[Product]  Level Chips

Because they needed their own thread. Level Chips are a new thing in Cho-Z, seeming to be its equivalent to God Chips. Currently, Takara-Tomy has said they will only be given as prizes in tournaments.

We know that Cho-Z Beyblade layers are built to be somewhat unstable, making a need for this Level Chip for Cho-Z layer Beyblades to perform at their highest potential. But will their limited availability combined with their provided enhancements prove to make them unfair in tournament play? Only time will tell to provide the facts needed to make such a call.

Some info we currently have:

forneus looks way more balanced with the level chip

This video seems to show gold, silver, and bronze level chips for tournament prizes.
Didn't know you knew Japanese.

Basically, this is just like the MGC, but not a god chip. Why do they call it a chip if it's that wide? This should be called a Level Ring, or Level Saucer

I had a foreign language requirement years ago, and that's what I did, haha. I'm totally rusty these days, but I still remember some things, especially how to find and look up kanji. It makes for a slow process and I can't claim fluency, but yeah. Something I hope to work on again in the future.

I think they're just really keen on using the word "chip". Probably just keeping in style with the Bit Chips of old. I think it might actually be smaller than a poker chip. But you're right, it's very ring-like.

But you know, Valkyrie doesn't seem to be an actual Valkyrie, so they'll do what they want. But our culture at times does the same to Asian stuff, so hey.
This is a very big deal because the balance issue is noticable. It was very very balanced and it's kinda bad that it's limited to tournament winners only

it’s not anything like a MGC.  MGCs were about adding centralized top weight, from the 3D printed mock ups of LCs i’ve seen, LCs appear to be about stabilizing the disc position as a spacer.

either way we don’t know much other than LCs will come some day.  even the manner in which we can acquire them is disputed; in-box fliers say they will be prizes for wbba tournament winners, other coro ads appear to say LCs will be given to every single tournament participant.

i will make sure to get them, but the whole thing is becoming pretty annoying given current super-z performance overall.  i feel like eF (and cR) really need these things...  just put 3 in a capsule pack and charge me US$10!
Considering the fact that we used to think Dark Deathsycther wasn't good due to being unbalanced until factory differences gave up perfectly balanced molds, I would say yes; a temporary ban until they become common enough to buy without breaking the bank (Or the WBO makes some people "official" makers and distributors of tournament legal 3D printed Level Chips)

Ooo, that's interesting. Will have to find that.

If anyone can pinpoint where this is, it'd be much appreciated!

Agreed. It's annoying and they really should make them buyable in some fashion or another. Make the tournaments have fancy ones.

I'm curious as to what Hasbro will do. I could see Hasbro doing what they did with the God Chips and just makes them permanently fixed. But if not, then it might be a legit way to get them. Too bad that would be pretty far off.
I mean, I am not fully sure about the use of 3d printed level chips this early on.

As someone with 3d printing experience, there are too many variables to keep track of when it comes to Strict competitive play like this. For instance, What plastic? Pla, Nylon, ABS, POM, Proprietary polymer? What kind of print? FDM, SLA, DLP, SLS? Are the intricacies of the level chips going to render the 3d printed ones unusable?

I feel like I have two solutions, one leads to the other:

1: Temp ban until more obtainable to bladers outside Japan (Via Hasbro release or a TT accessory Release)

2: New regulations over the use of 3d printed level chips. I am going to make a post right after this explaining a potential idea for allowing 3d printed level chips.
Kinda off topic but if someone here can make 3D printed level chips for me i’ll pay top dollar for them.
Sorry for double post.

Ideas for rules regarding 3d printed level chips:

When at a tournament, If a blader chooses to bring a level chip, either purchased from a Japanese Coro Coro tournament winner, or 3-D printed, they must obtain a level chip registration form to provide the following information:

Material of Level Chip-
Weight of Level Chip-
Origin of Level Chip (Where the chip was won or printed)-
Type of Print (Codes for each listed below)-

The use of this form is to track level chips and their appearance with tournament winners in order to further refine a list of legal level chips. Different plastics have different properties that can make them act different from one another, so it is vital to see if any particular materials provide an unfair advantage compared to others.

Plastics:
ABS
PLA
Resin (specify)
Nylon

Printed level chips must be within 3 grams heavier or lighter than an injection molded/ non 3d printed level chip to be permitted for competitive play.

Printing codes:
FDM (Fuse Deposition Modeling)
SLS (Selective Laser Sinistering)
SLA (Stereolithography)
DLP (Digital Light Processing)
INJ (Injection Molded/Not 3D printed).

If any fields are missing, or are deemed to not fit any criteria, the particular level chip in question is to NOT be permitted into tournament, and is confiscated by the tournament host until the tournament has concluded. Hosts are to return confiscated level chips after a tournament, or if the blader decides to leave early, to which they are not allowed to rejoin that particular event.
I think it'd be easier to figure out specifics if we can get a Level Chip to someone who knows about 3D printing. They do have technology where the part can be scanned into the computer for duplication, too. That would make it more accurate, I'd think?

Once anybody over here has one, it'd also help for figuring out details like what kind of plastic to use and how heavy it should be.

Most commercial toy plastics are either PVC or ABS, the latter being the more common of the two. Its soft and somewhat heavy, and it is amorphous, meaning it doesnt have a defined crystalline shape. Think of it as a liquid with a solid, defined shape (best way I can describe it.) That generally means it can warp more easily, though much more durable than PLA, which isn't a petroleum by-product and is more rigid than ABS, which consequently makes it worse for moving parts and durability purposes.
http://prntscr.com/j6pzlj What about this though? theres 2 level chips in the thing.

If you squint up to the image at the top, you'll see that it's showing that each place got something different. 1st is eF layer and gold Level Chip, 2nd is a gold disc and silver Level Chip, and then 3rd is the gold driver and bronze Level Chip. They're all separate prizes.

So those are three separate packs on the bottom, each with a Level Chip. From what I can tell, anyway.

I sincerly hope TT will release level chips as an accessory, rather than be a tournament exclusive thing.

You snap it underneath the layer and it fills in the missing gap that is currently making Cho-Z layers wobbly and unstable.

The image in the first post explains this more clearly.

Would love to see people try to make 3D printed Level Chips, but just going to say it now: they would never be made legal for WBO tournaments. We don't want to create an expectation that players either need to buy a real Level Chip (which is probably expensive?) from an auction or go through the trouble of having one created. There would also be the issue of ensuring the quality remains the same for everyone, something which would be extremely difficult to enforce globally.

Anyways, I can't imagine them not releasing it more widely in the future, but it's still pretty insane to me that this is limited to tournament winners currently. Do we know if there is any ruling for TAKARA-TOMY events about its usage? Seems like it might just help the tournament winners win more at this point.

And to be clear: Level Chips are currently legal for WBO events as we try to get a sense of what level of advantage they actually provide. But I'd imagine we will probably make them illegal for the time being shortly.

Go to Japan and win in a tournament, apparently. That's why people are upset.

RedPanda2 noted that it might be a gift for anyone who attended TT tournaments in Japan, but that's still pretty limiting if true.

Here's hoping they change their mind.
I'm pretty sure it'll be available in official events not just in japan.. but until I can confirm it, it remains as my own guesswork

There were already official events in South Korea when Beyblade Burst God came out...
I wish they had treated em like god chips. they all come with it, later releasing metal level chips.
I imagine they might be similar to the Crystal Wheels from Zero-G. They'll balance the bey, but won't weigh much.

I do not get that analogy. When did the Crystal Wheels have that functionality? They are just lightweight wheels which are inferior to the other chrome wheels.
