I get that the anime is only to promote the toy line, and the toys are marketed for boys. But the lack of females in burst is astonishing. I can only recall two, Valt's mom and sister. And they are just supporting characters. I haven't watched the God Series episodes yet, but hopefully there will be more. And hopefully we get more age diversification as well. An entire cast of fifth grade boys is gonna get boring.

Female bladers in BSB really made you feel that Beyblade wasn't just for boys in general. That I can agree on.

Oh yes, that's right. The missing female characters are one of the few things I don't like that much about Burst. Except Valt's mom and sister I can just think of this girl in the class of Valt and Shu. But I'm not sure this is a big difference...

But my idea is more based on that part before the opening, where the narrator tells about beyblading. In Burst there are just shown boys, but now in Burst God I'm pretty sure I saw the silhouette (or something like that) of a girl.
And because of that I think now we'll have some female Bladers. Well, I actually hope so... Maybe, because this would consolidate my reference for Burst. And of course I miss more girls there. We never had much female Bladers in Beyblade, but it is a pity that in Burst there's obviously almost nobody.

Oh, come on. Tomorrow is just the 4th episode of Burst God. I think it's a little bit to early to say something like that.
It might be I agree with what you wrote... But Burst God will have at about 50 episode. There's a chance to have some better female characters.
For example... I think Chris (I hope it's her right name) is interesting. Just my opinion. I'm looking forward to see more from her.
It seems like she's not a blader, but let's see if there will be other female bladers (which are not that random).
It's just... I really think we have to wait. Burst God is just at the beginning and we'll see if we get better female characters than Burst.

I guess so, Chris is alright and definitely seems to serve more purpose than the others but I doubt that's saying a whole lot. I'm guessing that, regardless if there are female bladers in the series or not, they'll likely just own reused parts combos, and random booster prizes if we're lucky.  The whole female blader thing isn't that big of a deal for me but I would like to see them in roles that isn't a completely worthless cheerleader.

Well, me too.
It would be great to have a female blader as important (or better say strong) as the main characters. Or saying a female blader as a part of the main characters that isn't a cheerleader or something like that.
But that's a problem every series of Beyblade has. It would be great to have a change, but I don't really expect that Burst (God) will do this so far. I would like to see that, but I think somethink like that will not really happen in Beyblade ever.
But for now, just see what Burst God will do. Maybe at least girls beyblading like in the series before... I would be disappointed if there's not even that.

Nikkei, a Japanese newspaper, is attributing CoroCoro's 2008-2011 success to Metal Fight Beyblade. We tend to forget it, even CoroCoro themselves do these days, but even the Metal Fight Beyblade manga was very popular and lasted a long time.
