Questions about the WBO

No. These days people type cuss words misspelled to get past the system. I report them, but they don't get warned for it.

A couple questions: Will Crescent's false testing be addressed by the committee? I'm sure most people, besides myself, are wondering why the majority of Limited test threads just got closed.

Also, for such a serious misdemeanor, why is he not banned?

I don't think it'd be wise to blindly ban him. He has the right to explain himself, and I think he has, which may be why he's not banned.

It's not blindly if it prevents future falsifications and sets an example for others. There have been situations in the past where members were banned for things that paled in comparison to this and we still haven't gotten a legitimate explanation from him besides because he wanted to.

This was the best course of action. Plus, it did not deserve to be in the News bar on the index of this site all the time until we eventually post a new announcement. By targeting the test threads themselves, we can hopefully encourage people to provide real tests now instead.

We are definitely open to questions, and we will answer them as well as we can. He told me he did not do it for popularity, but that was something other people told me, so whatever. Who really cares about the reasons when you see the range of the repercussions, damn it ... There was no good reason for this. I think nobody at all needed this to happen to the Limited format.

If there is any good to come out of this, at least it will encourage more people to test, to make up for what was lost, in a way.

With this announcement, I assume that it's a part of the Limited format that is destroyed before our eyes. I hope that someone will pick up the torch and do theses tests honestly, making of the Limited format an honest format, even better than before.

Wow what a jerk. It would nice to have a proper explanation from him considering the damage he's done. Also i'm curious about how he got found out?

It's not like the format is dead. I mean, just yesterday I made the Ronin Zirago 85 RF topic.

It looks bad and it really isn't great right now. I mean, when things like this happen, it sucks. Alot of people, including me, definitely are pretty upset. A lot of good people and work has kinda been made irrelevant. Let's face it, today is a pretty changing day for the format, not for the greater good of what we thought we knew.

But I feel it also can bring our community closer, to rebuild from this. I mean, we can only make Limited better, from here. It can only get better, at this point.

I think he owned up to it. He told other members before the committee found out, so either he told the admins or if his friends did.

What upsets me is that other people could have made all the threads that he did with genuine tests, but because he also created several part discussion threads, at least half of the information in the Limited forum has been rendered useless and irrelevant. Anyway, I'll stop ranting. Just want everyone else to understand how heavily this has impacted us. It isn't something we can just brush off and now we need to step it up to rebuild Limited after the damage this has done.

Yes, it's disappointing, but now that this part of the format is destroyed, I agree with Leone19, we will learn from our mistakes and making the Limited format better than it was.

With so much information on limited being found as fake, I'll definitely try to do some tests to get it back on its feet.

Anyway yah, this may be crippling, but what's done is done. We just have to work hard to get Limited back up on its feet.

Yeah. We really need to come together as community right now and help the formr get back on its feet. I'll do more Ronin Zirago 85 RF tests this week, for starters.

He's right.Even though the thing he did was wrong,he's a really nice guy,IMO he dosn't deserve to get banned.

Under different circumstances, I would agree with you, however, I personally applaud Ultra for that brief, yet on point, summary.

It is one thing to just lie for your own benefits, but his continuous lies over the course of months had disadvantaged the whole community. If you haven't noticed already, please browse over the Customization forum. What he did was selfish. There is no possible reasoning good enough to justify his lies.

Many people (casual players, competitive members, even non-members who just frequent the forums) rely on the tests provided in the forums. Everybody here works hard to maintain WBO's credibility, be it over Beywiki or Test Results. To simply just piss it away like that is nothing short of a 'jerk' move.

On the contrary, he deserves to be banned. In order to give him the proper warning for this, Kai-V had to revoke 60% of his previous warnings, given in various occasions by various staffs. Yes, he was already sitting at 90% prior to this incident. If there was a person more deserving of a ban, it would have been him.

We actually listened to the appeals of a few of his friends to not ban him, whom he indifferently lied to by implications. After weighing the outcome and repercussions, we decided this course of action is the best.

I always thought he was a great kid, but I kinda had that hunch some of those tests were fabricated just seeing the sheer quantity that he posted at the beginning of Limited. I'm very surprised he still has his membership …

Why even revoke 60% to begin with? You could've just waited for the appeals and then judge. Or just ban him.
On the contrary, he didn't do anything wrong off topic. Just stop him from giving tests.
