Questions about the WBO

Yes, it was discussed.
doesn't the WBO carp out bad words in thread titles?
There should be someone moderating members when they post a thread, you know, check it and give the final go?
i know what a disgusting member just did.it was completely unimaginable
(i was surfing with my mom alongside Unhappy )

No, for some reason topic titles and private message titles are not filtered by the MyBB software. We cannot really moderate each and every new thread either.
(To admins) I wanted to ask this : What if a member got 100 Face, or more, will the Poster-Profile that is showing in the threads remain long ? I mean gets longer and longer so that the member's post becomes huge ? or will you do something about it ?

This explains what I mean :

Yeah, like with Arupaeo's case (I believe he has the most) he doesn't have a sig, and so his post stretches the page.
How do you put things in a spoiler?

How do you bump in a thread.
(Dec. 02, 2012  2:41 AM)jubksin43 Wrote: How do you bump in a thread.

It is like double posting
(Dec. 02, 2012  2:41 AM)jubksin43 Wrote: How do you bump in a thread.

When you post, you automatically bump the thread. For buying/selling thread, you can only bump after 48hours. For other thread, if you have no reason to bump the thread, then don't do it or you are just spamming & will get a warning.
-Nevermind what I said-

EDIT: Beaten by wpardin! A better answer too; I forgot about the 48 hour rule, hah.
doesn't the WBO have a history thread?like how many tournaments have been done, which country had how many tournaments, which combo was most consistent at a specific area and so on.and many other things?

I don't think we do have. Although I know there are different treads about some, I guess you could just search around the forum a bit more.
For once, I agree with zeneo. It makes sense to keep a page on tournament statistics, like overall number of tournaments held (obviously this might get iffy when it comes to the earliest ones) and tournaments per country.

It's a bit more difficult to do combos and other details, but the basic info could be compiled into statistics plausibly.
When i open my control panel i get my total number of posts as 198 but when i scroll down to my last five posts it comes the total number of post as 296, why is it like that?
Posts in the Introductory Forum do not count towards post count. People who post there frequently will notice a huge difference. As well, some other forums do not count towards post count that can be viewed by the public. You can only see your User CP, that post count includes some other posts too that are hidden to the public, but are still "there" in the literal forum sense. Your post count that appears on your public profile is the post count for all viewable posts minus the intro forum.

EDIT: There used to be a time when I yelled at people for confusing "there" and "their". I'm losing my touch = =

Ah yes, even I agree with zeneo there! It would be quite interesting to maintain such statistics. Seeing that we've not kept any records about all the tournaments yet, it would actually be a LOT of work to get details on all the tournaments. While members from different countries can help, it would still be quite difficult, haha!

As for the combos and stuff, I think we've had similar threads already. The "_______- Meta-Game" threads highlight the various combos that have been successful in their area. So, that can probably be done with relative ease!

@Insomniac.- Ah, that explains it... I always wondered as to why there's a difference in one's "User CP Post Count" and "Last 5 Posts Post Count". Moreover, there have been regular occurrences of my total post count(as seen in User CP) going down by about 50-100 posts. I think even that is related to what you mentioned?
post counts were not given for posting in Introduce Yourself forum as it would give any user an Antique Face just by welcoming new members.
the WBO would be keen on give the Antique Face to the one who contribute to the WBO
I do understand why they have opted for such an arrangement(i.e. to make the Introduce Yourself! posts not count) now, because until now I believed that the Committee Members actually monitored a user's activity in a certain Forum(which wouldn't be quite tough for them, as they usually check things out while Moderating threads) before awarding an Antique Face. They'd check the warnings of the user, the number of helpful post made, etc.

When I first came here and saw NitroNeo get an Antique Face, he told me that one has to make 1,000 helpful posts to get one. These helpful posts do not include posts in which questions are asked, but those in which questions are answered/doubts are solved.
If this be true, then the CMs would certainly need to "keep a check" on the user's activity before giving them an Antique Face. As of course, there are chances that a person may ask too many questions, and answer quite a few...
Then again, this need not be true, haha!
Iirc, the Map hasn't been working for a quite a while. We don't know why.
Spoiler feature for faces: Me gusta.

Anyways, since you cannot see threads in the General Discussion forum without it being approved by an administrator, wouldn't it make more sense to pin the SPAM bot topic in this forum, instead of General Discussion as SPAM threads will not show? Just a thought xD

Aaaand, at the bottom of the page, the "Forum Jump" links for User CP and Private Message (and a few others, iirc) are broken :c

There was never a "Forum Jump" on the PM system and in the User CP. It's only present in the threads and the forum you are in.
