Purchase Consultation (MFB + Burst)

You might also consider countering Duo with your own Duo combo...
A few posts back, JSB convinced me that there was absolutely no reason to get the UDXS except for Duo but
1. I hate defense types.
2. Buying a whole set for just one bey doesn't sound like a good idea to me.
So countering an overweight Duo with an underweight one will only add to my problems if it loses.
Phantom and Diablo have use in two categories IIRC i.e. Stamina and attack(only in one combo which focusses on stamina anyway) and for Diablo, attack and defense(again it barely works well for defense.. More of anti-attack.) But since both have almost useless bottoms, only the MWs will be useful(unless the B: D turns out to be better than expected which mostly wont happen.) Now, since the duo is overweight, Phantom's stamina will not work very well(there was a thread which showed similar things IIRC) so Phantom fails but Diablo's attack wont do very very well either. Thats the reason I cant really make up my mind on what to get.
with udx you also get lrf metal faces and beylauncher lr, it is a really great purchase, and duo is probably the best stamina/defence wheel in the game, you must have it, if the udx set is too expensive you can probably buy a loose duo uranus of ebay or something
@N0body you have to start trying stuff out yourself, I disagree with most of the arguments on this thread whether it's for or against a particular set or bey. the whole UDX is great not just Duo, Diablo on the right spin track and tip is an AMAZING attack bey, and Blitz is highly underrated as well. The 230 is awesome on an RDF as well, and I've had little luck with Flash so far on any combo... Just my opinion based on my experiences, seeing I own all of the 4D's except Kreis (see no reason at all to buy) and a couple HWS beys, my experience should be somewhat valid. But I'm sure many disagree, my point is you just got to find what works for you and quit being so reliant on what others say works for them.
BB-10 Attack Stadium
Flash Sagittario
Flame byxis
Variares
RBV7
Greeen Beylauncher
Launcher rubbers

Or......

BB-10 Attack Stadium
Flash Sagittario
Pegasus Battle Set (Comes with Beylauncher)
Twisted Tempo 145WD
Hades Kerbecs BD145DS

I'd go with the second option. Flash is better for attack than Vari, and you're already getting 230WD with Flash, which would render the Flame Byxis useless.
In the second set, you also get an RF, R2F, Twisted, WD, Kerbecs, and BD145.

Below is my collection of beys. (Click to View)

It's time for you to take the leap and buy some TakaraTomy beys to catch up with the metagame. Phantom Orion, VariAres, Death Quetzalcoatl, Duo Uranus, Blitz Unicorno, Diablo Nemesis, etc.
Does anyone know where I can buy a nice tackle box to keep disassembled beys in?
Walmart carries some of the best large-format, modular tackle boxes that I've seen (and used). This one is particularly good: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Plano-Angled-T...m/15904153

Honestly, Flash is the best way to counter Duo already, but Phantom Orion can be used to OS the more defensive Duo combos. MF-H Phantom Orion TH170CS will OS basically any Duo Combo on BD145, just find the right Height (195 or 220), as well as being a strong balance combo, but yeah, I'd rather have Duo, haha.

Diablo gives you the ability to stop opposing Flash Combos as well as taking out stamina types in MF-H Diablo Kerbecs BD145R2F (R145 works okay too, more aggressive, you do a bit worse against attack but it's better at KOing stuff itself).

But yeah, the whole UDXS is Defense. Wing is a great Defense Wheel, worthy of top tier status IMO, Duo is, well, Duo, and LDG is a niche defender, good for weak launching against spin-locked attackers.

It really depends what combo the Duo will be in. If it's in stamina or TH170CS/(MB, though that's more of a stamina combo), use attack/get diablo for safety. If it's in a defense combo, use Phantom in a balance combo or even stamina (as Duo lacks attack), but yeah, use track heights matchups to beat it.
should i get hades kerbecs can he beat earth virgo
Hades Kerbecs is much better than Earth Virgo in general. Yes, Hades Kerbecs can beat Earth Virgo, but that's not the point. Hades kerbecs has very useful parts. It would help if you posted your beys, but in general and parts wise, get Hades Kerbecs.
Edit: To be more specific, Hades kerbecs contains BD145 and Kerbecs which are the VERY helpful parts. Hades and DS aren't too bad either. Earth Virgo's only useful parts are really just Earth and GB145. Hope it helps.
Okay, thanks for the suggestions everyone. Since I am low on budget, I guess I'll be going for Phantom, Flash and maybe even Beat Lynx.
thanks hyper27 i wil get him and also i have i have these beys
defence-twisted tempo,rock zurafa,gravity destroyer,
attack-galaxy pegasis,storm pegasis,
stamina-burn pheonix,earth virgo,
balance-poison serpent,thermal lacerta,storm aquario,evil beafil,
xts-ir ldrago,tornado lion,
XTS tops are not real, actual Beyblades, by the way.

Besides Hell/"Hades" Kerbecs, you should also try to get Flame Byxis and Ray Unicorno/"Striker".

Adding to what th!nk said, Diablo is what you should be getting instead of Phantom, there...
Even though you are on a low budget, I am sure that you will, by hook or crook, get Duo in the future. Even if you have Phantom, Duo remains an essential purchase. If you have Duo, then no one is going to suggest you to get Phantom as a must-buy.
Even th!nk said that he'd rather get Duo... Of course he (and even I) didn't mean to say that Phantom isn't good, but its just not the best purchase to make with Duo in the game...
Then again, you once said that you like the smirk on Phantom, and that's why you want to get it. In that case, I would not suggest you to not buy it, as I seriously respect the aesthetic value of a bey than its competitive value. No wonder that I am now not able to decide whether I should get Cyclone Herculeo or Twisted Tempo, haha!

Now after the long explanation I gave as to why not to buy Phantom, here's some reasons for buying Diablo in place of Phantom-
Read this only if you are going to get Duo in the future(which I am sure you will)-

After getting Duo, you'd certainly choose it over Phantom for Stamina. Phantom and Duo are equal in Stamina, but Duo gets the cake as it rules the Defense category as well. So your Phantom wouldn't be relatively useful. Not to mention that Phantom doesn't have mainstream use in Attack...
Now for Diablo, even after you get Duo, Diablo shall be useful for you as it can give you a decent attacker, and even an anti-attack combo. So, it will be a worthwhile purchase. Smile

Not to mention that the eyes on Diablo are more appealing than the smirk on Phantom. Tongue_out

As for not getting the UDXS as a whole- It is a great set to own, I never said it isn't. Smile Its just not a must-buy for you as you are on a low budget.
All parts(spare the LRF, WF, and all...) you get from UDXS would be for Defense, and there's you, who's looking for top class beys in all three categories! Grin
Plus, its costly. So you can get only the UDXS and nothing else with it. So not the best purchase for you...
Okay.. now I am seriously confused.. but I guess after the site th!nk showed me, I will be able to purchase Duo separately although I am low on budget. Thanks for that th!nk. I will think over it today and make my purchases tomorrow.
Competitively, if you get Duo, then please don't get Phantom. Smile
If you like Phantom a lot, only then you must get it.....
My 5 yr. old son is very interested in beyblade. He has asked for a set for his upcoming birthday. His favorite on the show is pegasus. Since I am new to all this, I need some advice on what to purchase for his first experience. Thanks in Advance
Favorite on the show is Pegasis? No problem!

If you don't have a stadium yet, and want a Pegasis, I recommend you buy a Pegasis DX Set from TT. The product codes, for each Pegasis evolution, are BB-09 (Pegasis 105F, rather rare though), BB-32 (Storm Pegasis and Dark Wolf. Dark Wolf is bad but it has an extra beylauncher and gives him something to battle against in the stadium), BB-76 (Galaxy Pegasis only, with grip, launcher and stadium) and BB-107 (Big Bang/Cosmic Pegasis with extra parts, grip launcher and stadium).

A good competitive starting set without a stadium would have to be the BB-117 Strongest Blader Set, which gives great Attack and Defense parts, along with a few Stamina pieces too. Check our Competitive Combo threads in the Advanced Forum for an up-to-date list of the top combos, along with the Beyblade Customization forum to see the usefulness of any specific parts. Questions about beyblades in general can go in Ask A Question, Get an Answer, while combo advice and appraisal can go in Build Me a Combo. If you have access to Hasbro only (can't buy online, eBay, etc.) then you should probably get someone else's advice, I'm not too knowledgeable about that.

However, if you are a Hasbro-only blader, do not under any circumstance get the XTS or Stealth Battler tops. Hasbro themselves has banned them from their own play, like us, and they are rather weak and useless as well. Your son could try Pegasis Jumper if he just wants a gimmick, but I can't guarantee that he'll win any battles. Wink

Have fun blading!
If he likes Pegasis, the best Purchase for you in my opinion will be the Big Bang Pegasis DX set(BB-107). It has the beystadium, 3-segment launcher with grip, tips like XF and RF and even Big Bang Pegasis. So, it will be a good purchase if he doesnt have a stadium. If he has, then go for BB-121 Ultimate DX set. It has Wing Pegasis, Duo Uranus and L-Drago Guardian along with a beylauncher and DUo is a top tier defense bey, so it will make him competitive very fast.
A CS or MF2
I would go for a MF2. It is useful in a number of combos and helps in all three categories. CS is good but it is overthrown by RDF in defense so I would get an RDF instead.
