me to eagerly follow on. I was pacing towards the same corner, when, at the exact moment that my head had angled back, that marble gargoyle grinned. Shook, my instincts kicked in instantly; I scratched for my lower pocket gripping onto a lump of metal. Simultaneously I pulled out a log of a launcher grip from my combat trousers. In the ready position, I analysed that grinning statue. The statue was stone still, the grin vanished, and its’ mouth returned to its’ neutral position.
A passerby glanced at me, in my foolish position, holding up my grip as if Ryuga himself demanded a battle. The passerby thought I was insane, what was I doing with such gear in such an ancient museum? Before anyone else could realise, I packed up the gear, launching my body out of sight of the statue. My steps proceeded forward but I left droplets of perspirations across the marble museum floor. My heart thrust punches at my ribcage at even faster rates than the sweat was hitting the solid floor. In a panic, I spoke aloud, “Where is Dave?â€
My friend Dave was standing by an Aztec helmet; he was daring himself to play “dress-up Aztec†whilst Ms Green discussed ancient settlements within England with a security guard. I was rushing Dave with terror. Dave barely kept one ear open on the bombardment of spluttered words. Whilst I took a brief second to catch my breath, Dave took his chance to slap me across my strawberry red face. “Statues don’t move!†Dave affirmed, as the group of pupils shuffled forward once again.
The school group swiftly hovered from ornament to statue continuously until the clock struck three in the museum. Relieved, I was eager to exit hell’s gates where the lighting was clearly playing games with him. The group were to return to the school itself – I was one of few who travelled to and from school without the aid of an adult; on this winter’s night, the thought triggered shivering as they approached the school gates. The second I stepped onto the school’s land, I walked straight out only to walk in the same direction that we arrived. The school’s safety terms had safely wasted half an hour of my evening.
My journey home consisted of a congregation of dusty roads which camouflaged into the black night; the museum sat on such a road. When passing the heap of rubble, known as the town’s museum, I couldn’t help but catch sight of a dark figure looking down at me from the window of the museum. The dark figure had a red laser, it pointed at me. “Goo Shoot!†croaked a harsh voice. Watching some sort of cannon ball variant flying at me, I hurled my body forward, diving into solid concrete. I narrowly dodged the beyblade and had to react; listening to my intuition, my paces widened and I accelerated until I was no longer in sight of the building.
At night, strict Asian parents meant that every night, I was separated from my Bey. Some carp about “You will never get to sleep with these distractions near you at night!†I was deprived of my safety. My bey was my life, as internet is to a modern teenager. On a brighter side, my bedroom was relatively secure, it was situated on the top floor of the house and outside the bedroom window was scaffolding that furthermore rib-caged my home. Night came quickly as I locked myself into bed. Shortly after I had fallen asleep, a slight clanking of metal awoke me. The builder’s work didn’t give mercy for those that tried to sleep. However, I forced myself to fall back asleep, and ventured into the dreaming state. I dreamt a scenario; where the sun sizzled on the buzzing city and I was returning home. I once again see the museum in this dream. Builders are chipping away at the feet of the museum’s columns.
I snapped out of the dreaming and sat up. I spoke aloud, “Builders work during the dayâ€, as I twisted my head and watched the black figure outside the window. A black blur ripped through the window towards me. The world is changing, statues seek revenge.

A Great Change
Somewhere in the Arctic Ocean. Ten years ago.
The white helicopter flew across the pale sky. Penguins swam around the icy island in the freezing temperatures. It was a barren block of ice, almost one and a half kilometres thick, and the further inward you got, the less life you could see. It had taken almost ten days to find the place, the target. The North Pole, the place that makes the Earth spin, it was just a field of ice. Everywhere you looked was just a sea of white, like it was trapping you in. Hills of snow created the perfect wall to cover up the truth, but then they were also the best places to shoot from. Onboard the helicopter was two men. The first had a cleanly shaved beard with only a little stubble around his chin. His eyes were hidden by dark shades resting on his broken nose, which was tilted slightly at the tip. He had a white scar across his cheek and his long, brown hair was scruffy, blowing lightly in the wind. Due to the bitter weather, he wore a bulky layer of clothing, although he knew he could survive without it. He had worked in the business for a long time now and he was confident, even on a mission of this proportion. The other man, however, was jumpy and nervous. Only young, in his early twenties, he was being assigned something that could be fatal. They both had names, but never used them. If anyone found out who really they were they would be behind bars. The calm, older one was known as X and the other man was codenamed Swift. X signalled to the driver and the helicopter swooped down onto a cliff, overlooking a building called Santa’s Grotto. It was an amazing piece of architecture: it was a circular design reaching up to the sky, spiralling metal surrounding it. From the cliff you could see a podium which held a microphone in front of a party of people eating the expensive food available. It was a very exclusive party and only the greatest people in the modern world were lucky enough to see this glorious building. A man in a suit approached the microphone and tapped it. That’s when the two men rapidly jumped out of the aircraft and positioned themselves, Beylaunchers ready with Bullet Beys (a dangerous weapon as deadly as a bullet) attached. The older one positioned himself on a cliff nearby so the younger one could get a better shot. It was substantially further back, but still close enough. The man below was about to give the speech that would change the world forever. He held the microphone steady and spoke.
“Welcome, Ladies and Gentleman, to the discovery of the century. Now as you may know me and my company, Brad Technologies, have been studying a gateway to a parallel universe.†He began as the audience’s chatter died down. From the floor dramatically raised a glass case inside which was a beyblade. The metal was so shiny you could see yourself in it and the clear wheel was light silver with a metal face bolt. The tip and spin track were white and that complimented the rest of the bey. “Mirror Necros; that is its name and this will bring in a new era for Planet Earth. I will usher in a new age of peace and harmony. Technology will be at an all time height. I will end the recession. I will end world hunger. The Earth will be at its best. Because I have seen this universe and it is a paradise for every person. My plan: we must take over that planet. Start over on a clean slate. Make a new Earth. Make a great change†He continued with his plan for a few minutes; the perfect time for him to die. X would shoot as soon as he exited the building to get into his private jet. Once in there he was invincible and the transaction would only take a few seconds, but that was enough to aim and fire. That was when he realised. Swift was pointing frantically at something. It was camouflaged into its white surroundings, but by squinting X made out a polar bear. Now came the dangerous part. My cliff was absolutely safe from the bear, which was on a lower cliff to his left and much more far forward. The cliff also held Swift. If he shot his bey at the target, the noise and vibrations would alert the bear and it would rip Swift apart. If he didn’t then his target would get away. He wanted to shoot at the bear but he knew that would notify the target that he was in danger anyway. Suddenly X had an idea. He calculated the angles and decided it would work. He only had a few seconds now. The target was already racing across to his jet. He aimed at the bear and let it rip. The bey tore through the bear, pushing it off the cliff. The bey then ricocheted off a rock and ledged itself into the target’s head. By the time anyone had noticed he was dead X and Swift had left and as far as they knew a bear had jumped off a cliff and onto him.
He was about to make a great change to the universe, but not a good one.
